They indeed are a thing! Have been for a minute. A lot of people refer to them as ‘frohawks’ actually! It’s a style that manages to be both niche and common at the same time, especially in black punk, alt, and hip hop spaces! Here’s a few pics I grabbed from Pinterest of what they look like! And to spice up the style some people would also add braids/patterns on the side of their head too!
