An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
My first Crossover fanfiction on Archive Of Our Own! Of course I just had to have a fourteen year old Jacob Reckless seek involuntary beef with Pennywise/IT. 😂
So far only the summary and prologue are up. I’ve got the next chapters in drafts and I am slowly tweaking them. Please don’t hesitate to check it out! Seeing as it’s an IT x Reckless/MirrorWorld Crossover, I do want to stress however that things past the prologue are about to get dark. Hence why I’ve labeled the fanfic as mature and put warnings out there before you start reading.
Please let me know what you think, I haven’t written a fanfiction in years and hope people will enjoy it.

Summary:
We all know that familiar 'Once upon a time...' each fairytale opens with, right? The 'And they lived happily ever after' however? That is much harder to come by. Since age twelve, Jacob has slipped through a darkly enchanted silver framed mirror in his father's long abandoned study, door locked tight, outgrowing his treasure hunter apprenticeship in MirrorWorld under a grouchy, one-armed mentor. Returning to 21st-century New York goes wrong when the mirror acts up one day. Hurled through time and space, Jacob crash-lands in the summer of 1989 inside the dank cellar of 29 Neibolt Street in Derry, Maine. — Straight into the jaws of a centuries-old, shapeshifting nightmare that masquerades as a circus clown. Forced to forget every skill learned at MirrorWorld, the 14 year old must rely on one unique advantage: Pennywise has never tasted fear quite like his. Fortunately, he finds unexpected allies in the Losers Club, who pull him from the dark sewers just in time. Down in the depths of those sewers, the monster already knows Jacob's scent—a foreign one It won't forget. Savouring this exotic new prey, one terrifying question remains: will It track that scent back to its source and learn to cross over the same way Jacob did?

As my contribution to the Reckless fandom I'd like to offer my very (un)funny memes that I made while reading books 1&2 for the first time :) (also ft. Book 3)

I heard about Nashpaints about a week ago, and then I yesterday I received an email from Stranded Records (Oakland), highly recommending "Everyone Good Is Called Molly". It helped that the email ended with the following paragraph:
Charming and enigmatic, Everyone Good Is Called Molly will resonate with fans of Felt, The Clientele, and The Durutti Column, as well as anyone captivated by Cindy Lee’s Diamond Jubilee.
So, here I am listening, writing this and bumping it up to the front of the Tumblr queue. I'm buying it from Stranded. I hope for your sake there's another copy available - it really is that good.
Nashpaints is the project of Dublin, Ireland based musician Finn Carraher McDonald. This is released by MirrorWorld and while it is sold out on Bandcamp, it is clearly available via distribution.
Rereading reckless to finally read the sequel and I'm trying so damn hard not to make magic Indiana Jones right now like no stop calm down it exists and it's perfect I could not make it any better but fuck do I want to
The Jade Goyl from the first book of my all-time favourite series — ‘The Petrified Flesh’ by Cornelia Funke
Close-ups and spoilers under the break:
I have some deep green jade from a friend’s trip to Aotearoa New Zealand and a few other random chunks from museums around Australia so mixed them together to come up with a possible texture.
I was thinking about the characteristics of jade and the places where it’s an important stone culturally as I’ve been rereading the whole Mirrorworld series, and I’m thinking the final book could be set in Aotearoa at least partially. It was mentioned at the start of ‘The Silver Tracks’ just like Nihon was mentioned in ‘Living Shadows’ and ‘The Golden Yarn’. The dreamlike beautiful quality with which Cornelia described Nihon and Toshirō and Hideo is so captivating; I’m very excited for the final book to be announced.
