hey so when ur talking about omegaverse but espesh a/b/o yous need to leave the slashes in a/b/o if u have to use that term. bcos without the slashes, ur just putting a slur against my ppl (racists shorten the Aboriginal in Aboriginal Australians) all over my dash where i have to constantly see it and that fucking sucks, my guys
and i know most of yous didnt know this and thats fine! no need to apologise im not trying to make u feel bad, im just trying to navigate fandom and this website without being constantly exposed to a really awful racist slur
if u have to use that specific term, at least keep the slashes between the letters. it still sucks to see tho ngl. even better! stick to omegaverse or instead use aob (alpha-omega-beta) (imo its also nicer to pronounce; ay-oh-bee. ayo-bee)
anyway, pls spread awareness and (nicely) let ppl know when theyre using a racist slur for a fandom term

I've seen a bunch of "fandom etiquette" posts on my dash today and I'm going to say something that is maybe going to be unpopular but;
The absolutely pervasive mentality that unwanted criticism or critique shouldn't be given and should be ignored is why fans of color don't stay in fan spaces.
And I am not going to mince words here:
A lot of you are racist. A lot of your fan works are racist.
That might have been difficult to hear. And if it was, you should probably reflect on why that was.
"Fandom etiquette" has created a space where fans of color either bite our tongues and eventually leave or say something, get dogged on, and then eventually leave.
So much of "fandom etiquette" seems to be about insulating creatives from Feeling Bad and hostility to any kind of negative feedback is a pretty big contributor to why bigotry festers in these spaces.
#imo the potluck analogy applies- it would be rude to critique someone's icing technique at a potluck bc it wasn't as good as at the bakery #but if they had decorated their cupcakes w hate symbols it wouldn't be rude to tell them that's gross and gtfo #in fact it would be inappropriate to NOT say anything in that situation #or to complain that another guest who did point it out was 'ruining everyone's potluck' #and pointing out racism in fan works is 100% the second thing not the first! (via destructions-daughter)
There's also a tendency to conflate anyone who critiques general trends with bad faith randos. Like, there is fandom behavior that is 100% racist and should be talked about, but there are also trends of racist/sexist/ableist preferences.
If I say "I am uncomfortable with fandom's tendency to write trans men as feminine and submissive" I do not mean "I think every person who writes feminine submissive trans men should be chased with pitchforks". I don't even mean "any cis-person who writes feminine or submissive trans men should be chased with pitchforks". I mean "I would like writers to seriously think about why this is so common, why they write that, and if it fairly and genuinely engages with what it means to be a trans man, or if they just think it's hot when submissive people have vaginas and didn't want to write omegaverse of m/f".
Similarly, when people say "fandom is systemically less interested in black characters, less willing to give flat black characters rich fanon than flat white characters, and less interested in black characters in ships", the response is not to explain why you, personally, just happen to like popular white guy in that fanon. Your job is to look at yourself and ask if you tend to "just happen to be more interested" in the popular white guy across fandoms, be honest, and start unpacking that. Sometimes it's easier to love the flat character who's already getting 10,000 fics with headcanons and art and meta.
If somebody says "I wish there were more gluten free options at the potluck. I hate always showing up and not finding anything I can eat*", they are not asking you to throw your cake in the trash and weep. They do not want to hear your long speech about how actually this is your grandmother's recipe, and you've tried it with rice flour actually, but it just didn't work. You think about what you can do, and you listen to how they feel.
*The metaphor here not being that you can't read fic that isn't "good rep". The metaphor here is that it can be isolating to be in spaces where nobody is trying to make sure people like you are welcome.

Something neuroscience-y that helps with prose: attention is selective. A character will not notice everything in a room. They will notice what matters to their goal, fear, desire, training, wound, or obsession. A jealous character notices hands. a hungry character notices food. A soldier notices exits. A lonely character notices pairs. Description becomes character when attention has a bias.
One of my favourite series, Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch has a running thread through the books that his main character loves architecture. So we regularly get a tangent about what sort of a building he's in or how much he thinks a house costs, which is a really smart way to add depth to description, especially when that same character is a trained police officer who has been taught to notice things in detail. By adding an element of distraction to his observations it tells us something about who he is. Yes he's good at noticing everything that's plot relevant but he's also easily distracted and has strong opinions on Brutalism.
One of those fandom things that I love is when there’s new characters around and, with the unwavering confidence of an old farmer appraising cattle, fanfic authors take one good look at them, tilt their imaginary hat, and go “Aye. Praise kink, that one. Mighty case of praise kink if I ever saw one.” And everyone else just “aye.”
“I don’t think the Highschool AU is going to come in too strong this year. Fandoms a touch jaded for that. But the hurt/comfort is growin’ thick as weeds and twice as fast. It’ll be a good harvest, fer sure.”
Thinking about a vampire dude bro who won't drink girl blood- because he's afraid it will estroginise him soy products style- getting trapped in a mental cage when he learns vampire dude who only bites other dudes reads as gay
life pro tip: if you happen to be considering purchasing an LG TV or monitor, you possibly want to pick something else! and if you have an LG monitor that has not been plugged into anything in a while, you might want to leave it that way!
if you already have an LG monitor or TV or intend to buy one, you probably want to watch this video and keep an eye on gamers nexus for updates (or anyone else covering the LG spying situation):
posted july 16 2026
LG is doing some bad things. how bad? well. here are some very brief bullet points. I am not an expert, gamers nexus is, see the video for more information than this:
LG monitors (brand new and years old, cheap and expensive) auto-install LG's own adware-spyware called LG Monitor App onto windows 10 and 11 computers. you plug in an LG monitor for video output and this gets installed automatically. no hitting OK, no confirmation, no toggles, NOTHING.
the auto-installed LG Monitor App auto-grants itself access to your internet connection and ALL computer resources. the LG Monitor App has the ability to collect: geolocation data, device data, personal information, online activity data, contact data, and more!
...and it shows pop-up ads! because fuck you
on some affected versions of windows, auto-installed shitware like the LG Monitor App can be prevented by navigating to gpedit.msc -> computer configuration -> administrative templates -> system -> device installation -> prevent automatic download of applications associated with metadata
...but, if your LG monitor already installed the LG Monitor App, this is like closing the barn door after the horse got out. and that horse has the logs of everything you were doing on your computer! someone stop that fucking horse!!!
unrelated to the LG Monitor App, many LG TV owners are now required to tell all household members and guests that their LG TV is recording and processing ALL nearby voices. or else they may be in violation of local eavesdropping and wiretapping laws. for owning a fucking LG TV.
plus, how many businesses, workplaces, public spaces use LG TVs?
allegedly the microphone spying can be turned off by disabling microphone features, but LG has been caught disregarding opt-out settings before.
LG TVs can record everything that happens on the TV, including the video output of connected devices like phones, computers, gaming consoles, anything that happens on the TV screen.
LG was sued for their spying, and as a result of that spying suit, now shows pop-ups saying oops! they got caught spying and intend to continue spying. thanks for buying LG!
as of when the video was posted, there was no list of every spying LG monitor or TV. but this stuff is getting rolled out to more and more LG devices, including those purchased years ago.
and that is the shortest summary I can make of this situation without just summarizing more of the gamers nexus video.
Update: We are working on a follow-up to the LG story and have some disturbing findings re: LG's products. It will take us a while to parse
⬆️posted july 23 2026
gamers nexus is fairly respected in technology journalism. they fly around the world investigating companies that fuck people over and have pressured major companies to make major changes over the years.
so for gamers nexus to say that this LG spying situation is both unprecedented in how uniquely bad it is in this era of spying, and that it gets even worse than their video where they already say to stop buying and using LG products while recanting every prior recommendation for LG products?
“spicy pillow” jokes aside, I think @flowerkrone’s tags deserve a serious reply:
#my old phone looks like this on my shelf lmao #im too scared to touch it to throw it away #idk what trash this even goes into when its at this point
The pillow-shaped object here used to be the phone’s battery. It’s not a battery anymore. Now it’s a balloon full of corrosive, pyrophoric chemicals and hydrogen gas and it’s one puncture away from burning your house down. I am 100% serious. You should be scared to touch it.
But you gotta touch it, because you gotta get it out of your house before the pressure builds up to the point where the balloon pops. This isn’t going to happen soon – there is no need to panic – but it will happen eventually.
And, indeed, it doesn’t go in the ordinary trash. You put this in the ordinary trash and you’re gonna set the garbage truck on fire. Don’t do that to the garbage collectors, their job is hard enough already.
The first thing you need to do is get a fireproof container. The most common household item that qualifies as a fireproof container is a cast-iron cookpot with a cast-iron lid – often sold as a “Dutch oven.” Any other cooking container that’s unreactive, has a very high melting point, and has a lid made of the same materials will also work: enameled or stainless steel, Pyrex with glass lid, etc.
However: Do not use a pot with a PTFE-based non-stick coating. If the battery does explode, the fire will probably be hot enough to degrade a PTFE coating, producing toxic smoke. (Not that you should breathe the smoke from the battery fire either, but PTFE breakdown products are worse.) Do not use a pot made of aluminium or copper. The fire might even get hot enough to melt those.
Whatever container you use, you might have to throw away along with the phone, so don’t use your good Dutch oven for this. Go to a thrift store and buy a cheap one.
Once you have the fireproof container:
Gently pick up the phone and put it in the fireproof container. If possible, gently tape the phone to the bottom of the container to prevent it from bouncing around. Don’t put any padding in there, that’ll just make a fire worse if it does happen. Put the lid on and tape it shut.
Put a label on the container, something like “DEFECTIVE LI-ION BATTERY – FIRE HAZARD”.
It is now reasonably safe to move the container around. However, if the battery does explode, the container is very likely to leak smoke and get hot, so keep it in a well-ventilated area and away from things that will be damaged by heat. Don’t leave it exposed to the weather, either.
You need to find either a hazardous waste disposal site, or an e-waste recycler that will accept defective Li-ion batteries. I can’t help with that because I have no idea where you live.
However, your local fire department, if you have one, will probably be happy to help. Call their non-emergency number. Nothing is on fire yet, so this isn’t an emergency, but things that can easily start a fire are still within the fire department’s responsibilities. Tell them you have a phone with a bulging lithium-ion battery, you put it in a fireproof container, and you want to know how to dispose of it safely.
If the fire department tries to tell you this isn’t dangerous or it’s okay to throw it out in the regular trash (with or without fireproof container), hang up on them and write a cranky letter to your local government representatives, then keep looking for a proper disposal site.
When you do find a a hazardous waste disposal site or an e-waste recycler, call them and make sure they will take defective Li-ion batteries, before showing up. That’s also a good time to ask if they will let you have the fireproof container back.
“Don’t put any padding in there, that’ll just make a fire worse if it does happen.”
“"However: Do not use a pot with a PTFE-based non-stick coating. ”“
That’s a 98% chance of what you have right now. Most crock-pots ARE NON-STICK!
Not to mention, all you just did was make a bigger bomb. Crock-pots are going to shoot shrapnel on top of the fire because you just made a pressure bomb.
Not a single stainless steel pot you have is going to contain that. Shrapnel.
Cast Iron Pan? Congratulations, you just figured out how to make a directional charge. AKA a Claymore. Hope you didn’t just re-tile those floors or have downstairs neighbors.
A Dutch Oven? Sure, now you have a rocket. Brilliant 👏 👏 👏
Unless you live in the country, I promise you, you aren’t far enough away from people or cars to not do serious damage.
And without sand or kitty litter to muffle the blast, you’re ass is just out here fucking with shitty fireworks.
You really want to save lives, call the fire department and tell them it’s an old ACTIVELY EXPANDING lithium battery.
While you’re sitting around trying to figure out which local facility will take your new hot potato, that thing is actively choosing violence.
Because here’s the thing… let’s say you pack it into your new bologna maker.
Now what?
You gonna drive there with an actual bomb in the car?
Good luck. That’s fucking stupid.
Not even natural selection because you’re not just taking yourself off the score board but everyone around you.
Call the fire department. We have enough wildfires in the world, don’t add to the problem.
Or ya know… kill you and everyone around you.
Love yourself, cause you are loved. Don’t make bombs. Be safe.

Yuna Hollander is actually a member of the Japanese Imperial Family. For context, the Japanese Royal line is strictly male only so no women can inherit the throne and any females of the family who marry normal people, have to give up their titles. (Princess Mako famously did this in real life)
So what if Yuna was a Japanese princess?
She went to McGill as a foreign exchange student to study in a place where she could have a few years as a normal person before starting royal duties but fell for the handsome hockey player David while there. Since she is a woman, she isn't going to inherit and although she only has sisters, one of them can have a son to carry the bloodline so she decided to give up her place in the family to marry David and become a commoner.
She is perfectly happy with this outcome and makes a life for herself in Canada. She and David have Shane and although they did occasionally visit some members of her family when Shane was small so Shane could meet his granddad (who happens to be the Emperor), because she gave up her claim, Shane is also technically excluded from the throne and the visits were so low key that people outside Japan forgot she even existed.
Besides, they stopped visiting after a while because Shane's hockey career was taking off.
Unfortunately, the Japanese Imperial Family is facing a succession crisis due to the lack of males in the family line, and inside Japan, Shane is starting to look like a good candidate for the next Crown Prince.
Shane, and the wider Western World, have no idea about any of this. Ilya eventually learns and almost loses his mind.
Shane doesn't understand just how important his family is. Yuna is the oldest daughter of the Emperor but since she became a commoner to marry David, the media and people agreed to leave her alone and in Japan, that wish is respected so Yuna and Shane are not approached by the general public.
Obviously, she bought Shane to meet his family when he was a baby but with the commoner status, they couldn't take part in anything in any ceremonial capacity, so it was all just meetings in private, where everything was more normal. Still very formal but Shane, brought up in a western culture and only seeing this part of his Asian heritage, thinks its normal and he knows that his family was important but not that important.
Shane adores his grandfather and was spoilt rotten whenever he came to Japan and some people even referred to him as a Prince, but it was never taken seriously. Back in Canada, with his anglicized name and habits, it didn't even register to him that he was being treated differently. He is fluent in Japanese but since English and French are the languages of his home, he never paid attention to the honorifics being said to him when he was in Japan. It also helps that he has a Japanese name as well so many people don't connect the Japanese Royal with a white bread name like Shane. Yuna and David, while not keeping things from him, didn't advertise it as they didn't want Shane growing up with an ego or being resentful because he was not in the line to inherit.
As he grew, Shane stopped going to Japan often and although he talked to his Grandparents, aunts and cousins over the phone, he didn't see them in person anymore.
All plans to go back to Japan went out the window when he began preparing for the Prospect Cup, since he was balancing Schoolwork with the possibility of getting drafted (although he does remember one call with his grandfather who told him if Shane wanted to join the AIHL, he had contacts. It didn't occur to Shane at the time that it was odd his grandfather basically offered to get him into the Asian League)
After Shane got drafted, he did plan one trip during his rookie season but it fell apart before he could go. One of his aunts and his cousins came to Canada and America and he did plan to catch up with them but had to pull out due to being on the road for a game (He was a bit annoyed they didn't offer to change the date of their meeting, not realising that it was a state visit and those can't just be changed at random)
After that, a lot of his down time was taken up with growing his career and his friendships with Hayden and JJ (and later, with Ilya) He manages some video calls now since his grandfather is very tech savvy and his parents still go to Japan occasionally and when they do, they bring him back lavish gifts from his grandparents and aunts.
These gifts are so expensive that one time, he showed something he got to JJ and the Pikes and JJ asked if Shane was sure his grandfather wasn't in the Yakuza. It was a joke but Shane definitely put two and two together and got the completely wrong number. He remembered his grandfather's offer to get him into the AIHL and it gives Shane mixed feelings but he eventually decides plausible deniability is the best. If his family is involved in organise crime, he doesn't want to know. So he ignores it.
Things do get a little weird during the Sochi Olympics, especially when Canada vs. Japan. The Japanese players are very weird around Shane, especially when he introduces himself to them using his Japanese name (sans Title) as a gesture of good will, but Shane had chalked it up to the team being nervous to represent their country and if they insisted on bowing to him and avoiding eye contact, well, maybe his reputation as one of the best players managed to make it to Asia.
Sometimes he is approached in the streets of Montreal by Japanese tourists, but he just assumed they were fans of hockey, even if they acted confused when he offered them his autograph.
Eventually he and Ilya are outed and Shane calls his grandfather to tell him. His grandfather is upset and Shane thinks he will have to cut off contact but eventually, dear old granddad comes around (After Yuna has words with her father) What Shane doesn't know is none of his aunts had managed to produce a son meaning there is no heir for two generations and in Japan, there is a lot of talk about him. Some people want him placed back in the line of succession while others hate that he is a half white foreigner.
Even his grandfather is reassessing Shane's position in the family and him being gay is a possible problem. So his relationship with Ilya, even if he doesn't realise it, could be seen as an issue for the future. But his granddad is reasonable and doesn't want to destroy his relationship with Shane over something that might not happen. He even sends a really nice gift for the wedding.
After Shane and Ilya marry and he joins the Centaurs and they win their first Stanley Cup together, the MLH agrees to a Show Game against the AIHL. Since a Japanese team won the Asian League that year, they invited the Centaurs to Tokyo for a match between the two winning teams.
Shane hasn't seen his family in person since he was a kid, he decides he should visit while he is there. Ilya can come with him or join the rest of the Centaurs going to Disney after the game because Shane isn't certain Ilya would enjoy the formal, stuffy atmosphere he remembers from his childhood. Ilya is 1000% down to join Shane because he has also heard the Yakuza rumour from Hayden and Jackie. He is not letting Shane walk into that alone.
They travel to Japan and are surprised to learn the whole team is being housed in a grand hotel paid for by, they assume, the AIHL, and Shane and Ilya have been given the most expensive penthouse (Shane assumes they got the room because Ilya is the Captain and Shane is just there as a perc of being his husband and built in roommate)
Game day begins and the stadium is packed. It seems the whole of Tokyo came out to watch. (Shane doesn't know it but rumours the beloved Emperor's commoner grandson is playing has spread and everyone wants to see him. It's the only way they can satisfy their curiosity about him without breaching the unspoken rule to leave him alone) Shane just wants to show everyone his skills and then they can enjoy the impromptu holiday for a few days before Shane goes to visit his family.
He is surprised when it's announced to the Centaurs that the Emperor of Japan has come to watch the game.
He just about has a heart attack when he skates onto the ice and looks up to the Royal Box to see his grandfather, aunts and cousins sitting there, watching him.
And that's how Shane discovers he is a member of the oldest monarchy in existance.
Guessing this would happen, Yuna is very prepared for Shane's irate phone call and David has to talk Ilya down from a panic attack because he's been there and it's not that bad really. The in-laws are actually nice, if a little strict.
After Ilya recovers, he and the rest of the Centaurs have prime teasing material for Shane for not realising who his family is. They also have bragging rights because they have a legit Prince on their team and 'screw you, Metros, you threw away actual Royality'
(Also, Ilya manages to win over all of Shane's family during their later meeting and now brags that he is the favourite of the Emperor of Japan.)
i love queerplatonic relationships where one of them is aroace and the other isn't. i love when the allo character has a crush that fades over time. i love when they don't care what they are to each other as long as they're together. i love when romance is an option that they don't choose. i love when both aros and allos feel fulfilled without romance or sex.

Finally coming back to concentrate on this (maybe) because @vexbatch has been encouraging me and I've caught up on @coconutjelly's fic and hffff. It was so good. And it immediately gave me ideas so here goes.
The thing is, when I read coconutjelly's recent updates and read the stuff about the vines, I immediately wanted to do some vine stuff for Bernard! But I was stifled on first thought because the Maenards are all baseline human and have no magical powers. And as much as I think that the various places of worship probably do have plants in them, they probably don't have sci-fi/fantasy space vines that hunger for human flesh &/or come. I mean, this IS the DCU, it definitely could happen, buuuuut... then I remembered that Gotham does have a sexy plant situation. A Poison Ivy situation.
I also wanted Kon involved. Because this is allegedly a Timberkon fic and Kon has yet to appear. (And Tim can't rescue Bernard because then Tim would know something's wrong, and that goes for all the Bats too.) But Kon's unlikely to be in Gotham so that leads us to:
[TW: non-con, cult stuff, manipulation, somnophilia (without consent), feminization, misgendering (both well intentioned and deliberate), tentacle porn, dubious consent of the "you were rough bc we told you Bernard wanted it" variety, oviposition, inflation, vines burrowing under skin and into eyes]
It's been... well it's been time since the feathers and the pictures. Since Bernard got filled over and over and over again from all sides and plugged up so none of it leaked out. (It's been even more time since his dick was caged and almost as long since anyone even looked at it. No one makes sure it's not chafing. Why would they when he wakes up with the wounds raw but healing every morning.)
Bernard keeps going to school, to his job in the kitchen, keeps getting fucked over the prep table and the professor's desk. Keeps going on dates with Tim. Keeps pretending he is normal, that nothing is wrong. Keeps smiling because what he's doing is important. Worth it. Everyone says so! And Tim is super smart, if Tim hasn't clocked anything bad then nothing bad is happening right?
But he keeps losing little bits of time here and there. It's fine! He's just tired, falling asleep in class and waking up on his Professor's dick, dressed in lacy lingerie just means his Professor cares about him. He took care to make sure Bernard was safe. Waking up curled in a beanbag chair during a party covered in come and with a blanket tucked around him in a way that restrains him and also frames his caged dick - smeared with lipstick and blood. It shows they want him here, that everyone wants him and trusts him and maybe even respect him and his sacrifice.
So when he wakes up in moving car, he doesn't think anything of it. The plug in him is vibrating and his cock is pressing against the spikes in it's cage. He can feel fabric around him, so he isn't naked. He fumbles for his phone and blinks at the time and the date and realizes he has a date in an hour. He blinks at the driver, one of the Maenards he rarely interacts with, he thinks she's a nurse? He tries to tell her he needs to be dropped at the movie theater but she tells him they have an appointment. He tries again but she says his appointment is very important. That there's someone who they've been trying to get the attention of for years who finally wanted to meet them, meet him specifically. Bernard wants to tell her to reschedule, he wants to go hang out with Tim. To eat popcorn and critique the detective in Wendy the Werewolf Hunter.
His phone lights up and it's Tim.
I'm so sorry, something came up. Raincheck?
And that. The Nurse laughed softly. She asks if that's the first time he's been stood up.
It's not.
Tim is a busy guy. He's got classes and runs Drake Industries and half runs Wayne Enterprises as well. She's right that he's got more to do than pander to Bernard. And Bernard has his own important work to do! And it would've been awkward to sit through the movie with his dick slowly starting to bleed and the buzzing of the plug probably would've distracted other movie-goers.
Bernard only realizes they're on the mainland when the car stops. They are in a vast forest. In the dark. It's creepy. And yet, serene. There's a flicker in the dark and Bernard could swear that was the statue of D behind a tree.
Who'd want to meet here and not at a party?
A low, feminine chuckle answers that question. Every Gothamite who's been within a stone's throw of a park knows that sound. Especially and kid who's run away from home and spent the night on a bench among the carefully curated trees. Bernard hasn't heard Poison Ivy for years but he remembers her low hum when she found him as a teen and her wry chuckle when he hadn't reacted to her with desire. He'd slept safe that night and left her seeds and pits from his fruit for years.
He relaxes all at once. If Poison Ivy worships D then anything he was worried about is probably nonsense. He misses what the Nurse says to Poison Ivy, too busy reeling as the plug's vibrations get stronger and a vine winds its way around his arm to say hi.
(Poison Ivy doesn't worship D. He only realizes later that they bargained with her, bribed her with an assurance of bounty - that if she met with them, they'd ensure a steady supply of "fertilizer" for her garden.)
(Poison Ivy sees a young man, one she vaguely remembers as being sweet to her, pouring lust and loneliness and a desire to be used. She can do that, fulfill his desires. She'd do that for free if he asked.)
He asks. He fumbles for his phone as it buzzes in his pocket and when he sees it he chokes on his breath. He looks over at the women, Ivy looks concerned, the Nurse raises an eyebrow and he remembers how important she said this was and.
well.
"Please, Ms. Ivy, please fill me up. I need. I need the plants. the. the bounty. For my sacrifice."
She frowns at the word sacrifice and he fumbles and backpeddles. "I want to feel it, being one with the plants and being full of nectar."
He can feel himself sweating as the Nurse's face stays impassive and the vibrations kick up another notch and his dick bleeds a little more.
A vine cups his face and he leans into it and Ivy sighs, "who am I to say no to a girl in need."
Bernard blinks. She's. She's not looking at the Nurse, she's looking at Bernard. And he finally realizes he's wearing the lingerie again. With a skirt over it. A little pleated one.
He wants to protest. He isn't a girl. there's nothing wrong with being a girl but he isn't one.
But-
But if it gets Ivy to help with the ritual. Then. Then he can be her good girl for night. He can try to do that. Ivy only likes women? He heard that somewhere maybe. Maybe that's why. He can do that for her. Be a woman so this is good for her.
It even feels a bit good when she calls him pretty.
He leans into the vines cradling his face and relaxes as they loop around his shoulders. He's been tied up so many times that it feels comfortable by now. Still a stretch, always a stretch-
Except that it isn't right now. The way the vines wrap themselves around him is supportive and spreads the strain out and doesn't make his shoulders pull at their sockets. He relaxes even more, leans into Ivy's hand as she calls him her beautiful girl and pulls down his panties as she promises not to ruin them.
She giggles when she sees his dick and Bernard wants to curl up in embarrassment. He wants to tell her to stop when she pets down the top of the cage and calls it his "cute little clit" but when he squirms a vine wraps around his head and slides down his throat and he can't say anything.
The vines wrap tighter and one of them pulls out the plug. Bernard sags in relief at the lack of buzz and feels come start to leak from his ass. Ivy seems delighted and a vine slides into him ("You're already so wet for me!"). He arches as much as he can and feels his body and mind start to go to that blank place that happens when he's tied up and plugged at both ends. Only it isn't the same. There's no pain to this. Ivy stretches him slowly, the vines pulling back if he tightens up or whimpers.
It's weird.
This isn't.
He drags his eyes open and searches the shadows and the statue of D wavers in and out of his sight, it's massive dick taunting him. Maybe, maybe he could-
"She needs more than that" the Nurse says derisively, "she wanted to be overwhelmed."
Ivy just looks at the Nurse and then says, "go home. I will return your pretty little sacrifice when I am finished with her." And when the Nurse opens her mouth to protest, she gets a face full of flowers. "Leave, before I decide my babies need a good fertilizer."
She leaves. Bernard stares after her with wide eyes.
"Do you truly need more, little girl? Or is this enough?" Ivy has a hand on Bernard's cheek and is talking so soft and Bernard wants to tell her that this is enough. That he's crying with how good it feels. How painless.
But.
But it isn't.
It's not just that he knows this is some sort of prep for the ritual. Something to make him the perfect sacrifice. He'd say he needed more just for that. He wants to be the perfect sacrifice. To really live up to what everyone thinks he can do.
But it's also. Not enough. For him. He keeps waiting for the pain. And it isn't coming. And the pleasure seems duller without it. The world seems duller.
The vine slides out of his mouth and he rasps, "please. Please I want more. I want all of it. Everything you can give me."
"Everything?" Ivy sounds intrigued. And a little breathless.
Bernard just lets his head hang and whines a little. And eventually begs with a little, "please!" As the vine in his ass slides over his prostate.
"Oh, little Bee." Ivy sounds soft. And hungry. "You will be the best incubator."
Bernard bites back his questions. The vine in his ass has started milking his prostate and he's too busy sobbing at the sudden, overwhelming pleasure.
"But first we need some fertilizer."
And those are the last words he can actually process because the vines double down on milking him.
Ivy doesn't seem inclined to slide anything back down his throat so all he can hear are his own cries and his head flops forward and he can see the forest floor where his dick has come leaking onto the dirt. Only then it isn't dirt. A large flower blooms from nothing and it's like no flower he's ever seen. Iridescent oranges and reds and pinks on the flowers and the leaves fading into mist. It opens and his come dribbles all over it's stamen and down into the heart of it.
He faintly hears Ivy's murmur and she sounds impressed or approving.
The pleasure is too much, there's still nothing to distract him from it except that it never ends and never peaks. The pain from his cock is too constant, too familiar to stand up to this focus on his own pleasure, something no one does at Parties.
He can tell the vines are changing out sometimes but he can't tell how much time has passed. But eventually a vine slides out that feels as big as an elephant trunk and Ivy is petting his face.
"Are you ready for the most feminine feeling of all?"
Bernard wants to shake his head, to squirm away and beg her not to do it. But he can't. He's exhausted and strung out and wants to be good for her.
She caresses his balls and says "these are dry. All that come fed into my flower and now you're going to experience maternity!"
Bernard whines and she pets his hair and a vine that feels even bigger than the last one nudges at his ass. He trembles because it might break him.
But-
But that's what he wants. What he needs. From this. That's what every little "r" ritual does. He ends up broken by the end. That's what makes it work.
He whines and his mouth gapes open and Ivy smiles at him. The vine at his ass presses in and a different vine, smelling of sweet nectar slides into his mouth. Bernard cries as they pry him open, going deep into him. Deeper than anyone's ever been. Touching places that have never been touched.
And then the vine in his ass bulges. The bulge presses into him and Bernard screams.
By the time the bulge sits deep inside him he's shaking uncontrollably and tears are dripping off his nose. The massive vine retreats and Bernard feels the faintest of hopes but.
But the bulge doesn't move back with it. It stays deep inside him.
Another bulge presses at his ass and Bernard struggles. He fights the vines, trying to get away, push the vines away, clench his ass, something, anything to stop it.
It doesn't work.
Ivy is cooing at him, telling him he's brave and strong such a woman for taking this much.
With three...three seeds in his gut, Ivy presses lightly on his abdomen and makes a soft impressed sound.
"Can you take more?"
And Bernard.
"Please" he begs around the honey vine. He needs to hear her proud voice again. Needs to keep watching the statue of D slowly jerk its cock as it watches. Needs to know that he's done the right thing for the Maenards - his family.
Ivy is delighted and then another seed presses at his ass and Bernard - Bernard breaks.
He doesn't pass out for long. Or he doesn't think it's very long. He feels full, stuffed and stretched and uncomfortable and the massive vine is withdrawing. Ivy is cooing and petting him and he thinks maybe this is fine. Only then a new vine slides into him and Ivy chuckles and says,
"We need to water them, you know."
And liquid starts to spill into him but it's almost a relief. Or rather, it is a relief at first. But it keeps going and going and going.
And then Ivy attaches two little flowers to his chest "to mimic feeding your children" and they tuck on the metal in his nipples and add suction somehow and the liquid won't. Stop.
And then he catches sight of the statue again and it's merging with a tree and-
Ivy screams. Part outrage and part fear.
And the vines holding Bernard suddenly aren't just holding him. They're putting little feelers into his skin, creeping into him the way ivy finds its way through brick and mortar and stone.
The vine in his mouth is sprouting off at his lips and the feelers crawl into his nose and toward his eyes and all he can see is D and all he can feel is the pain of a million crawling vines under his skin and the stretch of his stomach as the fluid keeps coming in him and the way that two of the seeds are pressing on his prostate and -
"My darling, my poor girl! You didn't deserve that. I'm going to rip those cultists apart!"
Ivy's voice filters in with the sun. The vines are gone. Did they even happen? It feels like a hallucination.
Bernard wants to shake his head, to protest that this was exactly what he wanted. And that they aren't cultists. They're his family.
And that he isn't a girl.
But before he can even open his eyes,
"Get away from them!"
And that's. Bernard knows that voice. From teasing Tim about his superhero crush to internet deep dives when he needed a distraction from the endless pulsing in his ass and pain in his dick.
That was Superboy.
Strong arms pick him up and he can't help but nuzzle into those pecs. Mmmm.
Fuck. His dick screams at him and his ass clenches around- something. And his gut sloshes.
Superboy asks something. Probably where to go.
Bernard tells him the dorm. It's probably not safe to have him land at one of the Party sites.
Not that Bernard thinks about why he doesn't want that.
Nope. He's thinking about strong arms and a thick chest and a rumbly voice. And how he's going to brag that while Tim was off doing CEO stuff, Bernard got a date with Superboy.
[sidebar to say, because I really like Poison Ivy, she thinks he wants the feminization. Either as a gender experience or as a kink. She has no idea that he hates it and would be horrified if she found out.]

So I can’t brush my teeth. Like, it’s the worst kind of hell. I went to the dentist for a cleaning today and I told the hygienist this, and she was wonderfully helpful.
There are some incredibly soft toothbrushes available- namely, post-surgical brushes. Running them under hot water makes them even softer.
She told me that you don’t really need to use toothpaste- it’s mostly marketing. The foam gets to me, so that is really reassuring.
She gave me two particularly soft brushes and some xylitol gum. Trident is a market brand of xylitol gum, which helps with your teeth and can make your breath smell better.
The whole purpose of brushing is to disrupt plaque buildup. You don’t need to brush twice a day, every day with toothpaste if you brush correctly- little circles, focusing on near the gums (where most plaque builds up). So if you’re having a bad sensory day and can’t brush at all, it’s not the end of the world.
Hell, you don’t even need a toothbrush if even the post-surgical ones are too harsh. Going over your teeth with the same motions using a washcloth is enough.
She wants to find a fluoride rinse that has a taste I can stand (peppermint is the only mint I can stand) but she’s not particularly worried about it.
I go to Dr. Barr in Chicago. If you can get to the State St. Macy’s, his office is nearby. He’s very kind and patient and really understanding of my needs as an autistic person. The hygienist, I don’t know her name, announced everything she was going to do before she did it, and stopped frequently to see how I was doing.
This is really the only positive dentist I’ve ever had- past dentists have been too rough and not bothered to help find ways I can actually brush.
Basically this is a glowing recommendation for Dr. Barr’s office if you’re autistic, afraid of dentists, or have sensory needs. This is a recommendation even if you don’t have any of those things.
If you were feeling guilty about your brushing habits, either due to sensory issues, pain, allergies, executive dysfunction, or just plain fatigue, here’s what you need to know about what is and isn’t necessary if your dental care!
Post-covid, I got really horrible shit going on with my gag reflex where for some reason the mint flavor of toothpaste (and only toothpaste) would make me gag so hard that I’d throw up. Then I found a kids toothpaste that’s like strawberry flavored or something, but it has the proper adult amount of flouride, so it works for me and I don’t gag much anymore. Here’s an article with some options if you’re like me lol
Dr. Gemma Wheeler lists best non-mint toothpaste options for adults. The list includes those that are truly non mint, without oils or aromas
Also for the people who can’t stand foam, the ingredient you’re looking to avoid is called SLS.
