Hello, hi! I'd like to introduce you to my animated indie series that I've been working on called Dream Along With Me! Dream Along With Me will follow the lives and antics of a group of puppet friends, The Dreamalong Gang, as they navigate a patchwork dreamscape while being stalked by secrets and horrors of the past. An escapist dream may become their cotton-candied purgatory!

Let’s Celebrate Love! It’s the Candy Heart Carnival!

The town of Dreamalong has its own celebration of all sorts of love, from platonic to romantic to straight up ambivalence! Different Candy Hearts have Different meanings on this week— how do you wish to express love?

You can get your Love Fortune told by Earl, have Bertie deliver a Candy Gram to your friends and loved ones, send someone special a plush made lovingly by Lunette, share a Lovespark Soda at Mae’s rainbow soda fountain, watch a romantic magic performance at Teddy’s Night Circle Theatre, or get some delicious pastries lovingly made by Mufflin! The found family of the Dreamalong Gang wish to celebrate with you! Who would you take to the Candy Heart Carnival? ;o)

Since they were once part of a children’s show, and live in a world that would appeal to one, I’d assume they’d have some experience interacting with them. Any regular children puppets in town?

Heehee hi that's a great question!

There are definitely some folks in the Dreamalong gang that are better with kids than others, ha!

Archie is definitely awkward around kids and doesn't really know how to talk to them! He likes them enough, thinks they can be sweet, and is able to perform for them, but one-on-one interactions? He has no idea what he's doing.

Earl, Lunette, Bertie, and Fiona are great with children and are able to tap into their own childlike whimsies to easily play around/entertain them!

Mae can be playful but is bothered often when children play rough by pulling on her tail and ears, and is more prone to being made fun of for her physical attributes (kids make fun of her furry hands and teeth a lot), so she will actually avoid children :'o) Like the family cat hiding from the toddler behind a couch......

Honeybell also prefers to not be around children as much because they're LOUDDDD and have too much energy for her to handle, she gets overwhelmed easily if they're rowdy. She's also small and doesn't like being touched!

Mufflin loves kids and is good with them but isn't afraid to set 'em straight if they're misbehaving, making him like a nice uncle-figure for them. :oD

Teddy is surprisingly good with kids? He's playful and enjoys blowing their minds with simpler magic tricks! They're often a sweet and enthusiastic audience for him, and he finds their innocence to be endearing.

Oh go for it! Doesn't have to be canon, you can play around with any ship you like as long as the puppets involved are all consenting and adults 💙🩵

I know there can be dissent amongst folks over ships so I ask that we all be chill and cool-- if you prefer Archie x Earl over Archie x Roy, for instance, then that's your bag, just let the Archie x Roy fans have their fun and vice versa😆

I can share a bit of the process and logic behind it yeah!

So right now, I'm writing the main plot of the show still, but a great chunk of it has been planned out already-- part of the writing process is putting together all the notes I've made through the years and refining them.

The teaser is being made to showcase just some of the plot, some of what to expect of the show. Some people choose to make teasers with animated scenes that were not taken from scenes already animated for the show, and sometimes teasers can be the show's opening/closing segments, things like that :o) And then those have their own pipeline for being made!

The purpose of the teaser is to not just showcase some of the things we want to do (without giving away too much), it's also to set a quota for ourselves so we can use that to estimate how long production will take for episodes~

I am in the animating phase of the teaser right now though! :oD I upload my process and progress for it (as well as other fun bits we do on the side for enrichment hehehe!) on our Ko-Fi! I have now set a schedule for it to be updated for both tiers once every two weeks :o)

I actually hadn't thought that much about any romantic elements in the story as I was focusing on the duality of horror mixed with childlike whimsy. I'm also aro/acespec, so it wasn't at the forefront of my mind...

I've done some exploring of character dynamics in terms of romance at the request of friends! There's some complicated feelings flying around in that trio. That's all I can say!

OH Thank you for noticing that little detail! So it's kind of both, with Roy being an old, beat up puppet with polyfil spilling out of tears, using simplistic, cloud-like shape language.

He would like you to think it's clouds he's filled with, rather than whatever is in there! :o)

I honestly adore everything we have seen for your characters, so far— designs, personalities through art and animations and little Q&As, it's all so wonderful! I wonder though, would you ever want to try a Q&A for characters on Tumblr, or is Insta easier? Who would be next in the cast for an interview?

Ogh Thank you I'm hoping things go smoothly, I'm very excited for when we finally can enter production :o) I'm writing furiously every day!! I'm pumped! I try to remind myself to take breaks though, it's important not to run myself into the ground! I hope you give yourself adequate breaks too! You deserve them as much as I!

I'm really happy to hear when people have fun with the content we've made for this so far <:o) I think I can manage character asks on Tumblr, we just might not have convenient features as we do on Insta, but it's still doable :oD!! If folks on tumblr are interested I can start rolling those out.

For the next big ask session, I've been meaning to call up Roy G. Biv for a long time as I think a lot of people have questions for him. I think he's open for an interview soon ;o)

I am currently animating for the teaser and you might have seen me mention elsewhere, but I thought I should mention again in an official post so you know what I'm up to! But I've opened up the ask box on here so I can answer any questions while I work :o)

☁️ Some news for you, in case you missed it:

☁️ We're putting together the teaser right now before we enter the production stage :o) The teaser will hopefully be out in the next coming months and we will enter production on the show afterward, with the goal of releasing the first episode by end of year or early next year. I'm using animation on this teaser as a quota (that is, using it to measure how long it takes to pump out something that's akin to a minute long short and using that to guesstimate how long animation will take on episodes). ☁️ One of our composers is working on something special for the teaser and I'm so excited for you to hear it, it's an absolute banger!! ☁️ There will be a video announcing the characters that have been cast so far :oD ☁️ I don't know how to describe this without giving away something significant about how this story is being presented, so just know that a great deal of the plot outline has been finished 😆 ☁️ We're in talks with making merchandise in the form of plushies and charms! I know I mentioned the plushie before, but I felt more comfortable going forward with it once the teaser was finished so you have some content that gives you an idea of what to expect out of DAWM, so that's what's new on that front! ☁️ I'm making an effort to update the Ko-Fi bi-weekly full of goodies, works in progress, and a look into the process :oD That said, I just updated it today. Roy actually! Doesn't eat or drink! 👁️👁️ He might order something if you're ever eating with him but he doesn't touch it... he will just watch you eat and talk... Which is very funny considering he has a somewhat out-of-place cooking segment on his show!

The Dreamalong Gang would absolutely help others that are sick! Mufflin, Mae, Lunette, and Archie are the known caretakers of the group that know good ways to chase away the yucks!

Earl and Fiona might try but are ultimately too clumsy/unable to truly focus on what they're doing to help...

Teddy would simply waggle his fingers as though casting a spell to get the ghosts out of your blood, and Honeybell would quietly sit nearby with a book to watch over you.

Bertie would whip up a scoop of your favorite flavor ice cream as soon as you're feeling better!

I've been following your project 'Dream Along With Me' and I gotta say I'm invested in it! The characters, lore, colors, and the childlike whimsy hiding behind horror - Love It!

(For Roy G. Biu)First ask: How does Roy keep his hair so impeccable? A thousand apologies for interrupting, but now I'm really curious about it. I've never seen his hair messed up.

(For Archie)Second ask: Well, well, that shadow behind Archie, what could it be? A personality trait? A power? Well, I still don't know what it is, but it's VERY interesting. I love your work since it was created, I've been following you since the beginning, and I admire the immense creativity and magic in your work!

Third question: What's it like being a Creator of an indie series? I'm not entirely sure, but if the characters have any voice, could I dub them? I'm very sorry! I know I might be being really stupid. But thank you for reading this far!

For Roy! He uses a special pomade to get his hair perfectly sculpted and voluminous! He does get bent out of shape if his hair gets messed up on account of how much time he puts into styling it! 😆

As for Archie's Shadow... He's a lot of things! A metaphor, an entity, an anomaly, a personification of things Archie doesn't like about himself... That's all I'll share for now :o)

And for the third question... Being a creator of an indie series is both really rewarding and fun but also can be rough sometimes! I've met some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and made close friends by putting myself out there, but you also sometimes have to deal with a lot of parasocial toxicity and that's been a bit baffling but interesting! It's a tough thing to manage as a neurodivergent artist that struggled with being perceived and valued his privacy, but I like to focus on the folks that are kind and give constructive feedback as well as focusing my energy a lot on the project itself. :o)
