Flamingos can survive in low oxygen, high altitude, high temperatures, low temperatures, high alkaline, they can and will drink boiling water and they can be completely frozen at night and still get up the next morning

(animal death) this is a real undoctored photograph (*though the body was stood up for the shot) of a dead flamingo on the surface of lake natron, a lake so salty and so alkaline that it’s naturally carbonated like soda and would eat through your stomach lining if you drank from it.

When this photo went viral years ago, most people assumed this poor flamingo must have been killed by the lake.

It is actually the lake where 75% of its global population are hatched. This is a photo from the same lake:

Flamingos can survive in high altitudes, hypersaline conditions, and caustic lakes.

They can drink water at near-boiling temperatures.

The lakes they inhabit can freeze overnight, and the flamingos can survive once it thaws in the morning.

It is also true that 75% of Lesser Flamingos are hatches on Lake Natron.

Some species of Flamingo eat cyanobacteria or algae.

they perform as well as expensive HEPA air cleaners, and are comparatively VERY inexpensive. all you need is a box fan, 4 air filters, a piece of cardboard, and some duct tape!!!!

Number two! I do wish that I'd had an undergown ready to take these photos, both for reasons of accuracy and because it would have let me hide some more padding under it. I do think Augusta Auction overpadded in the bust and sleeves, but this girl has no hips or ass and I'm pretty sure the original wearer would have.

The waistline drawstring is very interesting. There are two pretty big channels on either side, each with two cords in them. All four cords run across the entire back, with one from each channel tied at one side and sewn down to the other, all on the inside. With me so far? Where they're tied together, one extends out. The wearer would have been able to tighten them by pulling them out to the sides and then tie them off in front under her skirt. A new development for making it easier to dress yourself in Regency costume!

I don't have a closeup of that because I didn't actually draw the strings much in order to not put stress on the fragile mull. Instead I kind of pleated the back in to approximate where it would be if drawn.

And that this is actually a really fun, low cost way to not only access news and larger cultural magazines, but also to get free patterns for many different crafts that you can screenshot if need be and that lower the financial barriers to entry for trying new things

From my experience working in both academic and public libraries, many libraries are use it or lose it funding-- I have to say this because a lot of patrons feel guilty for how much they use the library and how often they're using it funny enough, but the worst thing you can do for libraries is not try out new features and not use what's already given to you as much as possible.
