Hey, poc transmascs, you can be a pretty boy. You don't have to be a pale, skinny twink with fluffy and coloured hair to be valid.
Embrace as much or as little masculinity as you want. Embrace as much or as little androgyny as you want. Embrace as much or as little femininity as you want.
It fills me with so much joy when poc transmen/transmascs be pretty and cute and GNC. I've been having such a tough time feeling like I can be pretty while also being transmasc, so I just wanna uplift everyone else so we can all feel good about ourselves. Let's be pretty together!
This includes enby, genderfluid, demigender, bigender etc. poc transmascs as well.
Painterly doodle of a pretty boy! (Although, honestly, this person actually isn't really meant to be any particular gender.)
Being creative has been hard lately. There are some truly distressing things going on in the world, and there have been some pain points in my personal life as well. Taking things day by day, practicing self-compassion, and leaning on friends and community have been helping me. I hope and pray you all are able to find peace - and justice - despite the storms brewing. <3
i feel bad that a lot of what i have to say is negative cuz despite everything and how i still kindof disagree with it as a concept .it was fun as fuck to see it in cinemas jhjhjjkkj it was just nice to talk to the people there and stuff it was fun ,,,, there were little kids who got excited cuz i had plushies of pomni n ragatha it was cute and i got one of those popcorn buckets and one of the cinema employees had drawn all the characters with markers on the walls it was so cool and i could hear the kids in the back quoting all of ep8 as it was playing(i can only do that with the pilot im a fake ass fan) no doubt ill hate it by the time its on youtube but it just felt so fun that i didnt even consider how ass it was until i got home which sorta sums up tadc in general i fear
Yes, the leaks were real. No, I'm no longer coping. I think there is only one TADC ending and this is it. I want to focus on Jax in this post. It is pretty critical/negative, so watch out.
Spoilers under the cut.

I found Jax's arc to be sincerely underwhelming, now that I've seen his whole arc across the series.
Goose wrote a great, compelling character but kind of fumbled him towards the end.
We see that Jax is a troubled guy from the beginning and only gets meaner as the series progresses. In episode 6, Jax tells Pomni that nothing is real and everything is an archetype.
What really bothers me is that in episode 7, he joined Abel's adventure upon Pomni's request. He had hope to leave the circus, yet it was crushed by Caine and he called him out for it. Even he was devastated by the fact that he was right.
In episode 9, Jax gets the confirmation that everything was fake and he goes off and abstracts.
It makes me wonder what I'm supposed to get out of that situation? Like, I see what Goose was trying to do. Jax kept spiraling downward and hurting everyone along the way. Not even Pomni could save him. Now he's forever stuck as a lobotomized digital dog. Even his last words, "I don't want to go" annoyed me. There's not really a point to that line other than to twist the knife and make everyone feel bad, since there was no saving him at that point.
I know seeing his human self do better was supposed to be a source of comfort, but it kind of bothered me. You're saying that Jax actually did have the potential to be a better person, but if he's placed in a situation where most of his autonomy and personhood is stripped, he become abusive, depressed, and ultimately ends his own life?
If Jax was less central to the story, I'd be a lot more fine with his ending. I wouldn't really think twice about a guy that was destined to die from the beginning. But Jax and Pomni's relationship is central to the story, and the execution of his plotline leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
Also, as a fan of IHNMAIMS, I don't think Jax's inversion of Ted was well done. Ted's character worked because, while he was paranoid and cruel like Jax, he ended up sacrificing himself for the good of the people around him. He did this by doing something very consistent with his character: ending everyone's lives but his own. I was really hoping for some kind of ending like that for Jax. He clearly loves the people around him, and it became more clear as the series progressed, especially since he completely stopped bullying around episode 7 after his fight with Pomni, so I was really hopeful that something huge would have happened with his character. He didn't need a happy ending or anything, but I wanted SOMETHING that wasn't just exactly what you'd expect. There really wasn't a lot of payoff for the series' investment in Jax's character, since he ended up as just another abstraction.
Another bit I want to talk about is trans Jax. I don't mind this bit. I personally think that Jax is closer to nonbinary/genderfluid, since his human self seems to use he/him pronouns and his given name, but he also frequents Zooble's gay bar. He also might be closeted, but I lean away from that just because of the gay bar thing.
Overall, I'm really disappointed. I do love this series, but I think the ending was fumbled pretty badly.
If anyone wants a deeper explanation on any of these points, feel free to ask. I'll be venting about the finale for a while.

i told you all if gangle and zooble ever had sex onscreen i'd choose to interpret them as friends with benefits because i can. and well. if you saw the end credits
idk why so many people are blocking me just for asking for their help...I don't want to be rich; I want to raise the money for my father's heart surgery and buy medicine for the scabies that has plagued my family
If anything happens to my dad, please remember that I begged you to donate, even a small amount, or to share my post. I will not forgive anyone who sees this post and doesn't support me with a single word or a small donation
not now sweetie, mommy is watching how the massive girlbossification of female characters has led to the belief that weak and vulnerable female characters are badly written characters because apparently every woman needs to be outspoken and witty and snarky and brave in order to be considered “complex” and have any value in a piece of media!!
given the current climate this pride especially i feel i must mention that i love my trans friends, i stand with trans people in the fight against transphobic legislation and those who would enforce it, and this blog is not a good place for you to be if you do not vibe with that

what if we both were girlfailures and just cried together?
teehee i think most of my arts will be them. not sure how many ideas i have rn so like... you can drop any suggestions bc i'll prolly run out of things to draw by the end of the month
As time goes on the idea of a "transtrender" gets funnier and funnier. At what point in time has there ever been a trend or clout to gain from being trans?
Let me settle the 'is it fetishism and is it bad?' debate once and for all:
Being attracted to any kind of body is normal. Fat bodies. Trans bodies. Disabled bodies. All normal. Being extra attracted to a specific kind of body is normal too. Totally normal to have a type.
Not unlearning the societal stigma attached to those kinds of bodies, the people who inhabit those bodies, and the people who fuck them, to the point where you do any of the following:
Only want to date/fuck the person in secret.
Reduce the person to the feature that you desire and ignore the rest of who they are as a person.
Expect the person to be a walking porn fantasy instead of a real person with their own sexual preferences and boundaries.
Would no longer love the person if the stigmatized aspect of their body changed.
Consider yourself superior to the person, think the person should be 'grateful' that you love their body, etc.
See the person as a temporary adventure while planning to eventually settle down with someone whose body isn't stigmatized.
Is bad and harmful and you shouldn't be dating anyone until you've worked on your shit, because this makes you a very terrible partner.
This doesn't mean you are a bad person with bad-fetishist-desires who can only desire people badly, it means you need to unlearn societal stigma so you can be a better partner to the people you desire.
a lot of my disillusionment with the trans "community" comes down to the fact that too many of you take "gender is different from sex" and go "ah ok, so instead of saying women are fragile and men are strong, I should say afabs are fragile and amabs are strong. to be Inclusive"
then you just treat gender like a surface level aesthetic draped over what someone "actually" is. really is indistinguishable from terf rhetoric
you all need to unpack your bioessentialism, but we also need a better theory of gender than "it's just dressup." I will pick my words carefully here, but the word "gender" itself refers to so many different phenomena that have been lumped together, and we need to un-lump them
in a feminist context, "gender" has historically referred to externally imposed categorization and the internalization and performance of said categories. in a paper I wrote on this subject, I called this sense of the word "extrinsic gender"
"intrinsic gender," on the other hand, is what I used to refer to the sense of the word "gender" that a lot of trans people are talking about when they discuss social gender dysphoria and euphoria. it's the internal sense of category that's resistant to external impositions
but then we also use the word "gender" to refer to subconscious sex, which is the term Julia Serano coins in Whipping Girl to name the phenomenon we're talking about when we talk about bodily dysphoria. it is the "gender" being "affirmed" by gender affirming healthcare like HRT and bottom surgery
so, "gender" is: a social classing system, a performance, and at least two internal phenomena as well. and I really don't know if it's doing us a service to conflate all of these things!
people will easily say "gender is a social construct" with the implication that sex isn't also one—that gender can be changed because it's socially conducted and sex can't because it's 'real.' but just like gender, sex also refers to many different lumped-together phenomena that too many people wrongly assume can only exist in two distinct combinations that are determined at birth.
sex is just as much a socially connected spectrum of characteristics as gender, it's just that the characteristics are physical ones, which makes seeing it as a social construct harder for a lot of people, i think.
even among trans people, i see advocation for things like sex markers on IDs, ridicule of medical forms that simply ask about what body parts one has and what one's endocrine system is like (the right way to do it), and constant use of "assigned sex" language as a stand-in for the idea of binaristic sex (even about people who have undergone a great deal of sex transition). it makes me sad.

the more i think about the more i think episode 9 redeemed every complaint i had about tadc for me. wow. wow. im glad that the biggest indie show yet is so explicitly transfem. im glad it does this while also not falling into the common abuser apology pitfalls.
thank you tadc for at least trying to make a show that turns to the audience and goes and its okay to not forgive your abusers and its okay to be happy that theyre dead while also trying to explore abusers as three dimensional characters. thank you for making it obvious that what jax did mattered even though she is transfem. im glad that digital circus has written a compelling character that is So Explicitely transfem. wow.
im glad jax is transfem. what do you mean people dont think jax is transfem. we watched the. same fucking finale right?
