I can't express how excited I am to bring brand-new animations to these iconic objects and finally see them in action inside the game. I wanted to share a sneak peek of the WIP process with you! These clips come from the Recording Studio and showcase both the successful and failed versions of doing jingles and handling rejection.

We've all been there. Our sim is out having a lovely time with some friends, perhaps family, or a whole frat worth of loose acquaintances. They are hungry, they want to eat.
And somehow by the end your Sim has to foot the bill for the whole affair. Hardly seems fair, does it? I mean how often do you go around paying for everyone when you eat out? Nah. I am tired of my poor newcomers in town trying to make friends only to end up with a 8 people restaurant bill to cover on their meager salary. Clearly it is not my fault for making food more expensive resulting in 800+ bills (😇) but the lack of manners in sim-restaurants not providing a means to split the cost 😤 No more!
With this mod, the restaurant podium (*) will now give you the option of splitting the bill. Can be used on dates as well as outings, though it only shows up if there are non-household members taking part in the meal. If there are any such, the podium will give you the option to only pay a fair share of the total bill, corresponding to the % your sims make up out of the total. In the example above, only one sim out of 4 was part of the household, so the sim is given the option to pay 25% of the bill. If two sims had been household members, it would have been 50%, and so on. (**)
(*) Will not apply to custom podiums without a tweak, more info under the cut.
(**) Only active household pays, the remainder of the bill is negated entirely. If you play a strictly regulated economy, your restaurant will earn less when you use this option. To track exactly what you ate, or force payment from multiple source is both overly complicated and more conflict-prone, and I do not personally think it is worth the effort here. If you run OFB restaurants, just don't use the option in those.

Conflicts: None that I know of. Does not conflict with Lamare's reservable tables 😊 Edits TTABs of the maxis podiums, action strings and pay bill action/guardian interactions in the semi-global, and adds one custom bhav to the semi-global.

Editing custom podiums
Due to how Maxis set up the menus of podiums, it was necessary to tweak the TTAB to alter which interaction is used which means custom podiums are not impacted. It is however a super easy fix that anyone can do, so if you have a custom podium you would like to fix this is how you do it. Locate your package and follow the steps.
I think most everyone with a custom podium are likely to be using Sunni's partly invisible version, and since I know some people do not like touching SimPE however easy it seems to me, I figured I'd include an edited version.
It comes with a bonus fix that shifts the podium ever so slightly forward, to prevent the routing stomping protests the host gives if you place it on grid over a counter. If you have previously placed podiums you want to apply this routing fix to, please note it is a CRES edit which means the item has to be cleared from lot and re-purchased in order to actually update.

If you have edited yours to add custom foods to the menu, or even just missing maxis foods, and you want the routing fix, I recommend extracting and importing your edited bcons :)

I was downloading some of @lamare-sims's shiny new mods tonight and found a conflict between Cafe Mod and her wonderful "use inaccessible dining booths" mod, so I've made some extra compatibility versions!
There's now a version for if you use only Cafe Mod & Lamare's mod, and a version for if you have Cafe Mod, Lamare's Mod, and Simler90's Cleaning mod, ALL of which conflict lol yay.
And of course my original comp patch for ONLY cafe mod and cleaning mod is still in here as well:

Hi! Love your mods - tysm! <3 Having a problem with skyline/horizon visibility after removing Lot Skirt Shader. It disappeared and nothing helps (can’t see seasonal skyline from lot view). And, just like you mentioned, terrain paints disappear from lot view with the shader installed.

Hi, Lamare! I have a question. I'm wondering if it's possible to add a new type of NPC in the game that can be called through the "Services" menu on the phone. It would be great to call a doctor to home who can sell medicines like the gypsy sells potions, can issue sick leave notes, excuse kids from school, monitor pregnancies, and so on... I've never seen a mod like this, so I have doubts it can be done, but hope dies last. I'd be happy to know that it's actually possible and that someday someone might be able to make it. If the Services menu doesn't allow any modifications at all, maybe there's a way to replace an existing (not very useful) callable NPC, or create something like a restaurant hostess stand where a doctor would spawn on a community lot? I don’t know about modding at all, sorry

Hi! Custom NPCs can be done. There's this list of CC that creates NPCs, not necessarily a callable services, but just to get an idea of what can be done with them.
People seem to tend to avoid making new NPCs these days, because once you've installed a mod with it, it's considered a bad idea to uninstall it for the 'hoods that have been played with it. That may be why you haven't seen a lot of them around. Not a bad thing in itself, just a long term commitment, sort of.
Custom doctors have been done for sure. Maybe not in a way of callable service and I'm not sure if they actually add a custom NPC type or work around it somehow, but I've definitely heard of hospitals and such in the Sims 2. Edit: some of them do, there are two doctors on that list I linked above 😅

This isn't like an official download post as not all of it is mine (but there will be downloads :D) but more like a list of light map and shader mods I personally use for my game to make it look just how I wanted it and I no longer use my old Shader Fixes due to the amount of new shader mods that has come in.
This will be long so under the cut it goes.
1. Lighting Mod: Cozy Home Lighting Mod + Night Light Map Fixes
Goes without saying, I use my own lighting mod. Most of the other shaders won't look right without some kind of lighting mod.
I use Cozy Home, which is the newest mod I did. It's better to read it from the README because this is too long to put here.
The lighting mod also contains fixes to the Light Maps for both lot and neighborhood so they're less blue. Otherwise night lighting will not look right.

2. Neighborhood Shaders and Light Maps: @spockthewok's Reflective Water + @simnopke's Accurate Neighborhood Terrain Lighting + @criquette-was-here's Neighborhood Road Transparency Fix
What Will has been putting up, from the purple soup research to the object limit findings, and now the reflective water shader has been incredible. He's managed to do it much more beautifully than I have (as I can't really do much more than color scalar changes and combining mods together on the shader end of things). I prefer this over Voeille's water mod because the ocean does not go black with reflections off.
Make sure to get the version labeled dreadpirate as that one has @criquette-was-here's Better Nightlife mod integrated already.
The next part of this roundup is the Accurate Neighborhood Terrain Lighting, which fixes the shadow weirdness in the impostor (if you use the version with Criquette's Neighborhood Lighting Remedy integrated, which I recommend if you use any of my lighting mods). I personally use the strong-lightingRemedy version.
Finally, there's the Neighborhood Road Transparency Fix, which fixes the transparent areas on the sides of neighbourhood road, so the objects and decals below becomes visible and ‘cut-off’ effect disappears.

3. Lot Skirt Shader: @christaskyy's Improved Lot Skirt Shader
This new shader improves on the lot skirt rendering to be closer to the neighborhood view along the surrounding area after the lot boundary. This also means, with the right lighting mod configuration (ahem!), the roads match better. Not perfect, but better than before.
The lot skirt mod was made using my original shader fixes so this already contains @simnopke's Sky Fix and @criquette-was-here's Winter Road Fix.
The original link leads to Boosty, which causes issues for a lot of people so I am instead linking to their alternate link to the download. Make sure this shader loads after the Extended StandardMaterial Shader that will be linked later on.

4. Terrain Tile/Pond/Pool Shader: Aquamarine Pond Water + No Blue Snow
Now, this one is my work. I based this shader on Moi's Water Mod, but adjusted the colors (especially with reflection off) to be similar to Targa's old water mod. I wanted the colour to be something that isn't solid black without a swimming pool.
This contains both the terrain tile shaders and the pool shaders, which I took inspiration from the old Gunmod shader for but updated for Seasons. The shader also contains the night snow fixes as well, so the snow will not be blue at night.
Note that this is incompatible with water mods like Voeille's water mods or mods like @lazyduchess's Lot Lighting Fixes. I can't get Lot Lighting Fixes to personally work right and the snow issues personally don't bother me as I don't really play a lot of winter seasons.

5. Roof Shader: Slightly Brighter Roofs + No Blue Snow
I find many roof shaders too bright so what I did for this was just remove the bluish cast on the material shader part and made it just a touch brighter than Maxis, so you can still use roofs that aren't made with brighter roof mods in mind.
This again has the no blue snow fix integrated.

6. Standard Shader: @crispsandkerosene's Extended StandardMaterial Shader

C&K has already written up a list of what this shader does. I personally use the version with @lazyduchess's Bright CAS Fix. For the lot shader portion, make sure Christa's lot skirt shader loads after this, or delete the lot skirt shader portion in Crisps' file using SimPE.

7. Sim Standard Shader: My Edit of @crispsandkerosene's Extended SimStandardMaterial Shader
Just an edit I did of @crispsandkerosene’s SimStandardMaterial shader because I liked a setting somewhere in between the vanilla maxis setting for the scale lighting and the one in the Brighter SIms version.
You can read C&K's post for more information about the shader.
Nopke's mod allows the shadows to even show up as shadows, while LD's soften them so that the outlines are not too harsh. I use dark for Nopke's mode, and No Overlap 100 on LD's.
hello! In the upcoming Assigned Seating mod update, will there be an "assign to employees" option?

Hii Lamare have you ever thought about adding plumbing issues to your electrical box mod? Maybe the sims not being able to shower or wash plates or do laundry do to lack of water. Maybe they could even have the option to fetch water. I love that mod so much, it makes my gameplay so rich thank you for it
Hiii! Plumbing issues are meant for Rusty Old Pipe I've been working on in the past. I haven't coded anything of substance yet, though. It only has slots and repairing interaction done, I think.
An option to fetch water reminds me of Sun&Moon's set, so maybe check that one out. It seems to include modern objects as well as medieval.
