I've been getting a lot of asks about my Café Mod recently, things about mod compatibility mostly, which has been fun! Always great to revisit this mod. As a result I have made some important and helpful changes and updates to the mod 😊 Info under the cut!
Firstly, I think I figured out why foods would sometimes randomly go "off" and get spoiled while in the display cases when you load into a lot, even though they weren't supposed to! So I've updated the TA_CafeMod_Main file with some important updates there. Make sure you download the latest version and replace that file!
Secondly, I have some new compatibility patches for you all, mostly around this BHAV:

So, in this confusing world, I have some important comp patches:
If you want to use either Midge's Cake Stand, PlatinumAspiration's Cake Stand, OR both, please make sure you have the file called Z_TA_CompPatch_CafeMod_CakeStands
You'll also want to have my TA_CafeMod_Main file loading AFTER the original cake stand files. This is important for that "Interaction - Eat - Grab a Plate" BHAV.
I know that load order can be really confusing, so make sure that you check with HCDU+ which mods are loading in which order!
It should be
1. Midge's Cake Stand and/or PlatAsp's Cake Stand
2. TA_CafeMod_Main
3. TA_CompPatch_CafeMod_CakeStands
Then
4. Z_Z_TA_CafeModMain_CJSmarterFoodServings if you want Simler90's / Cyjon's fixes to Interaction - Eat - Grab a Plate (I recommend!)

1) Twikki Island
First up, I've extracted some textures off of the Bon Voyage 'Taste of the Tropics' food stand with additional textures from free sources. (see at the end)
There are three options for the counter, because... indecisiveness. We already narrowed it down to three, ok? 😅
BV-match:
This one uses the same texture on the counter that you can find on the original BV stand.
Lagoon:
A variant with a blue counter. Rest is the exact same.
Walnut:
A variant with a walnut-wood colored counter, while the rest is also the exact same.
Specific info for Twikki Recolors:
If you want to use more than one Twikki countertop-option, choose ONE Main File and then choose the others from the additional files ending in '_CounterOnly.package'.
This way you don't end up with duplicates of the bottom subset of the walls and pillars.
If you plan to use only one version of Twikki, simply choose that particular main file. E.g. [...…Twikki_BVmatch.package]

2) Sulani
For the next two stands, I extracted textures from specific 4t2 Island Living objects converted by lordcrumps and cozysims.
Sulani 1:
This one uses mostly textures from the Island Living Luau Loo, and a few from the Leaky Tiki Barback.
Sulani 2:
Uses most of its textures from the 4t2 Zee's EZ Poke Bowl Stand, and a few bits and bobs from the Leaky Tiki Bar and the Luau Bathroom.
P.S. I know, there is only a Three Lakes version left to complete all three destinations. But I will be quite busy for the next three months. If anyone badly wants me to make those, let me know in a message or send me an ask and it will be one of the first things I do, when I have time for the Sims again in fall.
After almost a week of smashing my head against a keyboard, I present to you my very first CC ever…
Moving alien antennas. They swing. They dangle. They bounce.
Version 1 - antennas move subtly. Less likely to clip. Compatible with a wider range of haircuts, but not all. Available for all ages and genders.
Version 2 - antennas are more responsive to movement and look like they have a life of their own, but they clip a lot and have a very limited range of compatible haircuts. Theoretically available for all ages, but completely broken on toddlers.
RECOLOR - these don't move, just a simple recolor of the original mesh (Namekian Style Skins and Antennas for Everybody, by Diekatze) to match the alien skin tone in game. Available for all ages and genders, and compatible with all haircuts. Mesh included on my file.
DISCLAIMER
The antennas are broken on a lot of haircuts (they clip, stretch or point in strange directions), and I still don't know exactly why.
Version 1 seems to work with some animated haircuts and all static haircuts (as far as I know).
Version 2 doesn't work with most haircuts and is completely broken on toddlers. See example below:
I'm trying to fix it, but it requires a degree of technical knowledge that I do not possess (frustratingly so). If anyone knows how, I'd be very happy to learn!
We've all been there. Our sim is out having a lovely time with some friends, perhaps family, or a whole frat worth of loose acquaintances. They are hungry, they want to eat.
And somehow by the end your Sim has to foot the bill for the whole affair. Hardly seems fair, does it? I mean how often do you go around paying for everyone when you eat out? Nah. I am tired of my poor newcomers in town trying to make friends only to end up with a 8 people restaurant bill to cover on their meager salary. Clearly it is not my fault for making food more expensive resulting in 800+ bills (😇) but the lack of manners in sim-restaurants not providing a means to split the cost 😤 No more!
With this mod, the restaurant podium (*) will now give you the option of splitting the bill. Can be used on dates as well as outings, though it only shows up if there are non-household members taking part in the meal. If there are any such, the podium will give you the option to only pay a fair share of the total bill, corresponding to the % your sims make up out of the total. In the example above, only one sim out of 4 was part of the household, so the sim is given the option to pay 25% of the bill. If two sims had been household members, it would have been 50%, and so on. (**)
(*) Will not apply to custom podiums without a tweak, more info under the cut.
(**) Only active household pays, the remainder of the bill is negated entirely. If you play a strictly regulated economy, your restaurant will earn less when you use this option. To track exactly what you ate, or force payment from multiple source is both overly complicated and more conflict-prone, and I do not personally think it is worth the effort here. If you run OFB restaurants, just don't use the option in those.

Conflicts: None that I know of. Does not conflict with Lamare's reservable tables 😊 Edits TTABs of the maxis podiums, action strings and pay bill action/guardian interactions in the semi-global, and adds one custom bhav to the semi-global.

Editing custom podiums
Due to how Maxis set up the menus of podiums, it was necessary to tweak the TTAB to alter which interaction is used which means custom podiums are not impacted. It is however a super easy fix that anyone can do, so if you have a custom podium you would like to fix this is how you do it. Locate your package and follow the steps.
I think most everyone with a custom podium are likely to be using Sunni's partly invisible version, and since I know some people do not like touching SimPE however easy it seems to me, I figured I'd include an edited version.
It comes with a bonus fix that shifts the podium ever so slightly forward, to prevent the routing stomping protests the host gives if you place it on grid over a counter. If you have previously placed podiums you want to apply this routing fix to, please note it is a CRES edit which means the item has to be cleared from lot and re-purchased in order to actually update.

If you have edited yours to add custom foods to the menu, or even just missing maxis foods, and you want the routing fix, I recommend extracting and importing your edited bcons :)

Replaces the head and the social bunny textures. Clean textures (with missing eye restored) are by Phaenoh, I included them because I edited a few pixels around the eyes to make the blinking animation look better.
Both eyes are animated.
Compatibility: Not compatible with texture or mesh defaults.

Rockburn's Smaller Vampire Fangs Remapped to Fit CC Teeth Textures (+ Even Smaller Fangs Mesh Edit for Teens) for TS2
This gap in my vampires' fangs had been bothering me for a while, so I looked into what it was.
Most CC teeth textures have shorter teeth than the vanilla textures to add depth and give teeth a more rounded look. However, vampire fangs are mapped backwards so the top of the fangs use those parts too, not a problem for Maxis textures, but causes this effect with many CC teeth textures. So I remapped Rockburn's more reasonably-sized edit of the fangs to better fit CC teeth. Flipped the UV map and moved them to the lateral incisors to hopefully increase compatibility (sizing of the canines varied more widely). I can't guarantee this will fit every set of teeth, but at least now if a teeth texture is short, it will affect the tips of the fangs, which will just make them look more rounded.

Decided to revisit my shader mods and I wanted a water mod that doesn't turn black without pools.
This pond water mod mod is an edit of this mod (I wanted something in between the blue version and the green version of it), plus added in the night snow edits (blue snow begone!). I also added in the pool shader from Radiance 2.4 so the reflections look different too.
The nhood water mod is an edit of this mod, plus added in Better Nightlife since the two mods conflict.
Finally, the roof shader. It should be more obvious on lighter colored roofs, but I made it a bit brighter but not as bright as Niol's shader, so Maxis roofs should still work well for the most part. Just removed the dark colorant in the material shader.
This is based on this mod but the original mod had a bug where the snow doesn't go on top of the actual roof but managed to fix that too.
The news of what happened to GOS makes this a good time to mention, probably, something that I didn't mention earlier because of the hate I received when I scraped GOS.

Here's the fucking scrape. It's missing 2024-2026. I be that stuff can be scraped as well though, but since it'll have to be done through Wayback it's gonna take time.
In case anyone wants it today- back in 2020 or so I archived the Old Wood and Dead Metal (Build/Buy) section of GOS when MediaFire looked like it was about to go down.
It's probably less useful than @simnostalgia 's big 2023 scrape- I know I didn't get everything- but more backups are better than less backups.

A gift I made for @lamare-sims 😊 There's a few options for this out there already, but we agreed there was room for improvement so here is my take on a slot blocker object.
Found in general/misc, it costs nothing, and it does what it says on the tin. It sits in slots, to take up that space in situations where you perhaps wanted to rotate the object (shameless self-plug) or you had to use an OMSP to avoid clipping so that a slot visually looks filled but functionally isn't.
What Lamare wanted specifically was for this slot blocker to not prevent you from clicking on objects underneath it. So that's what I did! 😁 In live mode the object goes invisible automatically, and shrinks to the size of a speck of dust so that you have full clicking access to whatever may be overlapping :3 When you return to buy mode, it'll return to regular size and texture so that you can remove it if you want to. You can also recolor it invisible manually, if you prefer, it'll then remain invisible whether in live or buy/build.

The Lighting Mod Ultimate Collection is a lighting mod/framework that allows players to switch lighting configurations on a lot-level basis.
Now, the game itself already utilizes lot-level lighting as far back as Nightlife for Downtown lots, and some lighting mods have combined this with the usage of cheat aliases to use different lighting configurations that potentially suit different lots of neighborhoods, or using different lighting color definitions (as in Cinema Secrets's implementation of World Lit by Fire), or the lighting direction changes in Maxis Match Lighting Mod.
However, Lighting Mod Ultimate Collection takes this a step further and features five lighting mods in one setup. This means one installation and you can switch from one config to another on the fly.
I'm gonna need some help playtesting this one. Hit me with issues and conflict reports 🤓
So, this is a global mod for booths!
At restaurants, sims can now enter dining booths decorated with OMSPs or shiftable clutter, which was a problem before
At home, sims can now successfully serve, eat and clean up dishes in inaccessible parts of tables with dining booths. They will jump in and out of booths or crawl under the table when they can't scoot over normally, for example, when all entry seats are occupied by other sims
They will be able to reach plates in the far corners to clean them or put away

Night Life may be required? Not sure if there are booths in other EPs

- Tableware Setter (a.k.a. table_setter) - let UseInaccessibleDiningBooth load after it, and they'll both work fine
