Her? Is she funny?

When I’ve been upset over something happening in Mexico people have asked me why I get upset when I don’t live there anymore. Picture you move away for college and when you are there you notice your mom started dating that guy that used to beat her up when she was younger. You confront her about it and she says he is nicer than before and bought her groceries, he is also more handsome than before so you stop worrying but keep an eye out. Later you find through other people that she’s beaten several times yet when you confront she says nothing and she’s covered in bruises. You find him on the cover of Time magazine talking about how he saved her but from what? You think. You know she’s being beaten and will possibly die and he’s doing everything for you not to find out, even controlling her internet output. He has so much money, he controls her. You love her and you are completely powerless.

It’s like that. She is my mother and even when I moved I still love her and she’s dying.
