You - white queer person who goes on and on about protecting black trans fems - Do you have black trans fem friends? What about black nonbinary friends or black trans masculine friends? Do you have any black friends? If you live in a predominantly white area and feel like you don't have many chances to build community with black people offline do you still engage with black art, even when no one's looking? Do you read black literature for your own enjoyment? Do you actively engage with anti-racist politics and challenge your fellow white people? Do you see black trans fems as human beings that you share community with or are they an abstract concept that exist at an arms length away from you? Because it's good to say you care but are your words aligning with your actions off the internet and outside of online public scrutiny where no one is watching you perform or is it all just lip service?
Black trans women are not just a statistic btw. They’re real people with real lives and families btw.
Black trans women aren’t monolithic; there are black trans women who are super badass and high femme but there are also black trans women who are butch, who are punk, who are a nerdy girl who hasn’t gone outside in weeks just like how white trans women are.
Ever wonder why trans memes only ever feature white girls? And rarely feature black girls? I certainly know a few black trans women who would love memes for them. It doesn’t need to be about the black experience to be for black trans women. You can have your little puppygirl memes with a black girl, they don’t need to be consigned to memes about natural hair or locs or racism or rap music.
Black people exist beyond the confines of anti-racist talking points. Black trans women exist beyond the confines of transfeminist talking points. If you don’t personally know any black trans women, analyze why that might be; are you making your presence a safe and comfortable place to rest for black trans women that you KNOW face tons of hardship? Or do you not care about actually giving them a safe harbor in your company and instead only care to use them as a cudgel in arguments.
Anyways sorry for my rant I wake up in the morning and think about trans people and sometimes I get worked up thinking about this stuff and so I yap into my little computer box about it before I go to work so I can get it out of my system

I've seen Black users talk about how just because an artist can draw Black people well, that doesn't mean that they are not racist towards Black people. And they're right.
And a little while ago I was talking about a lot of specifically White artists doing surface level to invasive "Research" purely so they can have the OPTICS of looking like they care about representation. They care more about LOOKING progressive and anti-racist by creating brown paper dolls (both of those conversations are on the same wavelength)
Just because James Cameron uses various cultures from around the world as his inspiration for his blue Aliens, that doesn't mean he respects those cultures.
See I've been thinking about this alot lately and I feel like its a product of making black characters (or other characters that belong to specific minority groups) to cater to a white audience, rather than to represent the black people they are depicting. This is how we get a lot of insensitively written black characters, its just representation for the creators to pat themselves on the back for diversity and white audience members to gawk and go "oh wow this show is sooo diverse!". Me personally, I am sick of black characters made for white people.
Black fandom culture is feeling pain when you see a comment go "Well I'm Black and I think it's weird seeing Black people do edits of their favorite non Black character being Black"... well then i guess this means we shouldn't support Black cosplayers considering Black edits is pretty much like that, us seeing ourselves as our favorite character, because hey,, "it's weird seeing Black people wanna be their favorite white/non Black characters of color". so this means Black cosplayers dressing up as Goku is somehow reverse racism/"Blackwashing".
and it's even worse when a fellow Black user goes "we just need more original Black characters." and yet don't realize that yes...we are making own on Black characters. people still ignore them. people still see it as "forced diversity". and some be thinking we can't do both, making Black edits and creating original Black characters. as if those who make Black edits don't have or care about original Black characters.
One thing I don't like abt Huntrix is when they do the blaccents like it's so annoying but unsurprising with how nonblack ppl just casually mock blackness😭

Nigerian (Igbo; don't ask which state I'm sorry😭) Adora from She ra and the Princesses of Power because why not. And the last image was the original look that I started but decided to not slack on the necklace and added the necklace and a few extra here and there's. ^^✨🇳🇬
i hate ribbun i hate ribbun i hate ribbun i hate ribbun i hate ribbun i hate ribbun i hate ribbun i hate ribbun i hate ribbun i hate ribbun i hate ribbun i hate ribbun
if i see another person look at that scene and frame it as some cutesy ship material i'm just going to block on sight. already hated that ship because it's never really acknowledged by the fandom that it's just abuser/victim but tried not to be too mean about it because it's just a ship and people can have different interpretations. BUT.
leaks/spoilers and mentions of sa under the cut
not even mentioning that him blackmailing her for heavily implied sexual material (the "figurine thing", her sketchbook ("i never knew you were an embarrassing little freak gangle!"), gangle feeling dehumanized by it) is by definition sexual extortion of some kind. even if it's not actual sexual material of gangle herself it's still held above her head to the point where she feels like she's "a toy for his amusement"
but some of you people find THAT cute? you look at the scene where jax fantasizes about sexually harassing and coercing his main victim while she's manic and vulnerable because she no longer has someone around to stand up for her? and you go "aww omg ribbun is canon!!!!" or "you can't deny jax definitely considered it :3" (<- actual post i saw)
yet if you suggest that this is sexual in nature or sexual harassment you get people going "uhh jax isn't THAT bad it's just a joke!!! it's just bullying it's not abusive!!!" (bullying is recognized as a form of abuse btw. so that argument doesn't work). YES HE IS THAT BAD AND IT'S NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED. IT'S NEVER BROUGHT UP. heavily implied this guy wants to sexually assault his main victim and some of you fuckers are acting like it's confirmation your ship is canon in some way
anything for your shitty romanticized abusive hetslop i guess. i'm so tired man
