Yeah I saw that and Iâd seen some parents who do RIE parenting (respectful parenting that Iâm trying to do with George) and I love the idea behind it. I donât know how practical it is all the time because a lot of times kids will say no just to say no.
But I do think itâs an important practice. Truly trying to understand how little autonomy kids usually given over their bodies. Taking a moment to check in with your child to make sure theyâre on board with whatâs happening to them and explaining why you need to do what youâre doing.
Iâve been putting off even looking at the email because the fact that my kidâs school is coming back full time in less than three weeks makes me sick to my stomachÂ
the principal saying she consulted with âmany stakeholdersâ makes me sick to my stomachÂ
caught between the rock of âI want her to academically keep up with her classmatesâ and âI want her outside of a classroom at least four days a weekâÂ
thank you friend and yeah, same coin different side tbh? my kidâs surrogate grandma teaches college and is desperately trying to get online courses only this fall because her mom is going into hospice and she wonât get to visit her if she canât isolate herself
like. we donât need to be doing this. we could have spent this summer developing an *actual* online learning plan and passing *actual* relief so parents can stay home with their kidsÂ
