Ā Ā Jeez, okay. Berdly figured it just never went well whenever he of all people tried to actually help out a person, so he should have expected this. Even when he didnāt know them well or not,it just always happened this way. Berdly was no good at this āhelping peopleā business anyway. He wasnāt good with cheering people up, thinking about feelings, or whateverā ā¦He was making this about himself. He really had to stop that.
Ā Ā Still, it was concerning to see the ghost like this. It didnāt fix anything? Ā There was somethingthat needed to be fixed. And Berdly knew he probably couldnāt do anything about it, but he wastrying. This wasnāt something he did often. Why did it sort of hurt, having his efforts being brushed off like that?
Ā Ā It wasnāt like he cared that muchā After all, he barely really knew BEN, and the few times theyād met, he was mostly bent on messing with Berdly. Still, some sort of sympathy clawed at the bird in the back of his mind, with most monstersā natural compassion shining through.
Ā Ā ā If you donāt want me around, you could simply just say so⦠ā He muttered. And then he sighed, Ā ā I know talking doesnāt fix anything; Ā Iām not stupid. Iām just saying, itās proven to make you feel better even for a little bit. ā He should just get to the point. Ā ā You canāt see, can you? Ā Do you know how that happenedā¦? Would you like to talk about that, or, something else? Ā ā
The exact moment Berdly stated the issue, BEN went stiff. just for a moment, but it seemed almost as if he had hardened like stone, like a statue there. even the clothing seemed to have been painted on. In that moment, however, BENās eyes completely disappeared, revealing inky sockets. The eyes didn't come back, even as the stone faded.
BENās grin grew, a defense mechanism, a scare tactic. it was quite the frightful face, missing eyes, wide uncanny grin...Ā
āI suppose Iām out of practice when it comes to looking normal, arenāt I?ā there was a calculation to his words that made them come out slowly. whether the words were meant to be as threatening as they were was... had to determine.Ā āwhat gave it away? it's not like I was showing off how they were gouged out with a spoon before now. one thing about being dead had been that physical issues like that hadnāt really mattered, ya know?ā
