How Big Jane influence Little Jane when he holds his hand:
I don't think it's a coincidence how the series emphasizes a lot on the main leads' hands. There have been a lot of shots on their hands in this episode. Every time, Big Jane hold Little Jane's hand, he kind of shift everything between them.
In the classroom, Little Jane told him he forgot about his question last night, but he was lying. He felt embarrassed because of how it ended, but Big Jane doesn't care about that. He wants to be with him. So, he started letting his hand wanders on his tight and finally grabbed Little Jane's hand. It was like he knew, Little Jane didn't forget anything.
When he invited Little Jane in his condo, he did it again. This time, the physical contact is an invitation and a way of flirting. He wants to get Little Jane to accept being his boyfriend. It's a suggestion to accept. By the way, when Little Jane didn't agree to be his boyfriend (yet), Big Jane abruptly stopped holding his hand and left his alone on the keyboard, breaking off the contact.
In the car, Little Jane was asking questions to Big Jane. His friends and the way people behave around Big Jane is starting to make him doubt and he doesn't know who he should trust. He was also starting to feel uncomfortable. I think Big Jane saw it quickly and to soothe his worries, he grabbed his hand and held it. It was as if he was trying to make him forget the topic of their conversation.
Of course during their date for Valentine's day, he held his hand again as a way of flirting. Big Jane is still after becoming Little Jane's boyfriend status. The gesture is more tender and loving here. He even kissed his hand showing the extent of his feelings for Little Jane.
Finally, back in the condo when he was helping Little Jane studying, he decided they had studied enough and it was time for another activity. This time grabbing his hand was a way of conveying his new intention. It's time to stop studying and changing the mood. Little Jane kept touching his hand, while it was slowly moving to his neck. Then, Big Jane touched his face to finally brush his lips and they started to kiss and more. Through his hand and the physical contact it induced, Big Jane made them study something else.
I don't know if the series has any fantasy elements coming, but it sometimes felt like Big Jane's hands were magically influencing Little Jane. In fact, it makes me think of fantastique, "a French term for a literary genre characterized by the intrusion of supernatural elements into the realistic framework of a story, accompanied by uncertainty about their existence". I think it fits this series.
