I think he would go off like a nuclear bomb and take the rest of Huan Hua with him. Poor Shen Yuan wakes up in the mushroom body and there’s a massive unexplained crater in the middle of the map.

Day 1 for @natsumeweek: Hope/Loss

I often think about the fact that Reiko had no idea when she was making the Book of Friends that she would bring someone so far into the future (that she never got to see *sobs*) so much comfort.

I love learning about her through the bits of youkai memories Takashi sees when returning names.

I wanted to convey the uncertainty she must have felt by having Reiko face away from the light and into the misty forest as she collects more and more names to fill the void of loneliness. While also having Takashi facing the sun but turned away to see his late grandmother's life and experience.

I just love watching him grow as a person and the people (and spirits) growing around him <3<3<3<3

Day 2 for @natsumeweek: Time Passing/New Beginnings

I think as Takashi gets older, he would have nearly returned all the names left behind by his grandmother. I'm not sure if he would have children of his own (I feel like he would be the type that he wouldn't want his children to suffer the things he went through, so he wouldn't have any. Even if he fantasizes about having his own family and giving back the love and care he received from the Fujiwaras).

I digress.

He would have found an heir to give back the names. Whether they were Kaname's child, Natori's child, or a spiritually gifted child he adopted (the details are not concrete).

While he wouldn't be as limber, thanks to the passage of time, he would still be incredibly strong spiritually and would follow after his heir to return the names for as long as he is able while teaching them how to interact with spirits safely (simultaneously fostering their love for the spirits and making sure the ones who consider him a friend would continue to look after his heir when he eventually passes).

Meanwhile, Madara would be happy to tag along for as long as Takashi is alive. After all, even a hundred years spent beside a human is but a blink of an eye for him.

He doesn't notice how old Takashi is getting except in the way he moves (or if he squints and looks closely). The sighs when he gets to sit down grow more and more frequent, Takashi groaning when he gets up in the morning and has to stretch his body, etc.

He wouldn't spend long thinking about such things, however. Any time he would, he'd settle onto Takashi's lap and enjoy familiar hands combing through his fur.

Day 3 for @natsumeweek: Familiar

I know we all love Takashi dressed as a familiar and I am no exception v.v

I had a simple pose of him standing with his hands clasped in front of him and his head tilted cutely but I wasn't satisfied with that and decided to try a much more dynamic pose. I'm so glad I did! Was a lot of fun and I've learned that I should probably look up references in advance bc this is all based on my imagination bc NONE of the references I found were what I wanted (likely poor query choice: "computah show me pictures of dynamic running refs")

I have two versions. The simple "stamp" version and the much larger version with a background and Nyanko waiting for him to climb aboard just on the edge of the canvas <3<3

I imagine he is running away from the exorcists trying to capture him for either helping a spirit present at their gathering, or bc they believe he is actually a strong spirit broken free of whichever exorcist brought him there (Natori or Matoba).

Day 4 of @natsumeweek : Monochrome

I have always wanted to draw Madara like he was drawn on an ancient scroll depicting a mighty and fearsome youkai and so I did my best to fulfill that dream!

I have often thought that Takashi was used to the grey floors, the dreary sidewalks, keeping his eyes low for fear that he would see a youkai and invite them into his life for them to cause trouble.

Until the first spirit appeared that was too powerful to be chased off but not so overwhelming that a solid punch wouldn't take him down a peg: Madara.

Despite Madara's monochrome design (barring the bits of red and his golden eyes), he has helped Takashi see so much color. Perhaps that is why he only has two colors accompanying his black and white design?

The few colors he is adorned with were but an introduction to the colorful world of youkai that Takashi has come to love as much as his human world.

Madara was the first one Takashi felt he could rely on entirely (other than himself). He was the first one who learned about Takashi and boldly confronted him about his traits and shortcomings (perceived or actual): his fears, his nightmares, his kindness, his forgiveness, his temper. Madara was the first to teach him the ways of spirits in any meaningful way.

Ever the faithful guardian, Madara is Takashi's most loyal companion.

Day 5 of @natsumeweek : Goodbyes

I like to think in that moment, when Takashi is grieving what few memories he has left of his childhood home and of his late father, that perhaps his father's spirit was watching from beyond a place that even Takashi can see. I also added ghostly flowers in the yard that his father had been planning to make bloom in honor of his wife/Takashi's mother.

With this, I think I've managed to catch up to actually be on time for the next post. I was able to get out of work early to complete 2 pieces in one day.

On that note!! I am super excited to draw tomorrow's prompt: Legends!

That was the only prompt I knew right off that bat what I wanted to do!!

Day 6 of @natsumeweek : Legends

This was the piece I had envisioned for today's prompt. Though... I will have to go back and do a final lineart version. This was all I had time to put together after work TvT

(What I wanted is def worth more than 2 hours so I will post a clean version whenever I get around to doing that orz)

When I saw this prompt I immediately thought of the youkai parade/"Night Parade of One Hundred Demons"

While I don't think that Takashi would be keen on flying through the air with over a hundred youkai, I think if his friends saw him, they'd be inclined to join him (and if the sight has local exorcists clutching their protective talismans then they'd be even more interested in joining xD)
