All of that mistreatment stems from misogyny, stems from your female biology, and stems from your socialization. I’m sure it’s tough to hear, because you want to distance yourself from your biology, but biology shapes how we treat people under patriarchy. It’s not a coincidence that *female* health issues like PCOS and endometriosis are under researched and under funded, meanwhile we have 40 different types of viagra because sometimes swallowing a pill is hard for male individuals (cue worlds smallest violin). It’s not a coincidence that abortion access, which only affects female humans, is being threatened across the globe. It’s not a coincidence that child marriage and human trafficking crimes disproportionately affect female adults and children. I could go on.

This is all to say that the oppression we face under patriarchy is directly tied to our sex. And that manifests itself in so many other ways besides the ones I outlined above, including, yes, socialization. Socialization is like your cultural training. So of course a society that thinks female children should behave a certain way, and that male children should behave a certain way, are going to train their children to behave in those ways. You are not immune to it. You were raised female. Trans “women” were raised male. That socialization, that cultural training, doesn’t just go away when you come out as trans. Trans “women” still have the training and experience in behaving like men, and that’s part of the reason why they mistreat you. You and other trans “men” still have the training and experience in behaving like women. All of those social dynamics, and the fact that you can’t change your biology, are contributing to the mistreatment you’re experiencing despite your “transition.”

Now. I'm not saying that being female means that you have to live a certain way. You Do Not.

This is the major advantage of biological reality.

We had realised by the second half of the 20thC that 'traditional gender roles' are no more than one choice amongst many.

If you're you're female but not feminine, then you can do it your way. Masculine or Androgynous. It doesn't change what you are.

And there's no question but that we hear way more about 'the rights' of feminine presenting males than we do about the rights of masculine presenting females.

As the title suggests, this article presents just straight up facts about Jackson, and I think the facts alone are damning

His stans look at this like “welllll an adult man repeatedly slept in the same bed as random children and probably showed them porn for totally innocent reasons. One of the boys was also able to accurately draw the man’s penis for totally innocent reasons, too.” Do you hear yourselves? Would you ever make a fool out of yourself defending a guy who was accused of the same things if you didn’t like his songs?

Then his stans are like “ohhh, multiple people came forward with child sex abuse allegations that detail a similar pattern of behavior? Well that’s cuz the later accusers just studied off the previous ones—“ when in the fuck does that ever actually happen? Just come on. People need to be honest that they simply don't want to believe this is true

I think what's depressing is that this documentary didn't actually have the effect the Jackson estate feared it would. Like so many other abuse stories, enough people shrugged and moved on. It definitely gives you whiplash, though, to go on some people's social media pages, see them post things about how horrible Epstein was, and then turn around and earnestly say all of these child sex abuse accusations against their favorite wealthy, influential pop star were false. Oh, and did you know there have been new accusations made against Michael Jackson just this year?

Why did they do this? Well the other day, a 13 year old kid posted a picture of her dolls wearing the clothes from the Harry Potter collection. I’m sure you can predict the response she got, but just in case I’ll say it anyway- these GROWN ADULTS harassed this poor girl into deleting her account and the post. Accused her of being a transphobe and giving money to people who want trans people dead. And they doubled down when people pointed out the fact that they were attacking a child, saying “if she’s old enough to use reddit she’s old enough to deal with the consequences.”

These people also harassed the mods of the sub into banning the topic, so IMO it’s not fully the mods’ fault. That sub is full of women with internalized misogyny and TIMs who like to talk about how playing with dolls made them realize they were trans.

They said they were still excluded socially, from social female spaces. I asked them to elaborate, and I was told that it was very common for "terf lesbians" to refuse to have sex with trans women. That it was a barrier to inclusion, and that lesbians have "more power than anyone" because we "deny their identity" by refusing to have sex with them.
