A Cacophony of Mind

I think the best tumblr interaction I've ever had was when i replied to some post and referred to bigots with cute cartoon icons as "picrew racists" and this other person materialized out of NOWHERE to call me ableist and queerphobic because most people who use picrew are neurodivergent and nonbinary people. I was like, "i don't think that's true and also I am neurodivergent nonbinary people, what the fuck are you talking about", and they said VER BATIM "classic DARVO tactic" and were like why don't you just call me a slur or threaten me with violence since you're such an abuser or whatever, and I was like "I WAS JUST SAYING ITS FUNNY WHEN A BAD PERSON HAS A CUTE CARTOON ICON" and they immediately DM'd me their ENTIRE LEGAL STREET ADDRESS so I could doxx them or hurt them or something since I "clearly wanted to." Like that fast, like 2-3 replies. Pure unadulterated tumblr condensed into such a succinct exchange. 🤌 can't get that anywhere else baby.

Tumblr is the reason why I have something I call the cashier test which is, if i told this to a random cashier at the grocery store, would they think you're crazy at best or at worst would they be warranted in leaping over the counter and beating the shit out of you. Karl Marx mpreg is crazy, but not beating the shit out of you crazy. The cashier will probably talk about you to their coworkers and it might even make their day. Telling someone they're complicit in their own oppression by working a minimum wage job at a grocery store makes them warranted in leaping over the counter to beat the shit out of you.

you learn something new everyday. unless you're a historian. then you learn something old

everyone tells me that ADHD isn't an excuse for being lazy and that there are people with ADHD who have overcome their symptoms and are successful but every day I drag around an invisible dopplegänger of myself who is horrible and listless and always complains. and he is so heavy. I'm ambitious and I'm passionate but he isn't and the problem is that to get anywhere in life I have to grab him by the leg and pull him along the whole way, kicking and screaming, and sometimes it gets exhausting. sometimes he pulls me down with him. and it gets a bit difficult to explain to people why I'm lying down on the floor in pain when they can't see him.

I've never heard ADHD explained this way....but it's such a good depiction of it.
