Phew! I hope everyone enjoys this one! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some rambling to do!

This comic is all about Ralsei and Kris’s complex relationship. It follows them through their unseen interactions during the “close your eyes” scenes of chapters 1 through 3. The goal of this comic is for these inter-spliced scenes to be able to be read as one flowing “conversation” which characterizes the whole of their relationship, but also for you to be able to read only the panels of each specific scene and be able to read a complete conversation between them there as well, which characterizes the state of their relationship at that point. I’m sure that, if we ever learn what these conversations were about, that they’re probably not really like this at all, but I’m less focused on theory crafting than using these moments where the two no longer have to act a certain way for the player or other characters and are able to speak plainly together to illustrate their complicated situation. Ralsei in Chapter 1 coming on too strong with his, ‘just be a good guy!’ Talk, (not unlike how he did with susie,) then in chapter 2, having spent more time with his friends, expressing his care for them, and in chapter 3 being more understanding because of their growing friendship… only for that to be undercut by the betrayal after a victory against the knight.

System Merge: AU where mbart, well, merge their systems and now co-pilot both the ship and the construct body, trading control over inputs and processes and subsystems in a constant dynamic balance, never truly separate again. while this isn’t a bodyswap au, I am extremely interested in depicting art-primarily-in-mb’s-original-body because the differences between art and mb are fascinating to explore via the visuals. so here’s some stuff

bonus: the main reason they start doing this/move towards the merge is to help art manage its major depression by giving it integrated access to organics (smth smth therapy not working as well on full bots because the organic hardware simply isn’t there). also mb can full on make partitions now. its feed presence was described as ‘spiky spreadsheet’ which imo is a delightful contrast to art’s anime pool water
