i keep getting bothered by this cute little fic idea where lion works as a lobsterman in maine & reader works at a little seafood shack in the village where they both live

& one day reader teases him about whether or not he ever gets to eat any of the lobster he catches & he's like...*turns red* nah

so she uses her employee discount to buy him a lobster roll

going on in the background of this idea, lion & skye are raising her baby together as if it's his, but they're not together anymore; they have a sort of communal living arrangement (sometimes they share a duplex, other times he has his own little apartment in skye's basement/over her garage) where he's able to be right there in his kid's life but they're able to have separate living spaces

(i imagine an eventual conversation between skye and reader where she's like...he really likes you, you know; also, by the way, do not hurt my baby daddy's heart or we are going to have some serious problems in this picturesque little maine town---i see them, in a story like this one, ending up as ride-or-die besties)

Sergeant Thomas Kitching, who served with the 12th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry, had his left leg shattered when wounded on the Somme on the 7th of July 1916. The brooch, together with a portrait of Sgt Kitching and postcards were sent to his sweetheart Lizzie Hunter, at her Birtley, County Durham address. He survived the war and went on to marry Lizzie in Chester-le-Street, County Durham, shortly after the war ended in 1918.

I cannot express to you how FAST it has gone. I grew up in a world that does not exist now. We're starting on the path to reverse it, globally. You might not know how much solar has EXPLODED in the last decade or two. It's gone from a side thing, a weirdo novelty that was just Not Viable... to whole countries investing in infrastructure. but we have to keep fighting big oil and fascism everywhere we can in order to keep on this road to a new better less scorching burning earth.

But any time you wonder wtf the weather is doing- THIS IS NOT NORMAL, NO. THIS IS NOT WHAT IT WAS EVEN TWENTY YEARS AGO.

I always think of writing like removing one of those long water worm things. You know those parasites that live in rivers and they grow under someone's skin and to get rid of them you have to pull them out bit by bit, wrapping the end around a stick? Writing is like that. Fucking sucks to do, but if you don't then you're just living with a big ole worm in your arm. Which is worse.

i liked it a lot! though i don't understand the sweaty fandom fervor over it (it's been all over my fyp for MONTHS) i can appreciate the love; it just doesn't tickle my creative bone at all

ryland grace is adorable and i love him...he reminds me of my dad, actually (big juicy wrinkly brain but kind of a loner)

fave character is eva stratt, no question. i find her overall demeanor and choices very relatable; it is hard to do the right thing and sometimes the right thing looks like making choices for people who aren't interested in why you're doing it (said every mother ever, i think). i vibe hard with her stern mom energy
