“Be careful there. You keep doing that, there won’t be enough food for the rest of us.” Malik says sarcastically. 

Though the last comment is enough to make him pause. 

"I get stuck in universes where my money doesn't work all the time." There was a dead look in her eyes. "And a Lunagaron who has a big appetite. And a Cybersnake. And a Zorua. And a Me."

Before the tributes are to take their ultimate places on the podiums in about a week, they were all allowed in to the banquet hall.

There, laid numerous tables filled with appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks made solely for the tributes participating. Vegetarian and Vegan options are available too.

As soon as a table was emptied, the workers replenished it with brand new foods no matter how insatiable or bottomless the tributes' hunger was. No expense spared for the entertainment come 7 days from now.

Malik was one of the first ones to the tables, expecting to see many more flood the large room. He reaches for an appetizer, a small piece of garlic bread with shrimp baked into it and a dash of freshly shredded parmesan and lemon.

Exquisite.

He takes a bite out of it, and nods contently. Seafood wasn't a big part of his diet, but this was well done.

The first person he ends up seeing, he decides to go and talk to. Right after finishing up what was in his hand.

"Yeah." Just ignore the fact that she's shoving food in her bag. More that the bag should hold. "My partner and daughter are going to be watching too."

We had a volunteer for being a victim (I mean, her author volunteered! Don't think the poor OC is too happy about what is happening!)
