Carl feels like he'd have a kangaroo. It works. They're very strong and boxer so it fits with his whole bodyguard job. I think they are also social animals which to me works with Carl very well. Finally Carl's daemon can carry the astrophage baby in their pouch.

Finally, Rocky. Rocky would not have an earthly deamon most likely. But, on the off chance that he did, I think he would have a sea otter of some kind.
