Seriously though, I didn't expect Lysandre to be in this game, let alone with a damaged memory, a wounded body, and genuine remorse for his attempted genocide. It's especially shocking since literally everywhere outside of the mainline games he's pretty much been willing to die for his beliefs, but here? He's a far cry from the self-righteous and entitled supremacist billionaire that he was in X/Y, serving as an ally throughout the game without any intention of reverting.

He acknowledges that he was wrong, he acknowledges that he was on a mission to have the world for himself, he acknowledges that his self-righteous "mission" was just him lashing out against the world. And all of this self-reflection started after he was fcked up, rendered immortal, and saved by Zygarde. Now, he merely wishes to see Zygarde restored to its full strength, and atone for what he's done. Hell, the entire plot of the game revolves around the consequences of his actions as much as it does around the consequences of AZ's actions, both of which he actively tries to help the player clean up. Though he still ultimately wants one thing...

Except this time, it isn't twisted rhetoric....

...it's an actual promise to strive for better.

One of the reasons I want Lysandre back in PLZA is that it would be fun seeing him interacting with AZ, since we never actually got that in XY. (It's kinda funny to imagine Lysandre getting the "FAFO'd and got cursed with immortality" treatment too, and AZ--probably still holding a bit of a grudge after Lysandre threw him in a cage and almost repeated his greatest mistake--being like "Well, I fucking warned you 🤷‍♀️")
