And I'm not arguing that "I have to break myself working because I just don't have the option not to" is an acceptable or privileged situation, but if you can't do that the common alternative to that situation isn't "someone else steps in and provides the support and resources you need" as often as it's "you starve and rot in your own filth until you die from neglect"
using violence to liberate people from sweatshops, unsafe mines, and grinding poverty isn't the same as using violence to impose those things on people. the idea that violence is morally repugnant regardless of context is a belief that every oppressor throughout history would love for the oppressed to hold
IMO This is on the same vein as vague anti authoritarianism beliefs without the specific end of it being capitalist authoritarianism. It’s presented as revolutionary or “leftist” to be against blanket authoritarianism by people who also claim to be proponents of revolution, something completely incompatible w this belief (I blame Bradbury and left deviation revisionism). Any political action is an imposition of authority, and the highest imposition of authority is warfare, revolution being the height of it. The imposition of will over others, specifically capitalists -including liberals willfully ignorant of their position- is an utter necessity in ending the most horrific, inhumane acts of systemic murder, brutalization, and exploitation. It will not end without the imposition of will over those propagating it. therefore, opposing all forms of ‘will of power’ over a group just immediately defangs revolutionary power and circles back to classic socdem bullshit. I understand how people get to these conclusions, especially if ur basing politics off what people opine online, but w study it’s rectified. Idk sorry this is kinda only tangentially related but something I’ve been thinking abt a lot trying to talk to “radicals” and finding out that most people rlly don’t understand some of the like primary goals of an ideology they’ve adopted.
it does suck that the government defunded PBS but it's also so fucking funny that now that they don't take uncle sam's slavery dollars they're running videos like "How america's foundation was built on genocide"
no more being polite about it fuck the USA
btw the US federal rule that will funding-denial-style effectively ban most trans healthcare and mandate funding recipients to discriminate against trans ppl will go into effect by October 1st, 2026
if this gets tied to medicare reimbursement, it will effectively mark the end of trans healthcare in the united states (hospitals and hospital groups will always pick medicare funding over any annoying or inconvenient policy/law). i can’t tell by the article whether or not it will be related to CMS/medicare reimbursement, though.
it is ALL federal funding. that includes medicare and medicaid. also like tbc it is not really bc hospitals and clinics are just cowardly or something (which is generally true); many of them existentially depend on federal funding and effectively have no choice but to implement these kinds of policies. this is why transphobic politicians have been laser focused on these kinds of policies, since they are both easier to pass and implement than legal bans and allow for extreme and collective extrajudicial punishment for violation

"no one is owed anything, except for me who is owed your money"
this might be a bit of a shock for american authors but your right to your intellectual property does not take precedence over our right to read whatever the fuck we want and your shit wouldn't be half as popular as it is if it weren't for piracy
Twitter arguing whether its gonna be rigged in either France or moroccos favor bc ppl r unserious

the worms seem to have contracted a disease that makes their head shrink down and disappear before dissolving the rest of the worm into a cloud of dissociated cells and wish I was making this up
the front fell off
this is actually literally how every day felt in high school

I love shitting on people's writings. What are you going to do about it?
Queer people do not need to get into norse gods, queer people need dialectical materialism.
uhhhh hey everybody I think we need to really be careful about how we push back on the way "social murder" is being misapplied by people covering for abusers because, like, that's a real thing that happens to people. I'm already seeing this extremely callous and flippant attitude foment around the idea of social murder, as though it's just some turbo-online hysteria, rather than something that happens to marginalized people fucking constantly.
really weird vibes today… i haven’t had a day off in 3 weeks… power’s out and we’re on a well so my hair is greasy as fuck. had to work overtime so i got home at 1:30am. i cant stop watching instagram reels that make me cry. my car’s engine is smoking, not sure what’s wrong with it. neighbors are continuously blowing shit up next door. for whatever reason i have been listening exclusively to stevie wonder. and on top of all that it’s 90% humidity
what’s the mood for july?
