So I found out from one of my patients that it’s insanely stupidly common for naturalized immigrants to the US to end up with documents that literally just entirely have their incorrect birthday on them purely because the idiots working in the US immigration offices are too fucking stupid to know that we are the only country in the world that uses the month/day/year date format.
So anyway my patient’s birthday was like November 3rd, not March 11th. And she’s actually not 21 for another like several months dude.
In Spain, with French speaking African immigrants, which are the main immigration we have after Latin Americans, occurs that many arrive thirsty, tired and struggling by makeshift boat and Red Cross workers ask them "nombre?" (Name) And they reply their "Nom" (last name) and so many of them have their last name as their First name and the First name as their last name.
Because the first people they encounter do not speak French and somehow nobody has told them to ask "prénom".
Compiled some basic information I know about drawing fat characters for beginners since I've been seeing more talk about absence of really basic traits in a lot of art lately.

"what's the worst thing you can do as an artist" is not "shade with black" or "not use references" or whatever the worst thing you can do as an artist is hate yourself. and that includes the person you used to be
"look at how bad my old art is" "this was so cringe" "it's embarrassing to look at this" what are you gaining here? belatedly being your own bully? is it more acceptable to hate a kid if it's the kid you used to be? shut the fuck up. be kind to yourself or don't say anything at all. people are really not laughing with you when you mock yourself and if they are maybe consider hanging out with nicer people. imo.
this also goes for having your personal blog tags be like "nobody cares (name)" or "shut up (name)" or whatever. why are you being mean to yourself. its not preventing other people from being mean to you just because you get the first shot in it just means you get shot twice. how is that better. how is any of that better
the thing about art is that sometimes you'll be moved to tears by stuff that is not very good
