Not too sure how many still actively follow me on here but quick life update. I am about to launch my own publishing company with offices in both New Zealand and England! 🍀🤞
Initially, it will be exclusively vanilla (I know, boo, hardly fits the blog brand!) but once established I am keen to explore tailored even dramatised audiobook content for the CG/l audience (and other fun ideas!). Plus hopefully it appeals to the vanilla interests of some of my followers. 😊

Super exciting pre-release announcement! We are opening a new publishing company working across physical, audio and e-book formats. Well early days but with exciting things coming so if you have a really cool project or nich’e skillsets you want to brag about, keen to have a chat!
Our main office is based in the Auckland CBD (New Zealand - NZST) with an England-based music studio and satellite office deeply immersed in their national audio/music industry. We aim to be a collaborative, fluid publisher actively supporting all parties. Very soon we hope to champion ethical publishing and business practices including powerful environmental and diversity campaigning!

Above and beyond all else, we hope to build and support a collaborative community both in our “talent pool” and in the wider industry. 💞 💜 As such, when future submissions open up, we will work to contact our talent pool first before publicly advertising wherever practical.
Our current project portfolio is already nearing a 1.5 year lead time so we only have select opportunities currently open for now (see below). That being said, we are actively building our talent pool to soon network with on potential future projects so don’t be shy to say hello! 😊

There is now a discord server for the Reckless/Mirrorworld series by Cornelia Funke (as a companion to @mirrorworldmirrorworld 's tumblr group chat which is a magnificent thing. The people in there already have the link).

If anyone is confused, basically, there’s a huge difference between using female as an adjective and using it as a noun. Saying “a female pilot” isn’t weird but just calling a woman “a female” makes many women feel gross. It feels weirdly dehumanizing, especially considering that many men who are guilty of this don’t refer to men as “males” (instead of “men and women” it’s “men and females.”)
Just say “woman.” It’s not that hard.
