My best advice: write through the chapters of your life. Write down your hopes for the future, and when the future comes, keep on writing. Collect little business cards from your favourite cafes, take silly pictures of your sink, scribble love letters to your future self and keep all the little notes that people leave you. One day, all of this will be in your past, and you won’t remember any of it. But that same day, you might pick up the silly little business card or the silly little note, and you’ll be happy you kept it all. :)

Second year in med school (or what the hardest year so far thaught me 💭 )
Second year in where I study is known as a place nobody really wants to return to…and now I get it. We studied mainly 3 subjects which were Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry…the “holy trinity”. Don’t let winter exams fool you- they feel like sunshine and rainbows, but nothing compares to the storm that the summer exams bring! ⛈️🌪️
Subject rate
Anatomy 2/10 ⭐️⭐️
“I wanna give you the zero, but that’s not possible, so I give you a two!”
I knew I’ll have trouble with this subject the first day I opened my textbooks. These 2 years felt like hell studying it especially CNS…Muscles spiked my interest in Traumatology and Sports medicine tho, and that is the only reason I give it 2 stars!
Physiology 6/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“The good doctor is first a good physiologist”
- Daniel Danielopolu
I loved Physiology from day 1! Reading it was like a break from all of the torture that anatomy gave me… not only that but the professor who’s lectures I attended was the sweetest guy ever and his passion for this subject came to me as well! The reason I give it less stars is because of the exam and how poorly the grading system is made.
Biochemistry 5/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yep. Even I’m surprised as how high of a grade that is! I had a love/hate relationship with this subject. I was both fascinated as how the cells work on this molecular level and frustrated at how hard it is to grasp the content sometimes! The exam was horrible and more than half my grade failed…
Lessons (outside of medicine) that I learned
1. It’s not hard, it’s just new.
I said that in one of my first posts this school year but I will say it again and again! Just because you don’t get a concept the first time doesn’t mean it won’t ever stick!
2. Effort doesn’t equal results.
Sad but true and pretty self explanatory.
3. Professors are just humans who are not very kind sometimes and you just have to accept it.
I happened to meet some awfully rude professors and doctors this year. Just showed me how I do not want to act towards anyone ever.
4. Everyone has their own journey at their own pace…
…which doesn’t disqualify them from being capable and knowledgeable.
5. Never EVER compare yourself to others
People in med school are competitive which is nice and motivating until it isn’t. Try to say out of this toxic place and don’t compare your situation to someone else’s.
In conclusion
Second year showed me that I am in fact capable of doing hard things. All glory to God despite of my effort! 🩷

Lit candle in broad daylight because somehow Europe doesn't understand the concept of please-get-dark-after-5-pm. My last class ended and this might have been the final lecture I ever attended in my life. Wow. I am still unfortunately procrastinating on my work but at least this semester is over.
The last weeks of each school year are always crazy. Too much to do and the calendar filled with events. I ended up getting a bit sick, not much but enough to make me spend my weekend on the sofa and letting the to dos pile up... Well, it's Sunday and I'm feeling almost ok again, just low energy. Two more weeks and I'll have six weeks off... I'm looking forward to that!

( •̀ᴗ•́ )و Back to studying after my little Alto Adige trip!
Today I reviewed everything I studied before leaving to see if I actually remembered it… and thankfully, most of it was still there. Maybe all those hours weren’t for nothing after all. ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧
Studying in this heat is so difficult, though. My brain feels like it’s melting every few minutes… (╥﹏╥)
After reviewing, I finally started a new topic: Piaget’s stages of cognitive development. I’m really excited to get back into my psychology routine.
One page at a time. One concept at a time. We’ll get there. ♡
I am not sure yet I will get in a second writing session today, as I will be dogsitting in the afternoon. But this morning I got a couple tasks done. I did finish writing a big list with a bunch of information and quotes I want to somehow include in the last part of the chapter I am writing. I then decided to take the rest of my morning thesis time to reread what I have written so far. I had to edit some notes, and I also fixed the general form a bit. What I am left to do now is to create a good structure for this last part of the chapter, and then to write it of course. Ideally I will take one hour of writing time this afternoon to start at least with the structure, but we'll see how things go. The general goal is to finish this chapter next week and to email it to my supervisor. I will try to accomplish that before the middle of next week, so that I will also be able to actively work on the next chapter. Overall I have to say that this week was much better than the last, I feel like I am actually doing something with myself, and things are going much more smoothly than the past week.
Been pretty quiet on here these past few days. Not doing a lot; struggling to get the bare minimum done. Still being consumed by The Pitt- I am Robby & he is me. I’ll finish the show once I’m done with studying for today. For now I’m glad that I managed to get at least something done…
to do: study for culstud exam (4ish days left), 1x essay outline, exercises on citation, tasks for didactics class, essay for litstud
