when I was like 12 I ran track and played soccer but I gave em up to be a Theatre Kid TM but one day when I was older I started playing a pickup game of soccer and I guess I was rly good bc this coach was like “what the heck....why haven’t you tried out for the soccer team?” And I was like “I don’t know I just didnt” and he told me to come by to try it out bc he’d like me on the team and then I went home instead bc I didn’t particularly feel like so that’s how my life was Almost a YA coming of age sports movie

This isn’t just true when ‘I can’t afford X’ was the literal reason for suicide. It’s also true when ‘I can’t deal with these shitty jobs’, ‘I can’t get the medical treatment I need to not be in pain all the time’, ‘I can’t deal with the constant stress of precarious housing anymore’ etc. Capitalism kills and no amount of mental health awareness alone can fix that.
