my Legend of Aang thoughts as someone who avoided watching leaks purely for the sake of the animators:
- Concept and artistic visuals were very strong, they gave the artists lots of creative freedom with this movie and i loved it
- Comedy was good i did laugh
- The callbacks to the og show were tastefully applied, they knew their audience and didn’t overdo it
- stakes were high and suitable for a movie of this scale
- did i mention the animation was insanely smooth throughout this entire thing like I am genuinely so impressed. I’m still LIVID i didn’t get to experience this in theaters.
- Fight scenes on point I loved them
- everyone was hot. amen.
- I feel like the entire main cast has the same face?? and after making the effort to get culturally accurate voice actors, I would’ve liked to see more ethnic diversity in their facial features and even in accents.
- Sometimes the script felt very repetitive,, like “you’re the avatar, the beacon of peace..” it felt like they just said the same thing over and over
- I missed suki she should’ve been with them lowk :(
- sometimes the power scaling felt off, tagha felt a bit too op
- the monsters and designs felt very pokemonish?? esp the Gorrillavark. like this i was more neutral on but felt out of place
- as a huge kataang shipper they were doin too much😭 like when all his closest friends “died”why did he only care about katara
ok that’s about it ik im arriving very late to this conversation but i wanted to share my thoughts directly after watching :]
