Doing some prep work ahead of my second year of my masters degree and I’m doing my own writing summer camp! I made this workbook last year and it’s one of my favourites from my etsy. And as I need to get some writing done I thought no better way than get writing than using my own resources 😂

july'26 // every other month, the urge to disappear becomes stronger

much has happened last month, from conferences to demotivation to widespread protests and devastating floods back home. it's the first time i have (and am still) experience ecological grief from up close. i continue to struggle to write as i try to give shape to my thesis. follow-up interviews are ongoing. sometimes i feel extremely motivated and excited, and at other times, utterly demotivated. teaching has had its ups and downs as well.

it has a been a whole lot of emotional whiplash last month (when is it not). self-discipline is my primary issue, so it's time to romanticise my life once again and motivate myself by looking at your posts.

(i also finished reading the Neapolitan novels by Elena Ferrante and what a journey that was!)

Notes on my independent project. There’s an assessment within it where we have to talk about our influences - all the books, journals, tv shows, movies etc that have inspired us to write so I thought I would do some research ahead of it - it’s totally not just an excuse for me to fangirl about my favourite things 💙🙈

i feel like i should be able to announce this with more fanfare (or at least prettier pictures) but i was accepted to my dream grad program today! it still feels unreal – i didn't think my interview went particularly well, but i must have done alright.

i won't name the specific program, but it's one of the top 10 grad schools in my field and (assuming all goes well during my on-campus visit) i'll be moving to california in the fall.

Sorry for disappearing! I got a bit overwhelmed by the amount of work and started binge reading the bsd novels instead of studying… or reading the classics on my shelf.. Right now I’m doing some chemistry in a cafe to get right back into the spirit
