Anxiety.
this is exactly what social anxiety is like, and it’s not fun at all.
a look inside my college textbook (x)
tera-you-again
this is the content I signed up for
Fun fact time: many of my old acquaintances still make joking comments whenever they see me wearing pink, because as a child (and honestly pretty much right up to high school) I would refuse to associate with any pink objects.
It wasn’t because I didn’t like pink, it was because since I appeared female I was supposed to/ it was immediately assumed that I did and therefore it pissed me the ever-loving fuck off. I was ashamed to like it, which is terrible because pink is an awesome color. But when you shove it down young girls throats it gets really old, really fast.
Give the child the fucking rainbow, and if they pick pink, it’s not because they are female and/or effeminate, it’s because they like the color pink.
Gosh this
Them: Why do you even care who runs the country?

y’all ever take a pic and be like this ain’t even my skin color
yeah but, cartoon women, any drawn women, aren’t wearing those skimpy and sexual clothes out of choice, they’re wearing it because someone drew them that way, normally for a reason. so so don’t go “oh maybe she chooses to fight crime in a bikini and high heels” bc a man sat at a desk and decided she was gunna wear those clothes, for a reason, for the audience or his gaze. so no, its not slut shaming, its creepy man shaming
reminder that actors in any live-action movie or tv show also have costume designers and directors and lots of people who mandate what they wear. they don’t have any choice either.
true, almost al women in the media are dressed and designed for male gaze
oh my god
*wakes* How did I get like this? Oh, no, wait, this is perfect.

I just remembered how hilarious it was to watch this shit on national television.
You know what else is great about Inside Out? Is that it’s provided a platform to speak to kids about mental illness and emotional problems, like…
Depression: It’s when there’s something funny going on with Sadness, and every time she touches something it turns blue. But not just memories - the train of thought, the console, even the cogs in headquarters all turn blue, and everything is sad, even stuff that used to be happy. And then everything stops working and it all turns grey - all the personality islands start shutting down and falling apart and the train of thought becomes really slow and all the machines stop working properly. And the medication you get for depression doesn’t make you happy, because it’s not Joy, but it does help everything to start working again, and helps to keep the mind and headquarters going so that that person can work on getting better.
Anxiety Disorder: It’s when Fear is at the console all the time. You know how he’s always making a list of all the things that could go wrong and he’s got hundreds? It’s like that, all the time. He’s always thinking of stuff that could go wrong and being really jittery at the console and sometimes he’ll even shut everything down because he gets so worked up over it, and everything stops working and he just keeps hitting the panic button over and over again.
Bipolar: It’s like Joy and Sadness are constantly fighting over the console. Sometimes Sadness is in charge, and it’s like depression - everything starts shutting down and stops working and Sadness makes everything Blue. Then when Joy takes over, she gets really excited and tries to make up for what Sadness has done, so she works overtime, and makes everything work twice as fast, and does silly things she shouldn’t.
ADHD: It’s when there’s a problem with all the machines and the computers in headquarters, so everything works twice as fast as it should, or sometimes they just don’t work at all. And instead of coming in once a day, the there are lots of different tracks and different Trains of Thought that are always coming in every few minutes. And instead of doing their job properly, all the Mind Workers keep sending random memories and thoughts up to Headquarters to be replayed over and over again so it makes it really hard to concentrate on what’s going on.
Like… honestly that film did such a good job of portraying emotional and psychological complexities in a funny and entertaining way that was accessible to children and it’s paved the way for lots of interesting and important discussions that need to be had with kids about emotions and psychological issues.
