Day 10: Werebat

Day 10 of Werecreature August... Werebat!Alex.

I have the references for stalex but not the rest yet

Steve's Scottish and Alex is Swedish, based on the Scot and Swede skins.

Ari is Irish, Efe is Turkish, Makena is Kenyan, Sunny is Indonesian, Noor is Ethiopian, Zuri is Tanzanian, and Kai is Chinese-American.

Some headcannons:

- Makena and Zuri can and will argue in Swahili

- Efe is a math nerd

- Sunny built his own prosthetic

- Kai bleached his hair on a dare

- Noor, Efe and Kai are besties

- Zuri, Ari and Alex are the main builders of the group, with Alex being the second most experienced (Steve prioritises functionality over aesthetic, so he only technically counts — by Ari's words)

- Noor and Makena are usually scouts when they go adventuring

- Efe, Steve, Noor and Alex are the main fighters, and protect the others and themselves whenever they go adventuring

- Sunny and Ari are redstone nerds

- Their ages are as follows:

[K so I used math to calculate how long Steve and Alex have been in minecraft (25 minutes is a minecraft day), Steve has been in minecraft for 41 minecraft years as of today and Alex has been in minecraft for 29! Since they lowkey are already adults and haven't seemed to age, I'm just gonna make them immortal entities who's memories only go as far back 41 years and 29 years respectively for lore purposes]

Personalities:

- Steve the most experienced out of them and tends to be very cautious when exploring new biomes or entering caves. He has done some... Morally questionable things to villagers when he was younger, so they usually are afraid of him which makes it hard for him to do business. (Said morally questionable things are leading Illagers to Villages so he can get a discount, and holding them hostage until he gets the things he wants — he lets them go afterwards). Safe to say he's grown from that. Death awaiting at every turn will do that to you. It's not like he can die die, but it hurts. He was lonely for a very long time, and eventually made peace with some of the villagers. He stumbled across a human, Alex. She was hiding from the zombies that night. Like his first night. They've been inseparable ever since.

- Alex is cheerful but also a realist and sometimes downright cynical. She's methodical and pragmatic yes, but curiosity tends to get the better of her. In their early days, she got Steve and herself into multiple dire situations. She's the first of the pair to weird a trident, and the "only one crazy enough to enchant loyalty with blood" (Steve's words). The villagers like her, until she haggles them to prices so low they wonder if they were in a bad state of mind. Her fighting style is heavily offensive, using her trident and armour to push through hoards. Steve is strategic with using his shield and trusty sword and axe.

- Noor is the oldest, aside from Steve and Alex. He's calm and level headed, and is usually the peacekeeper in the absence (and sometimes presence) of Stalex. He has an eye for detail, and for movement. He never misses a target, whether using a spear or bow. He detests violence, but will still absolutely body his friends during spars. He likes to paint and loves snowy biomes. Steve, Alex, and Efe found him trapped in a ravine, and adopted them into their group. Efe still never let's him live it down.

- Makena is the most knowledgeable among the group when it comes to farming, aside from Steve and Alex, and flowers. She usually decorates the land outside their bases, and is a great at terraforming. She's very witty and is the first to call out Efe and Kai's bs. She favours her axe in combat, but can use her fists just as well. She loves to go sightseeing and moon bathing (Noor drags her back inside when it's too late). She was the second last to join the group. Her attention to detail and sensitivity to sound made her perfect for being a scout.

- Kai is not the brightest tool in the shed, but he is the most agile among them. He's not very good at fighting, but he can weave punches long enough for his friends to find him. He has an eidetic memory, so he guides them if they lose their map. He's the jokester of the group and an S-tier ragebaiter. When they need to clear an area to build a base, he's tasked with luring the mobs away. Whether it be to a quick demise or a mob grinder. Stalex, Efe, and Noor rescued him from a witch. He quickly became friends with Efe and Noor, because they could appreciate his jokes.

- Efe is book-smart but cannot, for the life of her, understand social cues. She was able to get top of her class in her entire town, make potions that helped hospitals immensely, but nobody really got her. After a forest fire spread to her town, she ran towards the wilderness. The world was large, Efe knew that. But she never knew how large. There were places and things she'd never seen. One such thing, was a living skeleton. Steve shielded her while Alex took care of the skeletons. They took her in and taught her how to survive. They were her first friends. They said they wouldn't pick up any more strays. But they did.

- Sunny was stumbling through a cave system he got lost through, trying to collect iron and redstone for his prosthetic. He'd been looked down upon most of his life due to being handicapped, which resulted in his hyperindependence. He bumped into Kai, who was looking for some diamonds to make a new sword because he broke Steve's. Since redstone and diamond are found near each other, they came to an agreement. Kai didn't pity or dismiss Sunny and was genuinely trying to help. He even tried to understand Sunny's "redstone-ese". After learning that Sunny didn't really have anybody at home, he dragged him to their group.

- Zuri was interning at his parents' construction company, hoping to be able to make something meaningful, but he was stuck to his desk. It drained the life out of him, to the point where he didn't even know who he was anymore. One day, he thought, "Screw capitalism!" He naively thought he could survive in the woods while he was sheltered most of his life. Noor saved him from a pack of hungry wolves. He joined their pack. Even though he was attacked, he like dark oak forests the best. He has an air of self righteousness which is merely a front due to his insecurities. (Everyone sees though it. Kai calls him out on it).

- Ari was the last to join the group and is the youngest. She's similar to Alex in her first few waking years, curious and bright eyed. Time has not hardened her yet. She's the kindest out of them all, but has a short fuse and even shorter patience. She was found in a snow biome, thrown out and nearly dead. And, as they do, they took her in. She loves plains and sunflower fields.
