How do I explain I enjoy a media but not in a “I like playing this game and working on it all the time and supporting the devs” and more of a “I took these characters and gave them very specific headcanons and lives that likely don’t fit into canon but they do not deserve their source material anyways, therefore I am an enjoyer of the character and the story but not the game itself”

I know people reaaallly want she-ra to be gay in the new continuity but this is one of those cases that i don't really. Care. Like yeah her being gay would be cool but like. SPOP was not good enough for you people to be this insane about Adora's sexuality. I couldn't care less about whether she ends up with Catra or Sea Hawk. Idgaf. I don't care. I'm just happy we're getting more Etheriaverse content.

[ID: Firestar from Warrior Cats with his tail on fire. The text reads, "Ssoen kafyar-ul ulnyams ssarshefpa," which is "Fire Alone will save the Clans" in Clanmew]
The man, the myth, the legend. Bringer of change, righter of ancient wrongs, ancestral patron of fire and of breaking bad habits.
Clanmew Name: Kafyarbabi, Kafyarshai
[Wildfire + Heartbeating = Behaves like a wildfire.]
Chelford cats do not track paternity. It's not known who Firestar's father is, and it's probably not Jake anyway.
Firestar is aromantic. He is platonic co-parents with Sandstorm. He did not realize he was aromatic when he was seeing Onewhisker.
Other Clans consider him nosy. He's always trying to help out others, even when their sense of pride makes them hesitate to accept it.
Incorrigible. If he thinks he's right, you can't stop him. He also thinks it's important to make sure his Clan is well cared-for and doesn't give in to fear.
His personality is very passionate and outgoing.
Bonefall TPB:
To begin with, Rusty had to learn a new language to join the Clans. Clanmew and Townmew are sister languages but there was still a learning curve.
Spottedleaf was a big sister figure to him, she taught him how to connect with StarClan, what the rules are, and how to break them.
Bluestar left a deep impact on him as his mentor, she was the inventor of the mercy and grace which comes to define Fire Alone.
Like canon, he opposes Tigerclaw at every step once he realizes the cruelty within him.
Unlike canon, Better Bones is about having a strong anti-authoritarian stance, and to do that there's even MORE allies that Firestar connects with.
Oakfur, Stumptail, and Deerfoot in ShadowClan, and Mosspelt and Dawnflower in RiverClan are all cats who work directly with Fireheart, and were at times his Aftergathering buddies.
The end of Bonefall TPB is the battle with BloodClan, where he spares Scourge by defeating him honorably, ripping his collar off and forcing him to call a retreat.
The thesis of the arc is that Fire Alone can save the Clans because it's a radical change to the xenophobic, authoritarian culture of the Forest Four.
He lost a life in the process, from a huge slash across his chest and shoulder. It's meant to look like a mayoral sash, of sorts. His first deputy was Whitestorm, and after his death, his second was Longtail.
After the battle, he went a step further by bringing the collar back to Scourge as a gift of goodwill. He offered to uphold whatever he could of Tigerstar's Impossible Deal, and was shocked at the simple solution. BloodClan simply wanted things they couldn't get in Chelford; timber, glue, flowers, new types of foods they'd never tasted before.
Together, they forged a trade route that promised a bright future. During the destruction of the forest, Scourge eventually decided to lend his strength to the Clans for their Journey, eventually deciding to retire with them.
Scourge was eventually given the name Iceheart, so that he may live out his days with them in quiet peace.
Firestar's Quietus:
Brokenstar is the guardian spirit of the 5th tree of Fourtrees, which blighted and died after SkyClan's exile
His spirit cannot rest until SkyClan is safe. Firestar gets freakish dreams, Runningnose contacts him, and brings him to the Moonstone to figure this out.
It's there that he learns about Brokenstar trying to break into StarClan to make them do something. On learning that they just let an entire Clan get exiled, Firestar tells them to shove it and agrees to help.
Runningnose gives him a very emotional and significant acorn necklace which channels Brokenstar-- this item becomes important many arcs later.
Broken and Fire go back and forth a lot on what SkyClan should look like, what it needs, and how they should rebuild. The lesson learned is that SkyClan needed help, but can handle its own destiny.
Leafstar and the Warriors of SkyClan are not a Clan like the Forest Four. They will do things their own way, and that is a beautiful thing.
Brokenstar's final action is possessing Firestar's body (establishing the rules of possession for TBC later) to eradicate the rats; which were the earthbound, tormented souls of SkyClan's ancestors.
That's how Brokenstar and Firestar become the saviors of SkyClan
Bonefall Po3, Cruel Season, and Bonefall OotS:
In the episodic revamp of Po3, Firestar is aiding the other Clans through their struggles with the new environment, and helping to raise his grandchildren to be honorable cats.
So, his role is essentially as both the Clan's leader, and as Grandpaw Firestar.
His deputy is Brackenfur, who was promoted after Firestar and Brambleclaw agree that he isn't ready for deputyship yet after his lapse of judgement with Hawkfrost.
Brackenfur is killed towards the end of Po3 in the Battle of the False Eclipse, a trick from Sol, God of Chaos, a preview of the night that is to come where the dead can walk the earth.
Brambleclaw succeeds him.
The Fire Scene is in the in-between book between Po3 and OotS; Cruel Season.
It was started by Whiskernose of WindClan, aided and abetted by Thornclaw and Breezepelt, as an intentional distraction so they could get Firestar alone to kill him on the Dark Forest's orders.
He has one last big scene after his death; coming down from Silverpelt when Jayfeather summons StarClan warriors to fight the Dark Forest.
After winning a rematch with Scourge, Tigerstar finally gets the battle he's always wanted, and Firestar deals with him once and for all.
His Legacy:
He becomes known as the Patron of Fire and Breaking Bad Habits. He's invoked frequently during wet days when it's hard to start a cooking fire.
Firekin are renowned as a family of heroes, something that can cause a lot of pressure for its youngest members.
Fire Alone and Traditionalism are the competing ideologies by the modern era, with support of Thistle Law being kept very quiet.
firesand where sandpaw gets a crush first. she denies it so hard until he likes her back. firesand where fireheart is totally oblivious to sandpaw’s advances. once he realizes she likes him, he starts catching feelings.
firesand where firestar is so badly smitten with sandstorm that he cant think straight around her sometimes. almost every time he sees her he starts acting like an apprentice again. firesand where sandstorm will subtly flirt with him because she thinks it’s funny. she loves being the more forward one.
firesand where firestar is such an anxious parent that he wouldn’t let anybody see the kits, not even cinderpelt at one point. firesand where sandstorm is muuuch more relax and would want the kits to meet as many clanmates as possible when they’re young.
firesand where, in death, they still have their nightly strolls. they watch thunderclan and, very bluntly, prove their spirits never really left.
They are rivals from relatively early into Squirrelpaw's apprenticeship. Squirrelpaw antagonized him first because she thinks of him as the #1 up-and-coming warrior in ThunderClan, and thus a fitting rival for her, the great Squirrelpaw. Brambleclaw would not have normally taken the bait from an apprentice, but he idolizes Firestar, and he feels self conscious about his kin so brazenly challenging him (he wants her to think he's cool so bad, not realizing she already does). They frequently try to show-up one another. Every other cat in the clan is like "oooh they flirting."
Before they're really official (but are totally a couple already), they have their first big fight, about Hawkfrost. Squirrelpaw/flight is right in her purpose but she doesn't articulate it well. She initially has some trouble understanding his complicated relationship with his father, as compared to her healthy relationship with her own (who, again, is also the cat he idolizes). Brambleclaw is too closed off about the fact that he's dealing with a lot of Feelings, because he doesn't want her to see him looking "weak". It's messy and they're both frustrated because they both really like the other one still. Squirrelflight dates Ashfur for a bit, and she really does like and respect him, but he's just not the cat for her.
Eventually they talk things out. Squirrelflight notably does not gloat when her suspicions about Hawkfrost prove to be true, which is an early building block of trust in their relationship. They are over the moon about each other for a while. ThunderClan cats joke for a while that even a rabbit might be impressed by those two. They never stop challenging each other, though, and can frequently be seen competing over the most arbitrary thing. This includes the occasional argument, but they always make up enthusiastically.
When Squirrelflight shows up with kits Bramble is: ecstatic. He's full-on dad mode he's so excited. Things continue to be really happy until the reveal. Brambleclaw feels hurt because in his mind this means that she didn't trust him enough to share the secret. And he feels a misguided sense of loss that his kits are no longer "his". (How he ultimately works this out with each of the Three is a whole separate topic.) He initiates the breakup. Squirrelflight is hurt because she feels that he isn't giving enough consideration to her position. It very much mirrors the Hawkfrost situation in that way.
The break-up is bitter but quiet. They just sort of simmer. Brambleclaw makes it a point to not change how he makes patrols, putting her in charge of a normal amount, but he speaks to her only as required by his duties. She tries to make small-talk on a few occasions, but he quickly finds a reason to excuse himself each time ("Sorry, I need to plan tomorrow's patrols."), so she stops trying.
Bramblestar's Storm? I'm sorry you have the wrong number.
The great battle happens, Firestar dies. Brambleclaw names Squirrelflight his deputy. He has come to understand that his shock at learning that his kits weren't technically his caused him to lash out more than he might otherwise, and feels regretful, but he has a hard time broaching the topic with Squirrelflight. Meetings as leader and deputy start awkwardly strictly functional, but slowly it drifts into them hanging out, them going hunting together, eventually essentially dating again. ThunderClan buzzes with the gossip.
They get back together. Cats who were around remark to those who weren't how it seems like when they were first mates. That includes how the two of them will spend half a day trying to one-up each other on some point about who behaved most appropriately during the interaction at the WindClan border earlier. Alderkit and Sparkkit get SO MUCH ATTENTION when they are born
Squirrelflight's Hope? Never heard of her.
After the events of Broken Code things are very tense. Bramblestar is just... not up to it anymore. Squirrelflight basically has to lead even though she doesn't actually have the authority to and it stresses her out (especially after being acting leader in TBC didn't exactly go smoothly). They fight a lot, but they always nest together. Bramblestar has a hard time getting through the night a lot, and she wants to comfort him.
After Squirrelstar becomes leader and Brambleclaw has retired it's a breath of fresh air. With her officially able to handle clan matters they are happy as can be, and some of the younger cats might describe them as sickeningly sweet together. Brambleclaw dens with the elders during the day but he's in Squirrelstar's den each night. He's able to be the big spoon sometimes again :3
Idk I love them you can't make me not love them no matter how many super editions you write, Erin.
hc that the Gathering island (and Fourtrees before it) is an unofficial but universally recognized "safe space" for meeting up with a cross-clan paramour (purr-a-murr?) when it's not Gathering time. It cannot be explicitly endorsed by the clans' leaders, but since the clans do need some cross-clan relationships for their long-term viability it's a pretty open secret.
What happens on the island stays on the island. Did you see a cat you know when you were there for your own business? No you didn't. Did you notice your newly-pregnant clanmate coming back from that direction frequently over the last moon? No you didn't.
I want to imagine at least one couple was scared out of their fur when the clans all showed up for one of the 700 emergency Gatherings that's happened recently.
