This comic was my contribution to a korean wx anthology, of which the theme was apocalypse.
The way I see it, when canon lwj realized his perception of the world was built upon deceptions and that he is a part of the problem, it was a downfall of a belief system, an apocalyptic end of a worldview. This is a retelling of sorts!
That being said, what lwj sees is real to him, although not necessarily true in reality. For one, the community was supposed to be surrounded by desert in his belief but that is not true to his observation. I kept the lines vague bec I'd hoped it to be up to the reader figuring it out like how lwj must learn to distinguish the two.
I hope the experience resonates with someone out there. Thanks for reading!

So about this - Again, I want to be clear. As much as she talks and talks and talks, she IS a Zionist, and she subtly reveals it EVERY time she speaks.
This. This is Zionism. She makes it sound cushy, but this IS Zionism.
She does not believe in Palestinian independence. She believes Israel has a 'right' to exist (it does not), and that Palestine should be a state run by the Israeli government. What she is describing is functionally what we currently have- Palestine already has its own "government" ala the PNA. It does not solve apartheid. It IS apartheid.
What business could Palestine even possibly run, when Israel controls all of Gaza and the West Bank's borders? Israel will always be in control as long as they exist. Palestinians will continue to be ethnically cleansed until Israel is no longer a state(and no, that doesn't mean displacement; Israelis simply fear receiving what they give).
Let me paraphrase what she is describing, so you all understand:
"Separate but equal."
