Everyone tells you to read "Roadside picnic" because it's such an influential and culturally valuable book that inspired hundreds of other pieces of art in various genres and addressed highly important philosophical questions

But no one, not a single soul tells you that you will have the urge to stare into the wall for five hours when you finish it to process everything you've just read

It's been quite some time since I've felt such a deep mix of love and hate towards a book character as I did towards Red Schuhart

#just finished this book the other day while in class #I need to reread at some point #Red Schuart you will be dealt with #in the end he couldn't think of his own words yet those he did think of were selfless #I really really like the concept of the Golden Sphere & its almost mythical status among stalkers as being able to grant any wish one asks #It being a vessel for Red's epiphany is really powerful too...if it really is all powerful #it should be able to figure out what he wanted all along. maybe he knew all along as well.#struggling to articulate this in so many tags but i love this book :)#scifi #roadside picnic

I love making dnd characters like not just the concept but the actual character sheets with friends because it's nice but a little boring sometimes when alone but with friends???? it is so wild bc wdym I had to look up a wheel as a weapon because my friend wanted to use it. wdym I had to watch as the other one rolled a 3 when rolling for stats. it's literally amazing 10/10 recommend it
