I can't wait to get to Bringers of Light because a lot of crowns shift and one of my fav shifts is that King Valiance loses a succession trial to his daughter, Persistence. These just contain battling until fainting, succession to the death is only like one or two cases across the domains since every mon counts. But I love this specific succession so much because Valiance's ability is Roaring Flame. In a world where moves are costly and hard to use, Roaring Flame is the Fire type version of a set of abilities that allow that specific type of move to be used freely. Valiance is one of the few Fire types to be able to do that thanks to that ability. and YET he loses to Persistence who doesn't even have a fire boosting ability. She just hits extremely hard. The only aid she has is having Charcoal, known as Dragonscale Charcoal in this universe to make it sound cool and specifically separate from regular charcoal. It's also because it comes in a scale like shape and actually originates from the neighboring Draconic Kingdom.
season 3 Princess Luna is an inspo to her personality. she's generally a more isolative person but that's because she is somewhat intimidating. In the Pyra Kingdom your family is exactly who you are. Embers from the same flame. that applies to royalty. the Pyra Kingdom has the lowest challenges because being a part of the royal family gives more power than in any other domain. there are specifics to the crown or else it would be useless but generally one challenges out of wanting to replace their relative, not out of power. but this also makes the entire family intimidating than in most domains. they are essentially all seen as mini versions of the ruler so they're often treated as if they're the ruler. Persistence is no exception and it makes her and every royal isolated. as a result she's very socially awkward but also feels like she sometimes is walking in eggshells. also it's sometimes hard to confidently break from royalty behavior. she wants to get to know her subjects more but she unintentionally acts very cold and monotonous towards them. she also doesn't want to burden them and being as strong a she is she likes to give the guard breaks, unfortunately the way she says it feels like she's more annoyed when she just wants them to understand she means it so they won't ask many "are you sure?" questions they are mandatory to ask

She was born as a Unovan Zorua and knew Scarlett growing up as they were from the same town, but she quietly ran away and found Starlight City. Due to growing spite for her old hometown and the colder environment, she started developing Hisuian traits, and is now a mix of both forms.

getting scambot messages from random accounts that clearly used to be normal active blogs is sad enough. you know that there used to be a real person on that blog until they were tricked into handing their password to the digital fae.
but it's an entirely new level of tragic when somebody you've actually spoken to gets turned into a bot account. it's like peeking at a zombie apocalypse through the window and realizing one of the shambling corpses was your friend.
and then the zombie catches sight of you, lurches up to your window, and shouts through the glass that they accidentally reported your account to tumblr and you'll be deactivated unless you click this link.
RIP to the blog that used to DM me to tell me they liked my new chapters. Their last known words spoken before being turned, 17 hours ago: "Ggs!" They were praising someone's deadlift.
the message they tried to get me with is probably the same message that got them, so for anybody who hasn't already been warned about the signs of a zombie account:
if you get something like this ↑ they're gonna follow up by instructing you to contact tumblr support on discord and give you contact info; or they're gonna link a website that looks sort of like tumblr support and say you have to email them; or any variety of "you must now contact tumblr, here is how you contact tumblr."
whatever they send you, it Does Not lead to tumblr. it leads to the master zombie that bit them and inducted them into the ranks of the undead, and will bite you the second they have your email and password. i might be confusing zombies and vampires. anyway,
it's easier to fall for these messages because the blog doesn't LOOK like a bot blog, because it ISN'T a bot blog. it's a normal person's blog that got accessed by a bot, meaning the blog's content CLEARLY looks like a real active user when you click on it. and yes—it might even be a blog you already know. sometimes bots like this go down a blog's DMs or reblogs and message people they've previously interacted with.
they got one of my treasured followers, and they can get you too. don't fall for their tricks. know the signs.
there's a group of high school boys in this McDonald's and I just heard one of them say "I bet you you cannae break your own arm" so something interesting might happen shortly
update: they are settling the bet by googling whether or not it's possible for a person to deliberately break their own arm. narratively this is a letdown but I suppose in other ways it's for the best
Sometimes I think about the girl in my college gen chem class who believed all liquids were just particles suspended in water. I just find it very Greek philosopher. Like not only is water a universal solvent, but in fact THE ONLY LIQUID. It kind of charms me as a world view
Thinking about when I worked at a shitty restaurant + one night it was just me + 3 other women on closing shift, so some guy came in the back and waved a knife around, presumably for money but I’m not actually certain, bc he was met with the bartender holding a much bigger knife, a tiny teenager wielding a cast iron pan, an elderly woman holding up a crockpot of clearly boiling water, and me, turning on the meat slicer with eye contact for maximum effect. He left, but the moral of the story is not girl power or whatever, it’s just. Why the fuck would you threaten a room full of underpaid and sleep-deprived blue-collar workers surrounded by lethal weapons.
