i feel bad for people who don’t read fan fiction. imagine only having canon

There is a large difference between 'I should help' and 'society should help' and if you want to build something that protects and cares for everyone you have to deal with the fact that that means the asshole down the road. Ideally even be happy about it.

woke up this morning, rolled over, and very confidently tried to blow out my alarm clock like a candle. absolutely no precedent for that.

one time i was making potato soup and i needed broth for it but i was out of broth. but in my dog food cabinet there was a carton of chicken broth that i had bought for my dog. now the box did say HUMAN GRADE and the ingredients were just bog standard chicken broth. it did say something about joint health for dogs on there. but the ingredients were normal. i even compared the ingredients list to some normal person broth and they were the same. so i did put dog broth in that soup and it did taste completely normal. but i did use the dog broth.

I feel like a lot of people mistake vanilla sex for unsatisfying sex. They’re not the same thing. You can have the most vanilla sex of your life and be completely wrecked by it — fully present, fully seen, fully satisfied. And you can have the most intense, experimental experience and walk away feeling absolutely nothing. The kink was never the point. The connection was. The hunger was. Two people who actually want each other will make missionary feel like a religious experience. Two people who are disconnected will make every fantasy feel hollow. It was never about what you did. It was always about who showed up for it.
