aaand ofc one without filters and sketches that lead to this ^^ i got the idea from this reel !!! ive had a bit of trouble drawing for a while and making me frustrated with my sketches but rendering this made me remember that finished artworks take time and dont appear out of ur ass... yay !

Candypop:

(Feel like i have to expand on the staring at the wall thing-)

Essentially, when Candy's social battery dies (if you call what he does 'socialising') he doesn't feel himself. Considering the crazy jester man is normally bouncing off the walls, settling down is.. disorienting, for anyone around, but even more so for him.

I think that because he rarely ever gets to this point, it spooks even himself- possibly reminding him of when he had just fused with Terrors and wasn't accustomed to their shared consciousness.

I don't know if this makes any sense so let me clarify that I imagine their mindscape to work in a sense that they are both aware of what the other is doing and can essentially feel and see the same experiences at the same time instead of an unconscious swap sort of thing like I imagine Tim/Masky

Because of this, I imagine that early on into their fusion, it would've been hard to tell who was in control before they learnt their cues, making it a disorienting experience. And obviously not being in control of your body is traumatic... which is why he can be almost.. understimulated or paralysed when he doesn't feel himself.

So-- when he's struggling, he can't quite decide who he's meant to be at the moment, so he'll go silent. Choosing to forgo the effort of manners (as if he has those normally-) and simply exist for just a moment.

On a slightly different topic-- I imagine there to be no physical change between terrors and Candy when they swap, meaning most creeps have no clue who's who at first glance. They appear exactly the same- and with the same flouncing, too prideful, posture— the only way to tell them apart is the look in their eyes— and of course the way they speak.

Candy's eyes are almost constantly up-turned, with a never-ending grin and faint chuckles like every existence is a joke only he's in on. He's manic, like every other creep, and you can see it in every movement he makes- erratic and not thought through fully, but precise nonetheless. The only time his gaze has ever softened is when he glances over you..

Terrors however? He's far different. His gaze is frigid, judgemental and penetrating- like he knows everything about anyone. He's just as psychotic as his counterpart- sometimes further- but he's calculated enough that most can't tell. He moves like he curses every room he enters, heavy but fleeting, like an omen.

Of course, after years of time stuck together, it’s a lot easier to pick up on these queues. As their lover- you’re one of the few beings that can tell them apart. The others being Jason and Jack, a given, seeing as they’re the only souls considered ‘friends’ to the jester.

However, there are occasions where they can’t decide who is in control of themselves- very rare- so rare in-fact you’ve only seen it maybe… 3 times over the last decade— but it occurs nonetheless . Their body can't choose who's in charge of it.. so neither of them are. They can’t do much other than breathe, blink and hum quietly like this, opting to sit and stare at any sight they find pleasant enough. A twirling fire, starlit sky, or their sweet beloved will do nicely until they recover.

Jason The Toymaker:

An Insecure and dependent lover. Jason has no security no matter the reassurances fed to him. He’s overreactive, intense, with mood swings to give you whiplash— he’s anything but stable… but it’s easy to soften the sharp edges when it’s you.

He melts like butter, a furious tirade turns into whispered gratitude, a desperate meltdown into shaky holding— you take care of him, at his worst, without complaint. That is his reassurance. That is the only proof to him that you’ll stay. After all, why bother dealing with his episodes when you could’ve simply left? You’re not like the ones before… you’re permanent.

He lives for your embrace, at any moment he can find it, he’ll burry himself into your arms. Whether it’s a comfort, reconciliation or reunion, any excuse is fit to feel the softness of his true love encasing him. Just the thought has him sighing in delight, always dreaming of your affections.

He’s made a doll of you- a common head-cannon for him.. but instead of something small to sit on his desk I think he’s more inclined to create something… life-sized. The doll is left forgotten in his cupboard until he needs it.. craves your loving but- ah- his darling has gone…

It’s unsettling, and obsessive, but it’s honest. It’s accurate, down to the scars on your skin and the plush of your cheek- every detail had been memorised to make this doll a mirror. And despite the eeriness of it… you’ll have to be grateful. Now, instead of a panicked, pacing and inflamed husband waiting at home- you find him with the doll sat on his lap, stroking its hair with only disappointment— after all, nothing could truly replicate his one and only…

It.. satiates him, a temporary distraction rather than a replacement— he could never! Just the implication of discarding his lover would have him sick to his stomach. No, the doll is just that- a doll, one used to satisfy his.. cravings for as long as it can before an episode of distraught occurs.

Laughing Jack:

He’s clingy— which considering his past and the resulting abandonment issues- makes perfect sense. He’ll trail behind you through the halls of the slender-mansion for however long he’s there. Mumbling, giggling and the broken humming of nursery rhymes haunt you, following closely behind.

That being said, I don’t believe he spends much time in the mansion despite having a room there (as I head cannon all proxies have one, used or not) instead, he spends most of his time at his beloved monochrome carnival. Tattered tents, black, white and red.

Please, don’t question the stains, he worries you’ll think of him differently— that you’ll leave too if you were entirely aware… despite you sharing a line of work..

Despite this, you most definitely witnessed his ‘hobbies’ before. It’s impossible to miss when he’s so certain intestines are the best partner to fairy lights. I mean- he canonically made a chair of human skin and bone— and even though not all his furnishing is so openly grotesque… a few too many ‘centrepieces’ can’t be ignored.

‘Pop!’ Goes the weasel- his favourite. It echoes in your shared spaces, always no more than a few paces behind you— even if your lover himself isn’t there. Often times a small, splintered jack in the box waits in your shadow; lurking in his place until— Pop !! The ‘jack’ inside looks the same as your own, and each time the tune finishes he’s not far behind it, tumbling out from the shadows of a closet, corner, or beneath the bed to say ‘peek-a-boo’ a steal a kiss before he leaves again.

You’ve become accustomed to the ragged box appearing on your bedside, or the couch— and once in the bathroom. He can’t see through it or anything, but he can feel your presence nearby, and it gives him easy access as he can climb through it. It’s like a way to stay close- stay together- even when Jack’s away, it’s a soother to his omnipresent abandonment issues- Pretty isn’t leaving!- They’re right there!! Haha :^)

He calls you “pretty” btw.. it’s a main name on his rotation alongside a selection of candies, variations on “sweet”, “dolly”… and unfortunately… “twinkle toes”. No he will not stop, yes he thinks he’s hilarious, yes he also says it unironically.

He likes to squeeze- especially after he’s spent far too long under an hour… without you.. He just wraps his striped arms round n’ round your hips and scoops you up like nothing! He likes nuzzling too- especially into your hair or neck.

That being said- Jack likes the smell of you. The gentle whiff of your scent- while he’s also holding you near and dear, sends him reeling. To him- it’s proof that you’re there, real and with him.

laughing jack's mouth is DISGUSTING. okay. cough. his teeth are all sharp !!! and i have a hard time drawing it, but theyre all gross and horribly misaligned. and permanently stained yellow... even if you brushed the hell out of them, they'd still be tinted (smth i have an old, OLD drawn comic abt ... hmmm.....) his breath smells sickenly sweet with some weird smell underneath that might make you gag. and YES ... his tongue is long and striped. WHATEVER !!! the inside of his mouth isn't exactly black and white, but a very dull red that's practically gray ... cuz i said so :3 his lips aren't painted black, but just. black!!! i've seen alot of people say it's black lipstick, and while i do like the idea (and the idea of him leaving black kiss marks) it just makes more sense that it's just stuck that way... makes him more non-human !!!!

+ bonus. he. has cockroaches in there. i have NO idea how they found their way in, but they found the sticky candy food supply inside his stomach cavity (since he doesnt really have actual organs, or a digestive system) and just lived there ever since!!! they also dont really come out unless he wants them to for the fear factor. it's sort of a secret since if jason found out, he'd NEVER kiss him again, and if candy pop found out, he'd eventually slip and yap about it to jason, and then jason would NEVER kiss him again. he's thought about evicting them for that reason...

candy pop doesn't have all sharp teeth !!! I've seen it in his official art but. no ❤️ NOT FOR ME SORRYY 😭. i think he'd have normal teeth, with sharp fangs :3 he's a bit of a shapeshifter tho, so sometimes he mixes and matches to be spooky :3 his mouth and tongue are a bit pinkier than red, and his lips are also a permanent black !!!

jason is a basic bitch with a normal human mouth LOL. i think mayhaps his canines are a teensiest bit sharper than usual? but other than that. nothin. he's lowkey paranoid that his breath smells, since he's rotting from the inside out, but it actually doesn't smell like much... unless he's in his angered form.

+ he's not one to wear lipstick (since his ringmaster days) but he DEFINITELY wears tinted chapstick i promise you all he does 🙏
