Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.
If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.

wasnt jkr the guy who got assassinated by the president? why is he bad?
i. ive been thinking about how to reply to this for like ten minutes. i canāt even add anything. itās already perfect .
was at a bar and a 50+ year old drunk white woman complimented me and my friend's outfits, told us there was a campsite up in northern maryland where a lot of gay bears go to have sex in the woods. we asked her how she knew about this and she very aggressively said "because i'm a FAG HAG!!! but i'm not allowed to say that anymore I GUESS!!!"

relentlessly funny to me when people treat a relationship between someone in their 30s and someone in their 40s as "age difference". bro i cannot tell you which of my friends are 34 and which are 44. i can probably tell you which ones aren't 30 yet, but it's probable some of them are 50 now and i didn't notice. if you're over 30 and don't have kids, it's kinda all one age until you can collect social security.

Do you need affordable sewing supplies? Do you want to help cut down on waste and fast fashion?
Do yourself a favor and check out Swanson's Fabrics! The physical location is in Turners Falls, Massachusetts, USA, but the online shop will ship to you!
I can't remember who first told me about Swanson's, but they're a textile thrift shop that collects and repurposes donations of unused sewing supplies. Their physical location, The Stash House, offers community sewing resources and a studio. For non-locals (such as myself), their online shop offers fabrics, patterns, and notions. The shop restocks on Thursdays, and they have a constantly-rotating collection of items. If you like thrifting secondhand craft materials, Swanson's is for you!
Via their official "about" page:
Swansonās Fabrics and notions are gifts from retired sewing stashes. They are the fabrics and supplies that sewers and fiber-artists naturally accumulate. I had a suspicion that the reason we all collect so much is that we didnāt have a place āgood enoughā to take it. So I made the place. Turns out I was right, and thanks to my community (and yours) of makers and crafters, I can resell these fine materials at a low, approachable cost. ALL FABRICS ARE $5.00/yd, NO MATTER WHAT THEY ARE MADE OF. REALLY. I MEAN IT. I KNOW. UNBELIEVABLE BUT TRUE! As we come to grips with the climate crisis, interrupted supply lines, and our dependency on slave-labor in far away countries to produce our cotton and fiber goods, we need another way to approach the fabrics in our lives. We have a massive resource of textile goods in our country and it is time to tap into it. Our attics, basements, thrift-store donation bins, and dumpsters are brimming with discarded fabrics. It is time to start making and trading for the things we need, and stop buying so much new stuff we donāt. We need to see ourselves as trash-rich. Customers at Swansonās can pay for goods and services with goods and services. I accept trade of sewing and fiber supplies/materials, and trade for help in the shop. I hope to inspire you to make your own clothes, to mend the ones you have, to shop second-hand and alter things to your taste. There is a lot of power in dressing yourself. Custom is king, and you canāt have a revolution in your masterās clothesā¦. ā¤ļøšŖš» -Kathryn
The CovidSafeCosplay blog and its admin are unaffiliated with Swanson's Fabrics, and are simply sharing the resource.
Do you have a favorite place to get your crafting supplies? Share in the comments or via a reblog! Bonus points for those that prioritize sustainability, accessibility, community, and trade.
Lots of cities / areas have stores who also sell repurposed or donated fabrics! Hereās one directory of creative reuse stores. (Though ācreative reuseā is usually the key search term)
I get most of mine at Scrap in Ann Arbor (they also sell some items online) and New City Sewing Center in St. Louis.

hey nonbinary people here are some books I wrote with nonbinary people in them
My first romcom, Chef's Kiss, is about a pastry chef at a food magazine falling for her kitchen manager, Ray, who comes out at work as nonbinary. It's a slow burn for foodies.
The sequel, Chef's Choice, is about Luna and JP fake dating while trying to win an inheritance-based cooking challenge. It's T4T and features a few nonbinary side characters, Ray included.
And then there's Triple Sec, a polyamorous romcom about a bartender getting picked up by a queer couple. One of the couple, Kade, is nonbinary.
Anyhoo happy day

can I get a job as an editor but the only thing I do is correct when someone uses the word "prone" when they mean "supine"
thank you wikipedia for this really good image
a helpful mnemonic for everyone
too good for tags
This mnemonic has a permanent place in my life.
Every time in yoga class when my instructor would say "now get into a prone position" I would think "ah yes on your pronis"
I have been telling yāall about H.R. 7661 for a while now, and today I need to ask you for a favor. If youāre new to the newsletter or have
A special one-off newsletter this week about the nationwide book banning bill. I don't know what to do except keep screaming. Anyway, if you promise me you'll contact your rep I'll send you a character art card. Details at the link
UPDATE, May 16, 2026, from Authors Against Book Bans:
HR 7661 is not dead. But thanks to your ongoing efforts, it is definitely losing steam. Your advocacy matters! The clear evidence is that the billās sponsors are shifting from promoting HR 7661 to instead promoting a new bill, HR 2617. HR 2617, the so-called āSay No to Indoctrination Act,ā was introduced earlier this month by Representative Burgess Owens of Utahāone of the co-sponsors of HR 7661. This bill would forbid educators from teaching āconcepts related to gender ideology,ā with the aims of ādefending women from gender ideology extremism and restoring biological truth to the Federal Government.ā As we have seen time and again, any whiff of gender essentialism in education inevitably leads to book bans. What weāre asking you to do now: Call your House Representative and tell them you oppose both HR 7661 and HR 2617. If your Representative is a Democrat on the House Education & Workforce Committee, specifically ask that they show up at the June 10th hearing ready to defend our studentsā and educatorsā access to books with a full spectrum of gender identities. And yes, itās not a coincidence that this vote is scheduled to take place during National Pride Month. Conservatives apparently enjoy using that month in particular to speak out against LGBTQ+ people and issues.
Book censorship and transphobia work hand-in-hand, just like book censorship and racism.
UPDATE, July 13, from Authors Against Book Bans:
HR 7661 was āreported amendedā by the Committee on Education and Workforce and placed on the Union Calendar on Thursday, July 2ndāright before a ten day break. Being placed on the āUnion Calendarā means a bill has been favorably recommended out of a House committee and is now catalogued, making it officially eligible for full floor consideration.
Just because a measure is listed on a congressional calendar does not guarantee that it will be considered on the House floor on a certain dateāor at all. But the timing of this moveāright before the 4th of July holiday, with a short two working weeks before the August recess to potentially hear it and vote on itāis highly suspicious. It may be an indication that HR 7661ās advocates are hoping to slip it in under the radar.
We canāt let that happen.
1) Call your representative and tell them to vote NO on HR 7661
2) Talk to your rep in person if theyāre home and keeping office hours
3) Share our Vote No on HR 7661 social media images
4) Print, post, and share our one-sheet that explains HR 7661
5) Share our HR 7661 Sponsor Candidate Scorecards on social media
6) Feeling testy? Share our 3 Shitty Book Ban Bills graphic
i have gotten increasingly suspicious of art posts that just have an artistās name and no other identifying info. i routinely image search those and used to be if it seemed to fit with the artistās style and subject matter iād say good enough and assume the image was from a fleeting website or a scan. i donāt feel like i can do that anymore. if i canāt find the exact image on a reputable site i donāt like it donāt reblog it. it doesnāt help that google has kneecapped their own reverse image search, which for all the issues with regular search was still the best image search engine. now it spits AI summaries at me and the exact matches tab shows me nothing. even if there ARE exact matches. i can SEE them.
anyway. sorry. if you like to post art by fine artists on tumblr please please include the source. in the body in the tags whatever. think of your friend door, slowly going mad trying to determine if a painting is real.
living in one of those free use public sex kinda hentai but no one wants to have sex with me so i mostly just stay home and post. i look outside and sigh wistfully at the sight of a woman getting eaten out so hard she somehow cums twice in one moment and then close my blinds so i can focus on cookie clicker
Charles guiteau
The man who assassinated James Garfield??????
I will always love how you can learn things that your history class failed to teach you from shitposts on this site. Never change.
You donāt get knowledge delivered like this on other webbed sites and apps.
I know it's a hot topic but would you ever think about using AI to finish a fic you're finding hard to write?
Honestly? I'd rather put out an open campfire with my clit than use AI for anything creative.
an honour

imo the way you feel about groups it's fully socially acceptable to hate (like children or polyamorous people, among others) is the canary in the coal mine for underlying bigoted beliefs. if you're only supportive of marginalized groups when it's cool to do so, probably you don't actually care about marginalized groups, you care about other people thinking you care
there are 1 trillion people in the notes of this post saying "yeah! i mean i hate kids but they should have rights!" you hate kids? you mean you hate all members of an oppressed group solely for their membership in this group? right. why do you hate them? because they can't take care of themselves and need help? because they don't understand social norms and can be "annoying" and disrespect boundaries as a result? because they can be messy? because they don't understand things in the same way as you do? that's awesome. how do you feel about disabled people btw
As someone who is both trans and has a child, absolutely hilarious to me that society presents one of these as absolutely only to be done if you are 110% certain and have proved to several people that you want it bad enough and are ready, and the other is like. You might as well everyone else does. Just do it nobody feels ready. You donāt want to? Yes you do
Especially since one of those is pretty reversible if you change your mind after a couple years and the other one, well, technically but thatās pretty frowned upon
