"The plot":

jenny and lilah have the same sense of humour so they bond over that

jenny and lilah are both bi with a preference for women, but both end up primarily dating/ sleeping with men because it's the 80s/90s

lilah is a little older than jenny

lilah is the first woman jenny has been with, but lilah has been with women before

they are both ambitious women born into families that don't understand or support that ambition

they have a toxic messy situationship in college that never gets addressed properly and an even messier breakup afterwards

lilah tries to internet-stalk jenny years after their breakup but fails (bc she doesn't know that jenny changed her last name)

jenny internet-stalks lilah and keeps tabs on her career at w&h

Finch: trans man (ive got lots of thoughts on this so i’ll probably make a separate post instead of putting them all here) and gay, but really repressed (related to him being trans)

Elliott: probably nonbinary but he’s got a job so he doesn’t really care about that. he’s bi (preference for women), and definitely aware of it, but doesn’t often act on his attraction to men, and if he does he doesn’t say anything.

Maya: lesbian !!!! please god let her kiss girls !!!! she’s aware that she’s a lesbian, but takes a long time to come out (mainly because she’s worried about her fathers reaction)

Jack: cishet ally. keeps accidentally saying offensive things, but he’s trying.
