Look how on purpose that shit looks once it’s all browned and crispy! Genuinely delighted. :) And it ended up tasting exactly as good as it smelled.

Pickled partner is also making beer, eventually, I don’t where exactly...

I've decided making alcohol is like canning and therefore I can justify posting these here as well... also it's my blog so whatever.

Things I get irrationally excited for include lids that actually fit my hoard of vintage jars.

This was supposed to be cara cara honey marmalade but it didn't set and I hated every part of it and now I have a bunch of jars of runny lame orange goop. (Supremeing these was a nightmare).

Edited to add: ^^these all hold 425ml, which is interesting because the woman who sells elixir in the jar on the left claims “it doesn’t hold as much as a brand name pint so you should really buy the quart because it’s a better deal”. Sure Melinda.

But a pie! ...damn, now I want pie.
