from an outside perspective this might seem like a nothingburger, but genuinely one of the scariest moments of my life was when I was in the peak undiagnosed autoimmune disease, but still trying to keep up my normal schedule. so I was walking back from an evening class at the University of Toronto, feeling my heart going BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM, and I realized I was so out of it that I'd overshot my house. like walked right past it. and so I turned around and walked back. and some time later I realized, I overshot it again. like I was walking back and forth in front of my house unable to find it. and eventually I did manage to get inside my house and fall down on the sofa, but it was a real moment of "oh, things have gotten really bad."
