I'm pretty sure the auctioneer in ep 1 said that the failures are 111 albums of audio!
Omg lifesaver I have the memory of a goldfish so I wasn't sure if it was ever said!
I have now rewatched the auction scene and it is confirmed 111 albums. I'm going to presume that Lestat has filled both sides to the maximum on each vinyl since 111 albums of gossip is insane otherwise.
I started by trying to figure out what size the vinyl was (with standard sizes of vinyls coming in 7"/10"/12"). Using the trusty measuring tool of a bendy ruler on my laptop screen, the guy on the left hand side when Lot 2 is being auctioned is around 90mm tall whilst a singular cube of the massive storage thing is about 7mm.
Since the upright vinyl is around 2 cubes tall, I calculated that (if the guy is average height of 175.3cm tall), 1 cube would be 7.78% of average height, so 13.63 cm making the size of the vinyl about 27cm.
Since the 12" is 30cm I went with that.
The maximum audio held by the 12" is 25 minutes per side, and considering the basslines of music usually take up the most space and Lestat is just gossiping I've decided to go with he's got the full 25 minutes.
With two sides each and 111 albums, this would come to 5550 minutes of audio, or 92.5 hours.
I don't know if anybody else has calculated this already but props to them if they have and thank you Anon for the info!!!
How are we only on album 52 though?? Makes me even more anxious for the finale
