"A bad dream, huh? Well, I could've written a whole poem for this dream too. But... I don't know. My motivation to keep composing new poems is... dying. Because their purpose is to express things I feel to whoever the poems are composed for. And there are not really that many people I want to write poems for. I don't want my words to die. 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝⁣ Alright, so I was a bit busy and couldn't post. Anyways, I'll finish with The Cursed Child this time. So yeah, I talked about the Play and the Book in general in the last post, so I'm gonna talk about the plot and characters in this one. The book starts off about where The Deathly Hallows ended. There's Hogwarts Express, the Boy who Lived, the Minister of Magic, a jolly Weasley, and some nervous kids. You can practically feel the weight of those seven books when you meet these people again in these pages. But you need to get over it soon as this story is about to begin. A Potter is sorted into the most un-Potter-ly house of Hogwarts and makes the unlikeliest best friend. Trust me when I say that their friendship is comparable to our Trio. They can risk not only their lives, but expulsion too. Yes. And they actually succeeded in doing something that even the Marauders and Weasley Twins couldn't do. You get to see a few new faces and many old ones. Both the good, and the bad. The lines that made my heart race were the ones declaring the existence of perhaps the most polarizing character in the Magical World. The Half Blood Prince. I won't say much, but you should know that this book did justice to him. Gave him what he deserved. I was sad that I won't see him again but happy for him. And oh, Voldemort is back. And he has a really bad person by his side. But this time, he is not defeated by the Boy Who Lived. Moving on to the structure of the story, while the characters and concepts are worthy enough to succeed the first seven, the way the story is told isn't. And honestly, for me, it cannot to compare to them. That's proved by the fact that I've read them all five times, and this one only two times. Also, the book ended too soon. I'm not going to talk about the play itself as I've not had the fortune of experiencing it yet, but I've read the book two times so that's what I'm gonna talk about. The play set records in the theatres and won 9 and 6 Lawrence Olivier and Tony Awards respectively, including Best Play, though. Moving on to the book, I'd say that it was not as good as the first seven. But then, it's just a play and not a novel so I suppose that's alright. It didn't have many of the luxuries a novel has, including time. Frankly though, I missed a lot from the first seven while reading it. The whole story just had a different aura than them. There was no warm Christmas, no sweet Butterbeer, no jolly Weasleys, no hilarious mischiefs, and I could go on and on for a while. It did tease me with some Hogwarts scenes and such though. But there actually are some great scenes in the Hogwarts Express, Forbidden Forest, Ministry of Magic and a few other places. I doubt I can write the whole thing in a single post so I'm gonna split it in two parts.
