ontologically is literally, ethereal is pretty, POV is pretend, junkie is addict, satire is parody, parody is mockery, death threat is hate mail, gaslighting is convincing, manipulative is abusive, abusive is toxic, toxic is problematic, problematic is annoying. write that down
dawg i literally dont want the world to see me cuz i dont honestly think they'd understand
Anyone who cleans public restrooms should automatically make $100/hr
the double standard of what women characters have to do to be considered remotely interesting by fandom is actually insane. you will legit have a woman with super hot character design, the most intriguing backstory, and/or incredible drive and skill--all things that would get people writing books worth of fanfic and meta for men. but this will be utterly ignored if a man in her vicinity is, like, funny once

PLURIBUS RHEA SEEHORN as CAROL STURKA in Season 1
the entire kusimayu scene was devastating but to me the worst part was that by Joining she not only lost her individuality but her culture died with her. immediately the hivemind stopped chanting and singing and speaking the quechuan language and rolled up their blankets and packed up their things and walked away. the animals were set free and the goat that kusimayu had been cradling so lovingly just minutes earlier chased after the hivemind wearing kusimayu's body and bleated for attention and love and got none because there is no one left to care specifically enough to give it.
it's funny to me that in the original idea for pluribus vince gilligan intended for it to have a male protagonist but then he was like i really wanna work with rhea seehorn again so he made it about a lesbian instead. more writers should be doing this if you're considering writing a man stop what you're doing and make him a woman immediately
see carol is right to be freaked out but i also think that deliberately framing her with a huge 'president of the united states of america' flag while she tries to impose her worldview to several people who come from different countries of the global south has to be an intentional choice
i haven't seen anyone else say this, but Carol is very obviously written as a privileged, american white woman first and foremost.
Like the fact that she asked to speak to the english speakers only, with no thoughts to the other survivors.
But the show is not subtle in showing that she speaks from a position of privilege; there's examples everywhere.
When told that the world is now at peace, she doesn't care. Because she doesn't know War. She has no idea what peace is really worth, because she's never had to live without it.
When told there's no inequalities anymore, she again bats the idea away- Because she lives in a big house, in a nice suburban area, and has enough money (that she earns by doing what's probably her dream job) to treat herself and her wife to a vacation in a famous hotel in Sweden.
All this to say: yes, the flag is intentional

i love all the symbolism in pluribus!! carol who writes fantasy novels and despite her best efforts, she sees a human body and attaches a personality to it! an identity! she’s writing the hive as an antagonist and herself and sometimes even zosia as the protagonists! she learns about other survivors and starts filling in the blanks about what they want, we’ve all seen this movie she says, she’s already outlined the plot before the exposition was even done!! meanwhile manousos runs a storage facility!! he tells the hive that they own nothing on earth and therefore have nothing to give him, he sees all these human bodies as empty containers holding space for humanity to return to just like the storage lockers! he’s refusing to engage with them, just like he refused for days to forage out of the storage lockers, because each act is an equal crime; talking to his mother’s body when she’s not in it is a form of trespassing and theft, just like breaking into someone’s storage and taking from it. GOD i love this show!
[walks up to a pair of 40somethings] so which one of you is trying to walk across the most hostile geography in the western hemisphere in your work clothes with no water and which one of you is trying to commit suicide by firework
question for the people that think being late to everything is a funny personality trait. how does it feel to know you’re annoying as fuck
pregnancy during apocalypse trope is CRAZYYY to me like why are you letting him come inside you girl???? now is NOT the time.
I do not want the ai overview. I want to read six wikipedia pages as god intended.

I think it’s normal for people to be mad at each other sometimes even if they’re close friends or family or intimate with each other. Like I think that’s a normal and healthy part of relationships that can happen sometimes
“Why were you on Mad At Me island” because at the time I was mad at you and yet our friendship has weathered that without trouble
truly feel like cynical people are missing the point. yeah the world is fucked up, and yeah it seems hopeless most of the time. but babe, my best friends live here and I’m never going to stop trying to make a better world for them, even if the deck is stacked against me, and neither should you.Â
