Somebody on the medical team put him on his bunk in a wrong way...
I refuse to draw him in pants btw
Sometimes you'll see writing advice online that'll make you feel defensive or uncomfortable.
Sit with that feeling. Examine it. Do you disagree with the advice or does it just make you feel bad about your writing?
The advice is not a call to arms for you specifically; you do not have to listen to it or argue against it. Ultimately, you are writing for yourself.
But if you want your work to have a big audience, you need to experiment and give your writing room to grow. It may be helpful to consider that advice and the responses it's gotten to see if it's something you should at least try.
not to be rude but if you’re losing consciousness you should dial for an ambulance not just use the computer.
I would liveblog Anything
I’ve been showing my hamster your blog and it seems to really like it, biting at the screen. I also have a hamster(the small animal kind) too and he seems to like your blog as well
the fuck is the first hamster then

I'm tired of pretending it's not literally fucking fine to read a character as transfem because they are feminine. why are transfem headcanons the only ones that require a burden of proof to you? don't worry, you don't have to tell me. I already know why.
what if it was called magic the slathering and it was about lotions and ointments
Then you'd never stop hearing about proper card sleeves for even a second.
at work we have a bartender named tyler and he collects wine corks so we put them in a little box for him and another bartender makes fun of him cause his t’s look like l’s so she wrote “lyler’s corks” and i saw it this morning and i grabbed a marker and changed the ‘c’ to a ‘g’
and after he left a bartender came up to me and said “aww lyler left his gorks” and i lost it
explained to an 8 year old that once a fruit is ripe you only have so much time until it rots so you have to eat it soon and she said so i'll never be able to keep it perfect like this forever? no and there are about a million pieces of art for you unrelatedly

imo the best way to interpret those “real people don’t do x” writing advice posts is “most people don’t do x, so if a character does x, it should be a distinguishing trait.” human behavior is infinitely varied; for any x, there are real people who do x. we can’t make absolute statements. we can, however, make probabilistic ones.
for example, most people don’t address each other by name in the middle of a casual conversation. if all your characters do that, your dialogue will sound stilted and unnatural. but if just one character does that, then it tells us something about that character.
adding to this. the probabilistic framing is great but there’s another layer: fiction is working under serious time and space constraints. grief in real life might look like eating cereal at 11pm and forgetting to answer texts for a week. you don’t always have a week. so characters end up doing things that are statistically rare but emotionally efficient, and that’s not bad writing, that’s compression. the name-dropping dialogue thing is still a crutch though, because it’s not compressing anything, it’s just substituting for actual voice work. heightened behavior = often necessary. heightened language = usually lazy.
Burger queen divorced him
i think avoidance is such a little-recognized ocd compulsion. all the time i talk to people with ocd who are like "i was always having intrusive thoughts about using kitchen knives and harming myself or others but i'm okay now because i just stopped using knives ever 👍 so i'm good now"
and i'm like unfortunately i have bad news.
if you don't know why this doesn't work, the issue is that ocd never stops when you implement a compulsion. it evolves. today you've "solved" it by never using a knife again (and losing access to an important cooking tool, thus limiting an aspect of your life) but in a few months or a year it'll be that forks are dangerous too. and hey, isn't it risky to use the stove? avoidance will even begin to manifest in places you might not recognize.
the point is that OCD compulsions are never solutions, they're actually the problems. the intrusive thoughts SEEM like the problem and the compulsions FEEL like the solution. and that's how it getsya.
i once saw a serial killer on the news wearing green and became fixated on the obsession that if i wore green it would like. hypnotize me into serial killing in my sleep (???) so i didn't wear the color green for an entire year. and of course being OCD i knew how "stupid" that was and that i wouldn't actually be effected by green clothes. i didn't actually believe that! but the fear didn't need to be real; the distress was real.
looking back it's so funny. like. dude my eyes are green. i was never safe hahahaaaa
