light entertainment is what dan himself labelled much of their content ahah. like when describing why he was able to find coming back to making dnp content with phil meaningful, it was because of his own now-developed understanding of the "power of light entertainment". it's a sentiment i think a lot of ppl connected to.. and was really significant to hear come from dan T__T <3.. so when i talk about light entertainment, it's a positive moniker.....

please dont worry, i didnt take your ask as aggressive lol i hope you didnt take my response as such! if i didnt think it wasnt worth a conversation i wouldnt have responded. i think i would describe myself as disappointed with the general current direction yeah.. i mean you can probably scroll through my posts for any complaints over the last several months to get a fuller and more specific picture LOLL bc god knows ive expressed them but post-hl dan and phil is pretty much everything i was hoping the rebrand was not going to be, pre-hl. and thats fine ive also talked a lot about how i think they 100% are within their rights to capitalize off of this moment, make some good coin while they can, employ help to make their lives easier, and just play the algorithm game hard like theyve never done before for a while. and theyre doing all that. and i have to stress im still having fun! except for the rare really bad video (like that product trying one LMFAO) im never not watching them with at least a bit of a smile, and the modern era has also produced some eternal classics of its own. but like i said a few posts ago now that the novelty has worn off, literally everything theyre doing right now exposes their weaknesses as entertainers and that has become grating at the same time of having some surface-level fun. i dont think it's going to be like this forever (ive said this before but i really do think they see this current era as a business move because theyre confident they have time for whatever they dream of down the line once it slows down) but for the time, yeah lol, it's the direction itself i would say im not for
