being a kid and hearing adults say stuff like "woah 2011 was 4 years ago haha" didn't really convey the fucking horror of a youtube video crossing my recommended labelled "9 years ago" and it's from 2017. that's not true. 9 years ago is 2010 or something. don't lie.
"codify" is such a fun word. lawmakers! turn this into a fish

yk what i hate though. is when i find a meme and im like THIS IS SO [cool intimidating mutual i never talk to] I SHOULD SEND IT TO THEM but then i remember ive never talked to them ever and so i cant just like give them a meme out of the blue and so the meme just withers and rots in my camera roll 😔
Reblog if a mutual who's never spoken to you can randomly send you memes that made them think of you.
“oh. oh” in writing is a treasure. I will never stop using it and cherishing it.
things I won’t let ai take away from human writers
em dash
“not x, not y, but z”
short sentence stacking as a stylistic choice
none of these belong to ai. these are all what human writers have been writing since day one, way before ai was invented. ai was trained to mimic how human writers write — so em dash, not x not y but z and short sentence stacking would never have been used by ai at all if ai hadn’t learned and mimicked them from human writers.
no, you are not “fighting against ai” by accusing every work that has em dash, not x not y but z or short sentence stacking in it as ai-generated, you are helping ai harm the writing community by engaging in witch hunt and scaring human writers away from creating/sharing their works for fear of being wrongly accused of using ai.
speculations, accusations and ai witch hunt harm the writing community as much as ai does, if not more.

fuck it. be creative even if you never really *make* anything. write out plot synopses of stories and then move on. design OCs you'll never use. make mood boards and concept art and don't do anything with them. life's too short to forget everything that inspired you and creation doesn't have to be "complete" to be worth the time you put into it.
“I want to write a fic about this but I don’t think anybody will be interested in it” ummm hello excuse me ma’am what do you mean you don’t think anybody will be interested in it??? YOU. YOU ARE INTERESTED IN IT???? write it because YOU are interested in it and YOU want to write about it. fanfic writing should always be first and foremost about YOUR enjoyment, not other people’s.
“you cannot ship these two fictional characters because—” actually I can because they are not real people. they are just toys I play with. you cannot apply real-world morality to fiction or how strangers play with their imaginary toys in their imaginary sandboxes.
you can, however, curate your own internet experience by minding your own business, muting/blocking/scrolling past what upsets you but does not hurt anyone in real life in any way, shape or form.
we need to keep this circulating so it can find the people who are about to stay up for 3 to 4 hours
Actually, you are enough. Even if you don’t work. Or study. Or go out. Or have friends. Or have family. You’re enough because you exist and your existence is enough to be enough because you are not a product. You are not a sum of output. You are not a task to complete. But because you are something the universe wanted and put here even if you’ll never understand why. Somewhere in the cosmos your existence makes a difference, even if it’s not the way others existences do.

An apparently controversial take in today's fandom landscape, but a friendly reminder that just because you ship something in a piece of fiction does not in fact correlate to endorsing that in the real world. Consuming and appreciating media with darker topics is not - as I'm sure some will be shocked to know - the same as excusing those actions in real life. Age gap relationships, dead dove, dubious consent, cheating, extreme violence, etc etc and all the other things I can't think of right now, can and should be explored in fiction without applying those standards to the real world.
If you are struggling to separate fiction from reality, then might I suggest learning about critical thinking and how to apply that, or logging off and looking for some professional help. Fiction and fandom will have topics that are unequivocally taboo and dark, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't exist to promote some sanitised version of a story where nothing bad ever happens. Deep topics promote conversation and analyses, and you never know when learning about these things might help someone learn something that they desperately need to.
tl;dr: fiction and reality are not the same thing, fiction is a safe place to explore darker themes, and for the love of god learn to separate fictional people from real life scenarios
