me, walking into the kitchen, as my husband is chopping herbs: “wow! how nice! i can really smell the aromatics in here”
so many of the "i only use chat gpt for ___" excuses are concerning because people use it in place of learning basic, valuable skills.
you don't need chat gpt to write professional sounding emails for you, there are many many guides on the internet and with a bit of practise you can learn to write them yourself. a very important skill for a professional to have, and some of the basic rules will carry over into irl conversations!
you don't need chat gpt to be a "more detailed search engine", because you're robbing yourself of the chance to learn how to find and filter information on the internet and evaluate the credibility of sources. which is a VITAL skill. plus, chat gpt is notorious for being wrong?
if you use it to write essays, you're taking away your ability to hone your research skills, your writing skills, your critical thinking skills. your ability to create persuasive arguments!
and for most of the other reasons people use chat gpt, there are non-ai websites for that! for maths, wolfram alpha. for figuring out what you can cook with the ingredients you have there's supercook and the like. for creating routines, there's about a million apps!
whatever you "only" use chatgpt for i promise there are better websites out there that you don't have to worry will produce complete bullshit???? and destroy the environment???
the man who owns and runs the thai restaurant in my town knows me by name. he is one of the kindest and most thoughtful men i know. i started ordering from his place back in january, which was when i got my fibromyalgia diagnosis. back then i was using a walker, had limited mobility in my entire body but especially my hands, and was very visibly in pain. i always ordered the same thing: yellow curry with no meat, potatoes and carrots only (i have texture and other dietary issues). he always made it a point to make sure i could get out the door and carry the food safely. he had his workers package the food so that it was easier for me to open. as i kept coming back and i told him a little bit about my health status, he would always encourage me to keep going. he told me about how the spices he used were good for inflammation and began to edit the recipe just for me so that spices that were even better for fighting inflammation were used. he’d give me extra portions and despite the fact that i would tip every time, i realized later that he never charged my card for them. as time went on and my condition began to get better, especially with the help of a physical therapist, he would make encouraging remarks and tell me how happy he was for me. the day i came in without my walker, he practically jumped for joy, and despite my insistence, he gave me my meal for free that day. i continue to make progress with my conditions and i continue to go to the thai place. this man who does not know me personally and who i hardly know anything about is one of my favorite people. it’s interactions with humans like these that make loving life easier. and his curry really does help my chronic condition. it’s comfort food taken to the next level.

I think that it's really important for people to realize that being disabled is traumatic. genuinely. your body and brain feel like they are breaking down and wrong. you are in constant heavy stress from stuff like chronic pain. most disabled people i know have a somewhat regular emotional break down from the trauma of it all. and we are expected to just smile through it by society, to not be in the way, to not be an issue.
Went to a new rheumatologist because I have been concerned that a bunch of extra symptoms I have are related to the rheumatoid arthritis I got diagnosed with 2 years ago and my previous rheumatologist has been really dismissive, and this new doctor just straight-up doesn’t think I have rheumatoid arthritis and I just
(Note: she isn’t denying that I’m in pain. She thinks it’s a combination of hypermobility causing joint instability and maybe fibromyalgia? But I am so darn confused at this point.)
every time i go to a new doctor, by referrals or whatever, they either tell me they have no idea what they could do, say it’s my fault because i’ve gained weight, or try to diagnose me with something else but always ending up back at the original.
Came across this on the cover of an old magazine at work today. It was published in Epic magazine in the early 1980s. It’s called ‘Self Portrait, with Wings’ by Barry Windsor-Smith.
instagram and apple having stickers has gotten me really into collages. i call this style the “deconstructed selfie”

"everyone should care about accessibility because most people will become disabled at some point in their life" is a logical argument and I understand its popularity
however, everyone should care about accessibility because disabled people are fellow human beings living in the same society as you who deserve the same rights as you
thank you good night

Adventure Time: Links Between Real Elements, Tarot, and Personality Types
In summary, these are the relationships between each element, the real life elements they respond to, and other associations:
Firstly, the parallels between the four elements in the show and the four elements in real life.
In the present day of the show, the candy elemental is Princess Bubblegum, a powerful and dominating but genius leader of the candy kingdom. The element air (in certain contexts) represents intellect, the mind, and the potential for great strength and power.
the question of who prismos boss is has fucked with me for a while but i have 4 theories.
1. is it’s someone we don’t know of
2. it’s golbetty
3. it’s pendleton ward creator of adventure time but my fourth theory is what i’m making this post about.
4. Martin Mertens. in the season 6 finale hot diggity doom finn breaks open the catalyst comet and it offers him a new mode of existence, finn rejects it but martin accepts it in his place. what if that new mode of existence is being the boss of all the extra dimensional beings? we don’t hear about prismo having a boss till after that episode.
things that make me very emotional as a young adult that i never thought would mean this much to me:
• a good sparkling water, nice and cold
• organizational bins for various items (including cans of sparkling water)
• cleaning supplies that smell like my favorite smells (i’ve learned how to make some myself)
• bathtime (again a place of good smells, i get very moisturized, it’s a ritual to me)
is this what growing up is meant to be?
I thought it would be an hour of listening to screaming and looking at pictures of draculas, but it was so much for frightening than fathomed

I need to run a survey really quick. This isn't serious, but I need people to cooperate and not cheat for the sake of it because it'll skew the results.
Imagine you wake up tomorrow and you realize you (and everyone else in the world) can turn into an animal (And back into a human) at will.
Please go to this link to see what animal it will be for you:
Generated a random animal species: A goat, armadillo, orangutan, porpoise, cheetah... Nearly 200 different animals!
(this is random, and yes, you only get one, no redos)
With this in mind, please reply to the following questions as truthfully as possible based on your current situation. (Not an ideal fantasy one.)
How do you feel about this, in general?
Good! I like this animal.
Okay. I'm not thrilled but not disappointed.
Meh. Not the worst.
Not great. I'm pretty disappointed.
Horrible. This is my worst nightmare.
It's complicated./I'm conflicted.
How often would you turn into this animal?
Pretty often, just for fun.
Pretty often, for a specific task.
Sometimes, just for fun.
Sometimes, to do something a human cannot.
Rarely, but still for fun.
Rarely, only if I absolutely need to.
How open would you be about what animal you are?
I'd tell anyone and everyone!
I'd tell my friends and family.
I'd tell my closer friends and family.
I'd try to keep it mostly secret.
I'd prefer not to tell anyone, ever.
if anyone ever tries to tell you SH*T about your body, “not being good enough”, i encourage you to think of my cat juno. she is plump, wrinkly, proud, stinky, beautiful, bossy, and loved. no one can tell me that she is not a perfect cat. she is a brat and only does what she wants, and i aspire to be like her! she reminds me every day that my belly rolls are adorable, because if i can look at her and only see love, there is no reason i cannot do the same thing for myself.
