Hi Tumblr!
I havenât been on Tumblr for years by now but guess second timeâs a charm??
Here is a Wangxian fanart that people liked on the bird app, hope you guys like it too.
HAPPY KOOKIE DAY!!đđđ
good emotional skills to know 4 college but also in general
this is stuff that iâve found helpful and am in the process of working on. they may not be achievable for you without help and may not work for your specific circumstance, but this is a list of suggestions that you might be able to think about. i am also not a mental health professional so please do feel free to contradict me!!
self soothing. having a toolbox to take care of yourself by yourself. bc sometimes nobody else is available and you just gotta put some lotion on, listen to a tune, and go to bed early.Â
checking in. checking in with yourself to see if youâre okay. knowing how to alter your strategies when your strategies arenât working. knowing when your strategies arenât working. this is just taking some time every day to reflect on what goals you didnât meet and why and what you can do to fix that.
thereâs nothing you âshouldâ be doing. if you get caught up thinking âi should be doing xâ thatâs false! stop that! âshouldâ be doing better implies that you have some obligation to do whatever it is that you âshouldâ be doing. you donât owe anybody except yourself. analyze why you think you should be doing that thing and change that intoâŚ. âi want to be doing x becauseâŚâ or âdoing x will make me happier, becauseâŚâ. overall, more productive and less self-shamey.Â
disconnecting from the crowd. eating in a crowded dining hall can be stressful! knowing how to be alone in a crowd and stay calm is helpful
being okay with being alone.  tbh college is kind of⌠being alone a lot, in my experience. even though youâre surrounded by people, a lot of time is spent alone. making friends is hard. your friends have different schedules. youâre busy. shit sucks. we make the best of it.
knowing yourself. this relates to a lot of what iâve already said but like. knowing your emotional state and knowing what helps trick the monkey brain is helpful. stop repressing your feelings, friends.
talking to strangers. ordering from a menu! paying library fines. going to office hours. asking for a cashier at the register if there isnât one. ya this is hard. ya you gotta expose yourself. sometimes i just try playing a persona. like this isnât me ordering a sandwich. this is a cool me who knows how to talk to people who is ordering a sandwich.
you donât have to be friends with your roommates. you just have to live together in a way that doesnât make you two hate each other. ideally, you two will coexist in a way that doesnât interfere with the otherâs daily life.
give and taking. on the topic of roommates, sometimes your roommate can be a shitty person, but sometimes you are the shitty person! give a little but if theyâre negatively impacting your life, communicate.
communicating during disagreements. explain what your emotions are instead of blaming them. âi feel hurt when youâŚâ or âi feel frustrated whenâ or âi feel unappreciated when.â if things get heated, ask if you both can take a ten minute break and then come back. and donât bring up disagreements when the other party is preoccupied or going somewhere. you can legitimately schedule a discussion.
itâs okay to apologize. learning to swallow your pride gets easier each time.
knowing that people work differently than you. some people are not gonna click with you and itâs gonna seem like they have this whole brain process up there that is totally unlike yours. and yeah! thatâs how it is. and thatâs chill if they arenât hurting anyone else. work with them and be flexible!!Â
comforting people. you will probably/definitely see someone cry! hell if i know how to comfort people. someone please help. but some things iâve learned are: 1) different people need different things. different people need different things! 2) people need different things at different times. 3) you can ask them what they want and it wonât be weird. 4) apparently a lot of people like hugs? but ask. and itâs okay to not want a hug. 5) just show that you care in some way if you donât know what they need. i used to think that if somebody needed to tell me what they needed it was a sign that i just didnât know them well enough and we werenât compatible or i wasnât being a good friend. thatâs fake! friendship isnât based off of fitting naturally in every way and making an effort to be good for them is important.
knowing itâs okay to not be liked by everyone. itâs okay if strangers think youâre dumb because you said something dumb in public. you know youâre not dumb. itâs okay if not everybody you meet likes you. itâs okay if you do something cringey. everybody has their own shit to deal with and you will not shatter their world. grow and move on!
forgiving yourself. iâm trying this new thing where when i feel embarrassed about something i say. out loud. âi forgive myself.â and then i just try to grow from that and move on without getting caught in a spiral of shame.
knowing what you need vs what you want and what is better at the time. what you need: a shower. what you want: to not do that. solution: take a shower! or maybe what you actually need is to go to sleep? but guess what. you probably know what is good for you. the hard part is actually doing it.
realize that building habits is less work than discipline. emotional effort is expended every time you have to make yourself do something. just make it part of your routine and youâll just think itâs normal to do all the good things! like, for example, iâm trying to make it a habit to eat structured meals instead of a âeat when iâm hungryâ thing because i know that makes me skip meals, which is bad!
you wonât be able to do everything. forgive yourself for that. write down things that are top priority and focus on them. everything else is not important right now and you shouldnât beat yourself up for not being able to do them.
your health is important. iâm not saying health will solve all your problems. it wonât! but health will cause a lot of your problems to go away. because letâs face it. not sleeping causes a lot of problems.Â
itâs okay to ask for help. we say this a lot but itâs hard to internalize it. hereâs a thought: thereâs so much shame and hesitation about asking for help so by doing that youâre actually being proactive (which is respectable) and mature, and therefore⌠not weak or stupid. ask for help even before you need it! most people love to help others. and especially take advantage of people who are OFFERING help. for example: counselors at school or TAs. itâs literally their job. they want to do it. and if you donât want to talk to anybody in real life, my inbox is always open.

adhd + music moods:Â
listening to the same song on repeat for 72 hours straight
requires absolutely no sound. complete silence only. if anyone so much as breathesâŚ
NEED ALL THE NOISE. MUSIC AT FULL BLAST. The external volume has to be loud enough to drown out the internal volume so I can hear the one productive thought. I SAID THE EXT-
music has to be just loud enough that i can hear it, but quiet enough so i forget itâs on and i donât get distracted by changing the songÂ
too late. i am now changing the song every .2 seconds. hits shuffle. hits shuffle. hits skip. switches playlist. creates a new playlist that is a slight variation of an already existing playlist. itâs been 5 hours.
So this post was directly beneath this and I thought it was just a continuation
about me ⿠(a new studyblr)
August 24, 2020
Hello, people of the internet!
After such a long time planning to create a studyblr, I finally made it to this point and Iâm so so glad to be able to join this community that Iâve been looking up to since I was in the middle school! Iâm grateful that now I have time (+ courage) to create my own studyblr, yay! ^_^
Some things about me :
My name is Keisha and you can call me Kei! (but Keisha is also fine)
Iâm 18 years old
I am an INFJ-T
I am asian, so english was not my first language (hehe, sorry if I make mistakes (^â^ďź) )
I graduated high school this year (2020)
I am a college student (chemical engineering) but Iâm planning to try again for next yearâs college entrance test because I failed to get into pharmacy this year :( so, wish me luck!
I am currently learning new language which is Korean! I just started so Iâm not fluent yet.
I spend my free time reading books, watching dramas, writing, and fangirling to BTS and TXT (yes, a K-Pop fan right here)
I write songs and poetry, you can also check out my writings here
I play guitar and ukulele. I also want to try kalimba but it wonât happen sooner I guess :(
Some of my favorite studyblrs are : @rylie-studies (special thanks to rylie for helping me to start my own studyblr, you are the bestâĄ), @studyfajr, @stuhde, @stillstudies, @studypetals, @studyhardmione, @scholastc, @philology-studies. Iâve been following them for a long time (with my private account), they inspired me so much âĄ
I want to make lots of friends here <3 so, letâs be friends!
If there is anything else youâd like to know, you can message me directly or ask me through my inbox áŚăâĄâš)ăâĄ
Nice to meet you all! I hope I can achieve my goals and make lots of improvements by joining this precious community. Thank you so much for reading, your support matters a lot to me âĄ
a long time ago i learned that a big part of your life needs to be undocumented and just simply enjoyed in the present. you donât need to post a picture of the book your reading for it to be good. you donât need to have a pic of you posing before the sea as proof that u had a good trip. thereâs a very fine line between manufacturing moments for future nostalgia and honoring happy experiences by commemorating them into art. and itâs all about intention: do i want to take a picture because it would look good on ig or do i want to take a picture because i do not want to forget how insanely happy i am right now? or, preferably, do i even need to take a picture at all?
I agree with this, as I do it often. However (this is just a person note because I feel chatty right now), I do wish I recorded more. Iâm quite forgetful so cues wouldâve been good. I guess I went ham on the living in the moment thing. Idk like OP said, itâs really all about intention, why take that photo? Do u need it? Blurbby
hey so like
hi, you. yeah im talking to you. You like my stuff from time to time and reblog once and a while, and I always recognize you in my notes. weâve never talked, maybe you dont like to say much or youâre nervous or something. itâs okay, whatever it is.Â
I see you. you mean a lot to me. sometimes when Iâm having a hard day, Iâll notice your name once again in my notifs and it makes me smile. im not kidding.
I donât care if youâre a âghostâ follower or you send me asks all the time. i see you and I love you so much, genuinely and truly. you are really important to me.Â
thank you. thank you for being there. <3
do most people on mobile tumblr know you can hold down the reblog button to fast reblog a post to your blog? you know you can reblog things with one click right? please please reblog things if you enjoy them, lack of exposure is killing content creators on this siteÂ
Please pass this information around! Long press on the reblog button and then your blog icon will appear so you can swipe up into it:
Two click reblog and one click like is why the notes on my posts look like this:

self discipline tips
here are tips I discovered very recently:
something is better than nothing. 5 minutes of work are better than zero. Just because you missed something on your schedule doesnât mean you canât still work on it, even for 5 minutes. Grow and build on this.
second drafts / reviews can be done after.
Donât think you are going to do your very best work on the first try. Take the weight of perfectionism off your shoulders.
donât think about doing it. just do it as fast as you can.
build on your productivity, not your failures.
If you come from a past of procrastinating and now feel motivated to change and discipline yourself, do NOT try to do everything at once.
if you have a set of different goals to accomplish, begin with the most important one. Wait until the rotine of working for that one settles in (you feel productive and comfortable-ish), and then begin with the next. Repeat.
this way youâll be building your way up and not juggling everything at the same time, hoping everything works out.
be patient with yourself, youâll get there!
set smaller deadlines for your goals
have monthly and weekly-ish deadlines
e.g. if you are doing a project, due 22nd Feb, set personal deadlines, like have Introduction written by 2nd Feb, have Methods written by 10th Feb, have project complete by 18th Feb.
take them as seriously as you possibly can, donât miss out on yourself.
write realistic daily tasks and donât stop until you finish them. after them you can do whatever you want
on writing realistic daily tasks, the secret is knowing you can only do so much in one day, but trusting you can accomplish everything in the course of any period of time (a week, or 2 weeks or a month, etc.) because you will combine the work from all these different days.
itâs very tempting to write down all the tasks you need to accomplish in one day to just get over with it, but the real deal is you wonât accomplish half of them. Youâll feel very unproductive then, wich leads to demotivation.
spread daily tasks in the time necessary.
have a consistent sleep schedule.
if your mind isnât ready everything will fall apart.
have one rest day per week where you plan nothing, do whatever you want except studying. this can be harder than you expect!
(donât forget these are effective only if you actually put them into practice! good luck babes!!)
Gosh I hate grind culture. My little sister just started medical school and all of her orientation leaders are like âyou absolutely cannot have a life WHATsoever you WILL have to give up EVERYTHING besides this program say GOODBYE to your hobbies and relationshipsâ and now sheâs calling me feeling guilty for running and going to the grocery store and thatâs just WRONG! And that is exactly what I was told starting law school as well, and rejecting that mentality was the best thing I ever did but it was so hard not to buy into. Anyway if any of you are in an intense academic program PLEASE take time to sleep and eat and exercise and maintain your relationships and keep up your hobbies! you are not a robot who exists solely to study and I promise that living a life and staying physically and mentally healthy is not going to make you fail
Indian students!!! Especially Science kids!! Yes, entrance exams are hard, yes you WILL need to put in a lot of effort. BUT please please PLEASE don't make it your sole reason for existing. "You are not a robot who exists solely to study "
As a fellow science kid, who literally burnt herself out for Grade 10 Boards and spent the next year hating herself and everyone around her, rejecting this mentality would literally save you.
Iâm nearing the end of high school, and I thought itâd be useful to share a step-by-step guide on how Iâve studied for the past few years.
Some disclaimers/clarifications
This doesnât completely apply to Math-heavy subjects; Iâll write something about that soon, though!
Donât take everything here as #Gospel Truth. At most, these are suggestions. Compare my framework to yours, and see how you can stitch mine up to improve yours.
Some tips:
AVOID MAKING A STUDY TIMETABLE AHEAD OF TIME. I cannot stress this enough. Decide for yourself on the day which lessons youâre going to focus on. Your past self cannot predict how good your future comprehension will be of certain lessons. Only your present self will. Watch Ali Abdaalâs video for a far more articulate argument.
REREADING YOUR NOTES TO MEMORIZE IS INEFFICIENT. Test. Yourself. Make flashcards. Teach someone else your lessons. Make a brain dump. Challenge your brain to vomit out the lesson instead of passively ingesting your notes.
CLEAR NOTES > PRETTY NOTES.
The rest of the process is under the cut!
REBLOG IF ITS OKAY TO TALK TO YOU.
Please.
not to be naive but it still shocks me when people are so apathetic and cruel towards others like .. youâre literally rotting on the inside ⌠, hope you feel better soon ?

He told me the photos looked so good together and that I def should include it. After worrying a lot about wether to post it or not I realized that this is my blog?? You know?? and that this is exactly the things I have to stop worrying about?? I need to give less fucks :(((
Everything Is Awful and Iâm Not Okay: questions to ask before giving up
Are you hydrated? Â If not, have a glass of water.
Have you eaten in the past three hours? Â If not, get some food â something with protein, not just simple carbs. Â Perhaps some nuts or hummus?
Have you showered in the past day? Â If not, take a shower right now.
If daytime: are you dressed? Â If not, put on clean clothes that arenât pajamas. Â Give yourself permission to wear something special, whether itâs a funny t-shirt or a pretty dress.
If nighttime: are you sleepy and fatigued but resisting going to sleep? Â Put on pajamas, make yourself cozy in bed with a teddy bear and the sound of falling rain, and close your eyes for fifteen minutes â no electronic screens allowed. Â If youâre still awake after that, you can get up again; no pressure.
Have you stretched your legs in the past day? Â If not, do so right now. Â If you donât have the spoons for a run or trip to the gym, just walk around the block, then keep walking as long as you please. Â If the weatherâs crap, drive to a big box store (e.g. Target) and go on a brisk walk through the aisles you normally skip.
Have you said something nice to someone in the past day? Â Do so, whether online or in person. Â Make it genuine; wait until you see something really wonderful about someone, and tell them about it.
Have you moved your body to music in the past day? Â If not, do so â jog for the length of an EDM song at your favorite BPM, or just dance around the room for the length of an upbeat song.
Have you cuddled a living being in the past two days? Â If not, do so. Â Donât be afraid to ask for hugs from friends or friendsâ pets. Â Most of them will enjoy the cuddles too; youâre not imposing on them.
Do you feel ineffective? Â Pause right now and get something small completed, whether itâs responding to an e-mail, loading up the dishwasher, or packing your gym bag for your next trip. Â Good job!
Do you feel unattractive? Â Take a goddamn selfie. Â Your friends will remind you how great you look, and youâll fight societyâs restrictions on what beauty can look like.
Do you feel paralyzed by indecision? Â Give yourself ten minutes to sit back and figure out a game plan for the day. Â If a particular decision or problem is still being a roadblock, simply set it aside for now, and pick something else that seems doable. Â Right now, the important part is to break through that stasis, even if it means doing something trivial.
Have you seen a therapist in the past few days? Â If not, hang on until your next therapy visit and talk through things then.
Have you been over-exerting yourself lately â physically, emotionally, socially, or intellectually? Â That can take a toll that lingers for days. Give yourself a break in that area, whether itâs physical rest, taking time alone, or relaxing with some silly entertainment.
Have you changed any of your medications in the past couple of weeks, including skipped doses or a change in generic prescription brand? Â That may be screwing with your head. Â Give things a few days, then talk to your doctor if it doesnât settle down.
Have you waited a week? Â Sometimes our perception of life is skewed, and we canât even tell that weâre not thinking clearly, and thereâs no obvious external cause. Â It happens. Â Keep yourself going for a full week, whatever it takes, and see if you still feel the same way then.
Youâve made it this far, and you will make it through. Â You are stronger than you think.

Probably my favourite self-care checklist.
(if you have an ED and therefore need to restrict movement, preferably do not walk. an alternative could be to go outside and sit on a bench, just breathe the fresh air and observe the nature around you)
