finally reading this journal article that's been sitting on my desk for like a month. today i'm working on figuring out what my theoretical basis is for my dissertation and i feel like i'm making this too philosophical for a poli sci department lol

It is surreal to think that I’ll be defending my doctoral dissertation this month. Right now I’m resting for several days until I get my corrections back from my advisor. I definitely needed this break. I can like actually catch up on hobbies and breathe and sleep without having dreams and nightmares about my word documents. I literally was having a dreams of the freaking chapter where I’m editing lines!! That’s how bad it was.

Pretty nice sunday, although dreading work tomorrow. They have to tell me if they wanna continue with me this next month so I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing.

Spent a good amount of time setting up Anki once again, will see if it sticks this time. Added up a good chunk of vocabulary with the cloze type of note and audio, but will tweak it on the go to fit my needs. After that did some revising too.

-> 10 mins of flashcards (not counting the setting up and making them)

-> 40 mins reading & vocab

Notes from My Desk #1 | 15/6/26

Hi and welcome to my studyblr! I'm Star, and I'm here to record various things in my life, not just the min-maxed academic progress etc.

I'm currently studying 7 courses in 5 subjects (chemistry, social studies, literature, mathematics and English) and I'll include a colour-coded Studies-section to describe my progress in my daily posts. I have 14 courses in total to complete before graduation, so I'm really looking forward to that!

I'm big into journaling, dancing, working out, reading, gaming, music, and languages, and I'm sure I could keep the list going. If you hang around you'll likely learn more.

These past few days I've been working on quite an extensive "bujo" / life tracking system makinf use of old graph notebooks, and I'm glad to say I'm almost on the finishing line with this big idea. It's been a fun way to start the summer, as well.

Highlights: ⭐️Almost finished with my trackers ⭐️Picked up Night-Gaunts after procrastinating reading and I'm hooked! ⭐️Went on a walk and did some ballet

06.19.2026 — Yesterday during Korean class, which was very fun and interesting as usual. I always mean to post this the night of, but I am seriously so tired after these 7 PM-9 PM classes that I often forget.

One last final left and oh my god I hate computational chemistry so much 😭 No offence to anyone but this stuff is just so mind numbingly boring I can barely focus on studying it. Experimental chemistry ftw ❤️‍🩹
