thinking about pacing & plotting & the role of information or knowledge in a story, esp when it comes to mysteries/thrillers. sometimes you need the audience to know something that the characters don’t (dramatic irony) and sometimes you need the audience to be ignorant alongside them. and sometimes it’s in between, half-truths and imperfect or flawed information. but the process of knowledge-building is never linear nor airtight - it goes in circles, cancels out, gets revised, erased. sometimes you’re left knowing less than when you began, sometimes more, sometimes it’s net zero. whatever serves the story!
